    Speaking of Assaults (22' 850) you or the big man have an opinion on 6 or 8 inch Slim Jim Doolys for C&A's with a 2 inch lug? Preload is set for 245 lbs. Was set on 8, but hearing conflicting opinions on that.

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 роки тому

      I would not go with a set of doolys. You’re going to loose front end grip not gain It. The doolys split the pounds per square inch and actually decrease grip. I would recommend a set of 8 inch mavericks

    Could you discuss more about when one would want to tighten up the front limiter strap. No matter what adjustment I make, the front always seems too light & wants to push. Wondering if tightening the limiter strap will help get more ski pressure or is this not a good idea? Thanks!

    • @MrJeffyb69
      @MrJeffyb69 2 роки тому

      Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if you want more ski pressure you "loosen" the strap. Also, maybe run the rear shock in its softest setting and set the coupled block to its thickest setting as Jesse and Bruce were showing>

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 роки тому

      Hey Doug so short answer is yes. Shortening the limiter will increase ski pressure. BUT before you did that what changed did you make? What sled? How much do you weigh? What torsion springs? How much preload on your front ski springs? What carbides?

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 роки тому

      not correct. Shorter strap is more ski pressure because you're pulling the front of the track off the ground. you could change couplers but there are a ton of other adjustments before id go to the couplers!

    • @youareright5431
      @youareright5431 2 роки тому

      Just a major warning if you tighten up that front limiter strap your sled will be unstable at speed!! I did this last year and at 60 mph you can catch an edge on the trail and toss you off in your side!! Shaper bars are the way to make any sled steer I've been running the 9.5 inch shapers for two years now and there awesome,I also run modified Xtra hd rear springs I bent the tangs but after watching this video I probably bent them to about the regular HD springs 👍 Also run the least amount of preload you can in that front shock spring 👍👍

    • @dougwalters1332
      @dougwalters1332 2 роки тому

      Thanks Jesse/everyone, what I have tried to get more ski pressure to date is: rear springs (stock/std) on stiff setting, reduced the front ski spring preload but still have some adjustment remaining, & am running 6” Woodys dual carbides.

  • @peteysixtyniner
    @peteysixtyniner 2 роки тому

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 роки тому

      You are absolutely in need of the XHD springs and shock revalving for many reasons. 1. Slow the rebound down so It doesn’t pogo with all that soring. 2. Becauee you need more dampening force due to your weight 3. Would Also recommend stiffer front ski springs because of your weight.

    What’s better on gas a 650 or 850? I’m assuming the 850 Boost is going to use more gas than the 850? Maybe a question for Bruce when riding with a riding group a 100 miles and someone in the group has a 650 and someone has a 850 and they weigh the same and have the same tracks are both gas gauges the same at say 50% or is one 45% and one 55%?

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 роки тому +1

      gas usage is strictly based off throttle usage. I ride and 850 as you know and everyone i ride with has an 850. i normally get 2+ more gallons when we fill up because my excissive throttle usage. some would go for a 650. There is no way to break it downbecause its dependent on the rideer. Im sure the boost will use more as it needs more fuel to match the amount of air getting shoved in its throat

    • @djg1028
      @djg1028 2 роки тому +1

      @JESSEJAMES322  2 роки тому +1

      As Bruce said the bigger springs with less preload will actually feel more plush. Even on an XCR you should have a valving change to slow the rebound on the rear shock done. but aside from that you will like the ride much better in my opinion. They will support you and the sled much better

    • @JESSEJAMES322

    How’s the assault handle on the trails compared to an xcr 136?

      Assaults handle great. I would be just as fast on an assault as i would be on my XCR hands down

    First, it would be nice to see what we get in 2022 cause were still waiting on our order from last March 2021. Now were talking 2023 Snowcheck. Not cool!!!!

      i know i know. But life must go on. Some guys drew the extremely unfortunate pill this year. I know it sucks and i would be upset as well but the manufactuerers still need to keep doing what theyre doing. Dealers are CHOPPED on sled orders because POLARIS does not want this to happen again

    Will the Velocity high low with rebound that are on the CC race sled possibly work on the 2022 Assault?

      the fronts would work but the rears on an assault are different lengths.

    Was expecting a price increase but 1300 bucks more for identical xcr as last year is a bit much in my opinion

      Maybe if everyone just settles down and stops buying for awhile everything will catch up and the prices will come down. It seems like money is no option any more for some people so the manufacturers can ask what ever they wants and they still sell everything. Dam covid!
