@bobbylan1677 Thanks for your comment! I understand where you’re coming from-1 Timothy 2 can be a challenging passage to work through. I think it’s important to remember that Paul was writing to a specific church dealing with specific issues at that time. When we look at the whole Bible, we see God using women in leadership and teaching roles, like Deborah, who was a judge, and Priscilla, who helped teach Apollos. Paul even mentions women like Phoebe, who was a deacon, and Junia, who was called “outstanding among the apostles.” At our church, we believe God calls both men and women to serve based on the gifts He’s given them. I’ve seen firsthand how God has used Pastor Kelly to teach His Word and help others grow in their faith. I hope this makes sense, and I’m happy to talk more if you’d like!
I do not permit a woman to teach or have authority over men. Women are to be silent. 1 Timothy 2 v 9ff
