Good call on not buying sets if you can't get them at a very good price, just wait it out and the deals will come. I'm probably done buying until black friday (week).
Hi Iain. Thank you for your video's. I have learnt a lot from you over the last year. I specialise in Lego technic, so have been busy buying a few on that retirement list. Appreciate all your advice mate. 👍
As you said you have to buy what your interested in to make it interesting. I like cars, bikes and heavy trucks/crane's. Hopefully I'll make a small profit on my investment in a few year's. 👍
@@waynevosper3407 There is definitely a market out there for Technic and you will make a profit, but it may also be worth investing in other themes as well.
Doing exactly the same my friend, not spending so much on Lego over the summer … will be pushing hard towards the end of the year on the retirement sets. See you at Bournemouth in a few weeks!! 👍
Thanks Peter. August is generally a quiet month for Lego investing. Hopefully there will be loads of good deals and opportunities throughout September and October
😂 I get my pur having kick through watching your Lego hauls Iain. Fantastic sets. The police station is a must have ❤ and The Venom heads could have some nice growth next year when the next Venom film comes out. Thanks for another great video.
Hey Ian nice to see another video! For Amazon it has the parcel journey on the label below where the QR codes are at the bottom. There’s 3 letters+number codes for Amazon locations, you can Google them will tell you where it started. I believe it should read left to right of what warehouses it went through before entering the logistics network.
I ordered some 501st battle packs on sale at the end of last year from amazon germany. They all shipped individually and half of them were damaged, when i told amazon they gave me a full refund for the damaged items AND LET ME KEEP THEM. I doubt they do this with their bigger sets. But its a possible thing that could happen if you get a damaged box on a small set
Hi Iain, where do you get the bags from that you put your sets in at the festivals? We're moving house soon and I want to put built sets in bags (then in moving boxes) to keep all the pieces together if they get dislodged. The ones you use (I'm looking at a Scooby Doo Lighthouse set that I got from you at Weston Super Mare as I write this) have a nice weight to them. Some of the food type bags in Tesco etc are quite thick, not so good. Thanks, Roy
Hi Roy. I just get the bags from different sellers on ebay. I've used a seller called pricesplash before, although they don't have as much stock / range as they used to.
Hi Ian, I too was hoping to pick up a 10278 Police Station before they retire and was delighted when John Lewis reduced them by 20%. Especially as I have a family member who works there and gets 25% staff discount :) The only other modular building I have is Assembly Square which was a fantastic 15 hour build so I will be building the Police Station to go alongside it. Do you have all the modular buildings since 2007? Another great video, thank you. You hadn't uploaded one for 2 weeks so I thought you were on holiday 😂 All the best. Brian.
Hi Brian. Thanks for your comment. Great that you can get an extra 25% discount from John Lewis. I did have all of the modular buildings, however I sold the only copy of the Brick Bank I had, which was sealed, at my last Brick Festival. I don't have the Jazz Club yet either and although I have the 2 Diners, they are still both sealed. I have all of the others though (including Market Street) and they have all been built at some stage.
Nice haul! uk amazon is pulling some nice deals and with a voucher you could save a few quid. I did the same and picked up the city fire station for £15 after a £15voucher. Singapore skyline is 45%off (£30) City apartments 33% (50) The firestation was 30quid 2 nights ago ,went to 39 then dropped to 30 again a day later so don't really know what happened 😂
Hi Ross - no, I'm afraid I don't. I only every bought one Hidden Side set, which I got at half price from Sainsbury's. I sold it at one of the Brick Festivals I went to.
Hi Iain, yes the Police Station is gone from our Certified Stores here so it's retiring. I found them to be a good source of what will be retiring as they actually mark most on the sets online, not always but once they mark them as sold out they don't come back. Good haul. Keep an eye out for Mr Oz from Dreamzzz as he has a space logo jumper torso but it's not in Mr Oz Spacebus set 😊
Hi Caron - thanks for the info on the Police Station. We don't have any Certified store here in the UK, but there are a few around Europe. Fingers crossed the Police Station does retire this year. Just googled Mr Iz - love the space jumper / white coat torso
I'd skip the whole investment content and showing off your LEGO hauls gets you nowhere. Sorry for the honesty Ian but we are brick lovers after all and some have the funds and some don't. I myself sit in the middle, love building sets but got a few that are too rare to open the box. You see ? It's just plane stupid to not enjoy them, a sealed LEGO box in the basement feels wrong. Hell I just crack them open and build them with our little son this winter. What I am trying to say, you are at your best with videos like the one where you showed us the Barracuda Bay Set. I loved it and so did you I guess. Cheers from Munich mate !
Hi John - thanks for your comments. I do like to build Lego, but I also enjoy buying sets , keeping them sealed and then selling them on. I've been to a few Brickfestivals and the joy on some people's faces when they get find that sealed set, like new, of something they have been after for a long time, it equally as special as building a set like Barracuda Bay myself.
Hi Iain, great video as per usual buddy. Keep up the good work. Do you have an email address I can contact you on please as I have some sets you might be interested in. Many thanks Neil
"I've been saving money and not buying as much Lego, so sorry for the lack of videos."
Proceeds to show 2 modulars 😂😂
Love it Iain
Lol. Well it's all relative I guess.
Great Haul Iain, I am sure you will do very well with these investments.
Thanks Mark. Fingers crossed you are right!
Great haul!
Thanks for watching

Thanks for being first to comment
Hi Iain. Thank you for your video's. I have learnt a lot from you over the last year. I specialise in Lego technic, so have been busy buying a few on that retirement list. Appreciate all your advice mate. 👍
Hi Wayne, I tend not to buy that much Technic as I think there are better performing themes out there.

Hi Lee - I'm expecting there to be lots of deals as we head through September into October. See you at the Brick Festival
Meant to ask Iain, how’s the signal for the Sun Up machine in Bournemouth? Cheers!!
Really enjoying those haul videos! Good luck with sell on brick festival 💪
Thanks. Not long now!
Nice haul Iain, good to see a video of yours again. But like everybody, you of course cant keep spending. We all know the problem 😉

The Princess Leia Helmet is on sale in Argos, 20% off and the Medieval Blacksmith set is 20% off at John Lewis if anyone is interested👍
The,Leia helmets aren't retiring this year so didn't get any of those, but did get a couple of Blacksmiths. Just waiting for them to be delivered

That's good to know. I've been quite lucky recently that my sets have been arriving in good condition
Loving insiders. Boosted my points by about 400 scanning the qr codes on front of manuals yesterday.
Excellent. I haven't done that yet, but will soon.
I'm gonna get another of the modular Police Station, so i can MOC the one i have to be double the size.
Excellent. Bet that will look great once finished
It’s always good to take a break and recapture your thoughts. After all It’s a busy world Lego collecting and selling 😀
Thanks Simon. Plus, the gwp's from Lego haven't been that great this month. Hoping September will be much better.

Hello Ian, What is your favourite personal Lego build that you own?
Hi. I really enjoyed building the Nintendo NES and the Question Mark cube
Been too long since your last video Iain. Great to see you back as missed seeing these.
Thanks Jody.
I've had issues with John Lewis also
I've had a few problems, but generally they are not too bad
I can not wait until September 1, 2023. Going to the lego store in toronto.
Excellent. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the new sets released in September

All this Lego investing is all good and well But do you have a plan to "cash in" on the investment ???
Yes, I go to Brick Festivals a few times a year to sell my sets, after I've held onto the sets for a couple of years
