I swear US and UK always has great deals on good LEGO sets. I feel here in Canada the deals hardly ever exceed 20% (if it even gets to that), and it’s usually on only average to undesirable sets. Not saying there’s never good deals here but they’re very rare
We are very lucky in the UK with some of the discounts we get. I know some of my Australian viewers have mentioned that they struggle to get good deals as well.
Argos purchases make me nervous every time. The minifigures in each of the sets you have a very desirable-minus Harry Potter sets lol Interesting how some of set have a limit on the number you can buy. The best sets for us are the Star Wars sets and the Black Smiths very jealous ❤
Nice Haul Iain. Some very good savings. I have found Smyth Toys has some outstanding savings on all of its Lego. Prefer to visit store and inspect condition before purchase. Delivery can be hit and miss. I found DPD and APC look after the items the best.
Thanks Mark. I have been to Smyths before, but my nearest store is half an hours drive away, so unless their deals are fantastic, then I tend not to visit.
I said this in another video a few days ago. If you tell amazon about the damage to the sets, they will compensate with 10% sometimes 15%. So if its got a decent sized nick then check with them. Its not an exploit, their job is to package them properly. So they are more than happy to compensate damage
@@iainsbricks yes they let that be an option too, but if you dont feel its damaged badly enough to send back. They will give a bit of money back regardless
I really don't agree with anyone buying these sets for profit as the prices become ludicrous, I hesitantly would describe it loosely as a form of scalping too. The lego old fishing house is pushing £500 in a local lego reseller in St Albans and is beyond the reach of most especially as its original purpose is a play thing. Its not a collectable its a toy and shouldn't ever be treated as anything other than that I feel. I couldn't justify spending that. So Ali Express and three weeks later I have it sitting on my room table doing nothing more than the £500 one except its being played with.... very Toy Story-eqsue I know. But good luck to you and your endeavours.
This kind of thing has been going on for years, not just with Lego, but with anything that can be considered collectable. I only buy sets from retail stores so everyone else has as much chance to buy sets as I do. At the end of the day, if something is too expensive, people won't buy it. Thing is, people do buy it - I do try to keep my prices when I sell at reasonable levels / market value.
My wife said she wants a divorce about 30 minutes ago....My first point of call was to take the keys to my BMW X5, drive to McDonalds, and watch your most recent videos on FULL VOLUME in the seating area whilst enjoying a caramel iced Frappe and 2x chicken mayos Everybody is looking at me whilst i type this, but i don't care what others think about me in the present moment, as long as i get to watch Ian's Bricks undisturbed...
You sound like a resourceful person with good priorities. Iain’s videos always deliver that feel good factor. Take care and never let anyone stop you enjoying Lego.
