    It takes me *minimum* 15 minutes to really iron a dress shirt well. I’ve been doing them for years. I agree with the “use a water bottle,” (a can of starch is even better,) BUT only set your iron to the highest setting if your shirt is 100% cotton!!! Any sort of synthetic or cotton/polyester blend and you have to go lower or you will scorch/burn your fabric. (Always test in an unnoticeable area first, like a very lower end of the shirt tail.)

      You've been right all your life. The iron board is designed to iron shirts. When ironing the back of the shirt, the narrow part will hold the top portion of the shirt perfectly, giving you a nice platform to iron.

    I'm sorry but you HAVE TO do the back of the shirt unless you want to look like a Hobo who rolled out of bed.
    Shirts of different colors show wrinkles even more.
    Plus when you're at you're desk, your back is facing everyone who approaches you.
    Not a good look if your shirt is wrinkled.

  • @xSkitZx
    @xSkitZx 7 років тому +4

    For fucks sake children, he said this is only if you are wearing a jacket, that's why the sleeves and back are left. Granted, it's nice to be able to take the jacket off but if you're in a rush to get out and you don't have a shirt ironed, don't take the jacket off. It's a compromise to prevent lateness. Obviously you're going to iron the whole thing _if you've got the time._
    Christ alive, it's called common sense.

    I appreciate that he at least used the right side of the ironing board. Okay here you go,. Start off with a hot iron with water for lots if steam. iron the back of the collar and touch up the shoulder area. Iron the back of the sleeves. Now turn the shirt inside out and iron one front panel very well, touch up the back and then iron the other front panel very well. while you're touching up the back you can hit the back of the shoulders. Done.

    You did not show how to iron the sleeves which is the most challenging because of the pleats.

    A. That shirt was already ironed. B. He only ironed half of it. C. In the UK ironing boards don't have an "other end". The other end has a rest for the iron and even if they had I can't think of a single reason that you'd use that end to iron a shirt.
