- I Took My 22 Year Old Snowmobile Into The Mountains
In this video, you'll see me testing my 2002 Ski-Doo Summit 800 in the mountains and taking it up hill climbs, in trees and all around the backcountry.
"Maybe they just never seen a real machine before" had me laughing 😂
😂
1972 Elan would crush it…if you can get it to start.
“ when in doubt, throttle it out! “ wisest words ever.
King of no gloves
Hell yeah I’m the same way haha
Dudes rhe Martha Stewart of bloody knuckles 🫣
Fax
no way that thing was pulling the right RPMs
We have 2 of those ZX chassis 800 Summits, and still ride them all the time. Yours would benefit greatly from a different rack, that particular 151 was a pretty poor design. We have a 159x2 Camo extreme, and a 163x2.5 Powdermax 2 on ours, huge upgrades and really make them pretty capable climbers. Of course, holding a sidehill on set up snow is still nearly impossible lol.
Great job on the video!
Why didn’t you adjust the clickers on the clutch to get more RPM out of it?
I love the old iron.... u don't need to spend 20k to get into the sport and have fun.... keep em coming...
These were some of the first 'real' mountain sleds. Well, it started with the 97 Polaris Rmk 700 and everyone was playing catchup. When the Summit X came in, then the race was on. Cat finally joined in with the M chassis.
Man this is some good content… I wish I was able to pick something up that nice for that cheap here in Canada. That would be worth at least 3000 here!
He said he paid 1000 loonies for it I bet he is canadian
probably from bc
Haha I did pick it up In Canada but I spend way to much time on Facebook Marketplace lol
@@McBoostOfficial That’s awesome, what part of Canada are you located? If your out west, makes sense.
Yeah i'm in Nova Scotia and you just don't see these type of old mountain sleds for sale i recently just drove to quebec for a 2001 summit 600 for $1500 and it was a steal for me lol definetly would sell here for $3-3500 here.
Judging by the gauges, it's an 03. Fun sleds, definitely my favourite chassis ski-doo ever came up with!
Good looking sled! Sounds like it's not revving out like it should. Maybe clutch work or carb tuning.
Lot of smiles and giggles for $1000 bones! I'd say EXECLLENT purchase!
Glad to see the old girl held up! great video and I’m stoked for more!!
She's a beast of a 02!
Picked exact same one up this last April, in Northern Ontario. Unusual machine 'round here. Electric start motor swapped in. Eager to try it, we just got our first snow. To use off-trail. Same eye-catching colour scheme.
Love recently uploaded vids of the sled's I grew up on
I've been ridding a 92 rxl, tons of power on packed snow, not the greatest in powder then I got a 98 586 skido summit and I think it's awesome. Don't want to ride a new one and can't afford it if I did probably wouldn't like these old ones
We have our old 2002 summit 800. Aftermarket tunnel with extra long hillclimbing track. Aftermarket clutches. Still run it in the Sierras.
I think you need a classy new wrap for the turbo sled to match the stunning colour scheme of your new machine!
Haha id have to get one for the Widescape as well!
@@McBoostOfficial not a bad idea! The widescape would look amazing all dressed up in blue and yellow! Lol
lol we went everywhere you go today….with our 20 year old sleds
Definitely worth the money and the fun it provided, as well content seems to have paid off too!
Takes a few rides to get used to the ole tub but you aren’t even scratching its potential get a pipe and can and some reeds on there and it really opens them up
And some clutches forgot about them
I have a 1996 ski doo summit engune swapped with a 2002 550 fan engine in it and my friend has a 1997 summit 600 they are solid sleds and if you know how to ride an older sled they can go through anything you throw at it
Most of the time have to just stand on thortle its either going to throw you off or go where you wanted ;D
I test rode this snowmobile in deep pow when I was 10 years old, it was brand new back then, and I was really amazed how well it handled compared to my Yamaha SXR500.
when you go up that high make sure it's hitting the right rpms.
I LOVE UR CONTENT BRO DAMNNN. YOU DESERVE MORE SUBSS
Haha Thank you
FRRR HE NEED 22 million
Honestly your shots/videography is good af! Keep it up!
That’s a pretty impressive machine for being 22 yrs
2 things, First of all please adjust the clutches so you can get above 7300 rpm, second of all USE THE BRAKE! these old machines dont rev like the new ones and have a lot more rotating mass, you need to keep the throttle pinned and use the brake to modulate your speed on the sidehill etc instead of blipping the throttle. change these 2 things you will shred that machine, they are quite capable in the right hands.
