"Prayer in the Spirit is clearly prayer that is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It's prayer that is led by the Holy Spirit. It's prayer that is guided by the Spirit. I’m in tears because my heart aches to be a part of the true church. When Jesus was preached and souls saved. So much flesh and entertainment in “the church “ today.😢
You're absolutely right. But the Bible says the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. So, let's pray that God will turn the hearts of the lost, just as He directs the flow of rivers.
It is knowing Jesus is with you at all times. Beyond doubt! It is the broken hearts that have great trials struggling to cope with the wicked of the world that we drop to the ground knowing we are but of the dust without Jesus. We cry long hours nonstop in grief and sorrow. Yearning to go home at all costs. He is our existence and Jesus Christ alone. So grateful for this hidden treasure!❤❤❤🎉
Thank you so much MLJTrust. I do not know much about you yet, I thank you for this message from the bottom of my heart. A much needed message for the present day when most of the messages and demonstrations of worship and prayer are something that we cannot find in the Bible. Thanking God for the technologies which make such precious gifts available for people who are far away from the production source. God bless you.
Prayer is basically "a fellowship with the ALMIGHTY GOD. Not just for petition as it is mostly practised today. Praying in the Spirit is that wonderful meeting with the Father in our innermost realms, hearing and conversing with our Father. It is not shouting . Thank you, brother, for this sharing.
Been reading the Dr’s wonderful sermons for over 40 years now. His sermons on Romans are amazing. I still regularly have a Doctors appointment! Does me so much good, instructs, strengthens and blesses me. Thank you so much for posting these.

Thank you, I just read the wonderful book regarding the Sermon on the Mount, and it was an amazing book with great substance, very grateful for Dr. Jones..
Thanks for sharing. Recieving the gift of the Holy Spirit as it says. Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Then the five signs that follow a believer that's in Mark ch. 16. Halalujah Jesus is Lord of all. Believe the Gospel.
1 Corinthians 14:14] For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. [15] What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Praying in the Spirit is definitely not "blasting in tongues" as some of us erroneously practice today. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. The sermon is correct.
Praying in the Spirit, is first ,allowing the Holy Spirit to Create in us the character of the fruit of the Spirit ; gal 5 :22 and having that mindset and attitude ,which allow the Holy Spirit to indwell the temple, our body, 1 cor. 6:19, whenever a we pray.
Eph 6:17……The sword of the spirit, which is the word of Elohim. So praying in the spirit means Whatever you ask ask in accordance with the will of God, and you know his will because he shows it to you in his word. You cant pray in the spirit of God if you do not know the spirit of God. You must first read the book he gave us, of his opinions, instructions, judgements, ordinances, laws. This is how we develop decrement of the will of God. Do not pray in a selfish spirit, a spirit of YOUR will. When you request of God you should always end it like Jesus did in the garden before his crucifixion, when praying to the father to spare him from the inevitable, “nevertheless Not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42
1 Cor 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. Paul tells us that when someone prays in tongues, they are praying IN THE SPIRIT. It is therefore a prayer created by the Holy Spirit, then sent to the vocal cords of a human by the spirit, and spoken out by that human, without any thoughts going through that human's mind. Notice Paul said he is speaking mysteries. The speaker of a prayer in the spirit has little idea what He or she is praying for or about. This person may imagine they are praying in a new Lexus, when, if they only knew, they were praying about being more gentle with their spouse! You see, GOD the Holy Spirit creates a prayer in the spirit, and God the Father understands and answers that prayer. Neither the pray-er or listeners have any idea what is prayed, for they are not speaking to men but to God and "no man underststands. It is just more proof that a prayer "in the spirit" is a prayer in tongues. On the other hand, someone MAY prayer a prayer "in the spirit" as prophecy, in their own language, but still will not have a clue what they are praying until the words have been spoken, for the process is the same. In short, before someone can pray "in the spirit," they must speak in tongues. Tongues come when someone received the mighty baptism in the Holy Spirit.
@kennythomas2516 He was primarily a medical doctor, trained under the best regime in Britain, and almost became THE doctor to king Geoge V after serving as assistant to Sir Thomas Horder. Providence had it that Lloyd-Jones would serve the remaining of his life as a 'spiritual' doctor; many rightfully labelled him as the Dr, although he would not advocate such an opinion or mindset such was his humility or soberminded opinion of himself.
Prayer is not worship and worship is not prayer. He’s very eloquently wrong. Paul said to the Corinthians, “I pray in tongues more than you all!” “When I pray in the spirit (tongues) my mind (understanding) is unfruitful. What then, I will pray in the Spirit AND I will pray with the understanding. I will sing in the Spirit AND I will sing with the understanding.” Only a reformer could dodge the truth so eloquently and with so many words!!
Worship is bowing down..... Bible tells of people coming to Jesus bowing down in worship to Him. John 4 : 24 was quoted to me by the Holy Spirit like this " I am a spirit and they that worship me must worship Me in spirit and in truth".
@@stephenrousan3104 explain please. Because we know tongues is in the Bible so what is your complaint? Serious question not arguing are you saying you are not a continuationist?
It is correct. Prayer n worship by definition is not the same thing. But much of MLJ's is correct in pointing out that "prayer must be Spirit led." I have listened to many preachers, dead and alive liberal n conservative from differing denominations. Sadly, I have not heard a perfect preacher yet, reformed or not reformed. We must be careful NOT TO DO THE DEVIL'S WORK in dividing believers over some disagreements. Although true believers are regenerated, made new creatures in Christ Jesus, nevertheless, we are still all flesh. But God knows those that are his. Let us speak the truth in love, bearing with one another as fellow heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ. There are no denominations in the Kingdom of heaven. God bless.
