for those of you who are curious, this seems to show the first steps in the sugar making process, from sugar cane being chopped finely, then mixed with water and rolled to extract the sugar. What is not shown is the second half of the process, where the sugar liquid is processed into sugar and molasses. At least, thats my best guess. I dont see any evidence for evaporation chambers or centrifuges.
video could have been excellent if it were filmed better and some info added for the machines being used.

How does a contraption like this survive? In Brazil, much larger and more modern sugarcane mills than these were swallowed up by even bigger and more sophisticated ones.