What madlad sleds without gloves!
The old skidoo still looks sooo much better than the new one and sounds better to!👌
Awesome video. Got a 2001 still ripping. Greetings from norway
Good stuff man
This video may have convinced me to want an older ski doo summit rather than an Arctic Cat FireCat
Firecat is about 100lbs lighter, handles better, is way more reliable, faster, and will take a jump better. Firecat's suck ass in deep snow though.
@@reesewilliamson3346 i mean crossfires good too, but the new Riot crossovers are really nice, but the price compared to old firecat off of facebook marketplace... ehhhh
it must be miled out or something. not revving up all the way. that old sled needs a tune up to show its true potential.
definitely needed to crank up the clickers on the old girl
I'm honestly kinda glad I don't live in the mountains... 😅That looks like a sore back for sure
LETS GOOOOOOO!!!! My FAVORITE UA-camr just posted a video!!!!
That thing definitely needs more track. a 144 with 2 inch lugs just definitely not enough track for that sled and that kinda snow. cool sled nonetheless
Dude I have a Yamaha Viking from 88 and drive similar slopes here in Sweden. Okay not the steepest ones like there but that skidoo is a good machine👍💪
love the vids
Everyone should experience a machine like this before buying a new one. Just to accurately teach one to ride. I never even had a chance to ride this sled, the 144 was just out in the show room before i was force to stop riding. This was my dream sled , but never could afford it.
it doesn't exactly sound like its making full power, pulling the right RPM's.
These young guys with money think something is gonna suck because its older than them and cheaper than a brand new sled
Keep up the vids your my favorite UA-camr
Stay consistent, results are coming. You got this bro.
Only a grand!? Nice
Greetings to the Red Helmet Bro!😎
MCBOOST PLEASE HAVE A MEET AND GREET !!!!!!!
king of no gloves, and i love my 800 02 summitt
That summit was a hot rod 10 years ago. Lol turbo sleds weren’t even a thought
love the videos man keep it up
this one was epic!!
Cheapest? Ahaha, I got both of mine in a package deal for 700$
Babe wake up mcboost uploaded
Don’t underestimate the ol ski doo
Nice video. But try not to do so many video cuts. Every three seconds is way too much
skidoo elan would out class any sled in the snow and reliability from 1971 to 96 any day of the week
the original god sled
Amazing that was only $1000.
One’s you WILL get a million subs
Yo old sleds are so much more comfortable to ride
try a 550... its hard
try get a smaller main jet when at those heights
Hello McBoost :)
Hello
Wow no helmet at the beginning!
1000 to get into the back country isn’t bad but you’ll be beat to hell after day one
if ur snow flap wasnt stuck all up in ur track u will get better cooling
An other great vid keep it up❤️
That arthritis is gonna be horrible in your hands later dude. You definitely need gloves lol
So far you prefer this bad boy or the widescape?
I got two parts sleds for around 200$ they didnt run but i hope to get them running
Strange looking dirtbike
This looks sick! 5:30 Where is this located?
What drone do you use?
Sko do huh it’s ski doo
Sounds like she is about 1000 RPM shy on WOT, Clutching or jets need some work.
The weirdest part of this video is you not wearing gloves 🤨
i'm gonna be honest i have a 2003 legend 600 sport 121' extended into a 136 inch half lug big bored 680 tuned clutched geared and my sled dose way way better then what that 800 is doing idk i with it's not running right it don't seem like it has much power tbh
Ur amazing
very cool not everyone can afford 30000 for a sled u used for like 12 times a year
Are you the real Muskoka?
Where was this?
do you always ride bare handed?
Whats up with the no gloves lol
No gloves?
here since 700 subs
Where I’m from that sled would sell for 3000$ to 3500$
How the F can you go bare handed
no gloves, isn't it cold? 😅
How the hell.you guys find these sleds? 1k? I call bs that's a 3k sled in my area smh
Hello
bro doesnt even have glovess
Are you done with it now ? Sell for the 1000?
Still better them any Polaris ….
I’m gonna be the 9th
Thats not cheap 1 cheap
Hi Bro i love your content But Please dont kill your šelf like Ken block on these machine
ARE YOU CANADIAN.. IF SO WEAR YOU GO RIDEN AT?
why the no gloves? are you just built different?
Can I have your sled
In the cheapest one
The
Alright I ride a 1999 rmk 700 and I can do more than this guy
But you are still better than me
And there is something wrong with it mine has instant power and that should have the same thing but to todays stander not instant
