It brings me no pleasure at all to report that Netanyahu is, indeed, a Hebrew name and not a Hungarian one. It means "YHWH has given"/"gift of YHWH", similar to the more popular name Nathaniel/Natan'el, "God (El) has given"/"gift of God (El)".
I never understood what "95% of the water is unfit for drinking " means. Is it like unemployment and that if you stop looking for it, you are no longer unemployed? I have 3 Criticism of chapo if anyone wants to defend them (just FYI I do love the show) 1. They throw economics out the window any chance they get. There are tons of good economic arguments for more left learning economics policies if you read up but instead they insist on calling economics a fake Science. Usually that would be fine but they are too smart of a show to dismiss a 100 years worth or research on the topic 2. Defense of authoritarian regimes. I do love when the show sheds light on the terrible terrible war crimes of the US government don’t get me wrong but that doesn’t mean they have to defend the horrible abuses of explicitly undemocratic regimes. Far too often the host excuse the disgusting actions of leaders in Cuba, the ussr, Venezuela, and others by saying “if the USA didn’t target them that wouldn’t have happened”. While the US has its owns crimes that doesn’t mean it’s responsible for the unconscionable actions of other world leaders. 3. It’s hopeless. The shows caustic, acidic nature eats away at its self and at the end of the day(while it may be very funny) leaves the listener believing that nothing they can do matters. The world is a terrible place in the eyes of chapo and the only thing that can be done is laughing at it.

I remember Amber noting that Cuban doctors that were sent overseas for humanitarian work never defect, she acted like this was a good thing.....Uh Amber, the very fact that they have to escape their own country to leave it means that Cuba is a failure in its lack of respect for human rights. And, gee, do you think the Cuban government sends doctors that it suspects might defect? Duh...they only send doctors that have families in Cuba, that is to say, the doctors that cannot defect without abandoning their families and possibly subjecting them to harassment. Currently there is a shifting away from the overly fit, contrived models which economists can control by changing reasonable sounding assumptions around, and toward using actual data which is more abundant and easier to work with than ever before. We are going from theories crafted to justify the social order towards making statements like ok there is no correlation between the corporate tax rate and job creation and no convoluted model is necessary to see that. Chapo seems with the times here. 2. The way the U.S. functions is it gives weapons and political support to foreign leaders it thinks it can partner with to repress and exploit some target country. So yeah, when you install a demon at the controls then when demons go and demon you are absolutely responsible. 3. Matt Christman once said "the system is broken and immovable". Can you really argue against that? His commentary, if not inspiring, is at least elucidating. What good is inspiration when you have no course of action that has any apparent force? The humor and the coolness of Chapo brings in normies and hips them to what is going on. That in itself is doing something because, I can tell you, the ocean of normies out there who are all plugged into the proverbial matrix are a huge component of the immovability. So just laugh your ass off and praise these people to your friends and you'll be doing your part too.
