The problem is too many people in this country are UNDER-educated. We don't need a comedian for President, we need a real leader.
That's why there should be Civics 1, 2, 3, and 4 as part of the high school curriculum! No electives. Also, a course in the college curriculum should include political science. It makes as much impact on the people as science, language, and mathematics.

I'm a Brit, and whenever it was announced that Barak Obama was due to speak, he was the ONLY President I would actually make a point of listening to.
He is, without doubt one of the most inspirational presidential speakers of the 20th Century. The content of his speeches was always well researched, the language was intelligently chosen, and the measured tone of his delivery was immaculate.
Regardless of the subject, the overall effect was that one always felt better informed - and a better person for having listened.
Trump's speeches are not only rambling and predictable disasters, they also continue to arouse acute embarrassment, and a vague feeling of feculence.
You just love those word salad speeches with fancy words but no meaning or consequence lol. He didn't even write them. Did you also love this 250k syrian casualties and ensuing refugee crisis?

Of course, speech writers are now part of every W.H. staff, but most Presidents will rigorously edit and contribute to the final draft. This is clearly evident when comparing the quality of each President's address.

Trump has never been funny. I don't think his fans prefer simplistic word salads, they enjoy the permission to let all the hate flags fly.
How he speaks to them and how he speaks about them is adjusted for the audience. Just like how he addresses his consituents.
Conversely, think about how he talks about his voters. He speaks their language when talking at ralies, but what he likely says to world leaders about his supporters behind their backs would make their heads spin.

Obama speaks as an educated person. Trump speaks as an uneducated person. Their rhetorical styles are entirely dissimilar.

Honestly, I'd rather listen to someone like Obama 1 billion times more than Trump. To me, Obama DOES speak like a normal human being. Trump meanders and often runs on and on about things that have nothing to do with anyone but him. He HAS no jokes. He's really not funny at all, to me. And the fact that he has finagled so many followers has made him even less funny. Obama spoke clearly, succinctly and all without being over our heads (to me, anyway). The way Trump speaks is just very cringe and scary because he's unable to convey messages that are above grade school level. Which makes him all that more dangerous. I want a president that thinks and speaks and understands concepts at a higher level than 4th grade. I don't want a president that can only communicate like a clown without the costume.
