    There were models of sugar mills from Stork in the technology Museum in Hengelo when I last visited. They were made as a sales aid and had great detail.

      Yes, most of the kit was historically from Stork. When I first went here all the milling engines were from Stork. When the mill was modernised, two of them went to Kanigoro where they can be seen in another of my videos.

    thank you Mr. Rob, because of your hard work, we can watch the documentation you made, I know it's not easy, you did a lot of struggle for everything, you spent a lot of time, you spent a lot of money too. everything you have done is a very useful inheritance for the next generation. always healthy Mr. Rob, may God always take care of good people like you. I'm sorry if my words are not quite right, because I only use Google translate. Greetings from me, Wonogiri, Central Java.

    I believe this is the factory where my father lived before 1942. My grandfather worked in a sugar factory, this particular one from what I can tell. Thank you for sharing.

    Even after modernization, new technologies, the good old steam engines are reliable under robust conditions. Old is Gold.

    Very old DCDS sugar factory with high workers strength, high expenditures due to manual working, high cost of wear n tear, surprised to see. How can they manage the cost of production for 1 kg of sugar

      A lot of these mills were kept open in effect as a government job creation scheme in the hope of reducing the drift to the big cities.
      What killed them was the fact that the farmers could make more money with other crops or by selling their fields for housing.

    • @internationalsteam
      @internationalsteam  3 роки тому

      @@RohmanChannel21 Not really. Many years ago you needed a visa in advance, but that was easy to get. Then it became 'visa on arrival'. By our standards, the air fare was not too expensive.
      I used to get permission to visit from the Surabaya HQ, again that was no problem, because it was known that the security at Semboro required it. Other mills were more 'laid back' and friendly.

    This year Tasikmadu only works to produce sugar for 1 week, and maybe next year Tasikmadu will not produce anymore, there are 2 steam locomotives that are used as tourist trains around the factory area. TM 1 and Colomadu 3, and the Schoema CSL diesel locomotive number 6

    • @internationalsteam
      @internationalsteam  2 роки тому

      That's very sad news, unless I have missed something that will just leave Majukismo in the south side of Central Java?
      With Gondang already a museum will TM become one too? Or will it just become a fulltime theme park?

    • @damaalfian
      @damaalfian 2 роки тому

      @@internationalsteam I see Madukismo is stable in production, Gondang is a sugar museum, Banjaratma is a rest area, Colomadu is also a tourist spot.
      Tasikmadu is trying to support Mojo by dividing the sugarcane fields, because the farmers in Mojo don't want to plant sugarcane. I also share this information with Mr. Joachim Lutz

    38:58 still wondering why they use cow instead locos or truck

    • @internationalsteam
      @internationalsteam  3 роки тому +2

      Nothing is simple in Java. Until recently there was a large element of providing employment in rural areas in the mill operation. A locomotive would have been overkill for the quantities involved and the distance so short between the mill and warehouse, it would have taken longer to load a truck than use the bullocks. Simply this system was tried and tested and did the job!

    • @kjokkenmoddinger6291
      @kjokkenmoddinger6291 3 роки тому

      i thought there were gauge differences between field line and warehouse because cape gauge depo is near the warehouse and i saw it too in this video. I made papper about work condition in few factory in karanganyar for college task several years ago TM included, you right about providing employment for locals 😄.

      @@kjokkenmoddinger6291 It's 15 years ago now...
      It would make a lot of sense as very long ago they would have been able to load directly into vans to go to Kemeri instead of having to tranship.
      As you say, it's in the right area of the mill.

      It would have been in 2006 or maybe 2007 just before the mill changed from carbonatation to sulphitation. The two processes can be seen in the video of the mill in action on this channel.
