I know you won’t have the truck very long but it’d be interesting to see how the powder coating holds up. I’ve seen many powder coated after market bumpers get rust bubbles and look like crap after a few years.
The "lower louvers" you mentioned. Is the active shutters for the intercooler. If un plugged they throw a code. I moved mine behind the active shutters in front of the radiator. (thinking if they open for engine, they open for intercooler)
Glad you did a video about this. I have a 23 silverado 1500 duramax also. Not much choice with the new style of front bumper and even less with diesels. I been looking for an offroad bumper for mine, good to see what fits and what mods has to be done
Great video and don’t worry about the haters. 99% of people who buy off-road trucks will never take them on anything more than a well manicured dirt road. There is nothing wrong with buying something for the looks. End of the day it’s your money and you make those payments so unless everyone else wants to contribute they can STFU.
How do you like the camera view after adding the bumper? It drive you nuts? Considering the forerunner bar versus their full guard. Also bodyguard bumpers offer a camera relocation kit.
Nice. Powder coating I'm not a fan of, but it looks great. How does that extra 200lbs effect that GM front end bounce? I don't even know if GM got that out of this generation of 1500 series.
@Pickuptrucktalk That's not really how that works Tim. The factory bumper is designed to deflect air up from below the bumper onto the Coolers. Radiator/trans/intercooler.
Just started watching the video so don't mind if I missed it .. but what did that drop your payload down to? It had to reduce it be a few hundred pounds with the winch and heavy new front end/bumper...
I haven’t done the math but likely 300 total. So 1200 or so. Just means I can’t max tow with people in the cabin. I regularly max out at 6k, so I’m good with passengers.
This bumper bolted into the slot where the tow hooks are on the truck. The bumper has the o-rings to add d-ring shackles. The shackles are like tow hooks.
The intercooler is the concern. They didn't know if it would fit without modifications and we showed it fit with no problems. Always one more thing to add to a video...

You lost me at $4000. But looks pretty good.
I don't usually like mods on trucks, but what you are doing is pretty darn nice Tim. Well done.
U knocked it out the park and it looks bad ass! From the sensor drilling and mounting to the two coats of powder coating. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Gotta admit it does look better than when I saw the still picture you posted. Looks like the powder coat got the paint match pretty spot on.
This was fun to watch. I hope you get enough views to keep them going.
Thanks for the video. Love my LZO. Don’t love the backordered covered under warranty coolant control valve issue though.

I think it makes the truck look good, and I love the camera quality
Nicely done, Tim. Love that LZ0 diesel.

Looks great Tim!!!
Looks great buy it will hinder cooling and springs will sag prematurely.
Well it looks nice. Should protect the truck, screw the one second delay to the crash systems that could cost the occupants grave damage.

Nice addition but you just killed the front end approach angle. Ditch the hook and go with a soft shackle.
Do you think you'll add the matching rear bumper in the future?
Nope.
Just got a 23 LT Silverado. I’m having trouble finding a bumper that will fit the post refresh 2022.5-2023 trucks. Did this require any modification?
Modifications only for the parking sensors. It bolts right on otherwise.
How close is the winch cradle to the radiator, and how's the temp to the turbo?
In the places where they salt the roads that stuff lasts about 2 weeks and it all stops working
What stuff are you referring to? The OEM parts or the parts Tim added?
Tim, you cover the cooler in front of cooler with the new bumper. Could be a problem when towing.
Nope. The transmission cooler is much higher up. This doesn’t affect that cooler ons bit.
@@Pickuptrucktalk what about turbo’s cooler?
@@arashjamali8731 all the cooling is above the bumper. This new bumper doesn’t block anymore air flow than the stock bumper.
@Pickuptrucktalk That's not really how that works Tim. The factory bumper is designed to deflect air up from below the bumper onto the Coolers. Radiator/trans/intercooler.
@@terrencejones9817 the factory louvers are still installed. We will just see then what happens with temps. So far, so good.
2023 GMC SİERRA DENALİ 1500 3.0 I have a branded vehicle. Can I get information about whether this bumper can be installed?
Sharp looking bumper

@@Pickuptrucktalk awesome upgrades, Tim! I wish I could purchase it from you when you do sell
Hi Tim, what happened to the tow hooks? It looks like there are cut outs/space for them on the new bumper for them to remain?
This bumper bolted into the slot where the tow hooks are on the truck. The bumper has the o-rings to add d-ring shackles. The shackles are like tow hooks.
Can someone put a link to this bumper?!???
Here you go: fabfours.com/product/chevy-1500-matrix-front-bumper/
This will fit my 2023 LT trailboss duramax?
@@corbin3431 I don't see a reason why it wouldn't. The High Country and LT TrailBoss have a similar front-end structure behind the lower bumper.
Hey Tim this link doesn’t work do you happen to know how else I can buy this?
Looks like. I still think it's a waste of time on a Highcountry.
BTW the reason they say it probably doesn't work, is for cooling.
Fab Fours told me directly they just hadn’t tested it to fit yet. Their concern was intercooler getting in the way.
When you trade this truck next month, the next owner is going to be happy.
Part # ……please!!
For which one?
Looks kinda funny without a small lift kit. Doesn’t really suit that truck!
I can't imagine being forced to use a front license plate, looks so so bad.
Do they say not for turbos because it blocks air from the intercooler?
