Another silly little boy didn’t watch video the drama is in the title & by way used to be driver MiddleEast & Europe get my fun winding up so call expect s have a nice day
hey Luke. great video as always mate! on the point about "more driving" love to see more of it, but i understand your concerns with it. something that might be a middle ground where you don't feel like you have to keep talking, but people get to see more driving as well, could be a time lapse like you use to do. not every video of course (takes up all the storage and would not be a quick render i would imagine!) just a bit of food for thought though of course! Love the content either way! also hope you're back is feeling better now, make sure to take it easy!
One quick question: when it comes to air pressure on the trailer, the truck provides it, correct? If so, how come the truck could not detect that the pump providing air to the trailer had to work harder, therefore hinting at a potential air leak?
No you are fine we come along for ride. This is what truck drivers do, drive for hours wait for hours to get loaded/ unloaded, fix niggle faults with you truck. But you enjoy being on the road. As long you get from point A to B via E and K. Be safe out there.
Sympathies for the back injury. I suffered one last July when a car driver ran into the side of my cab at a rapid rate of knots. His fault and all on dashcam. I still have issues now but it's getting better as I mostly do trailer swaps now. The car driver was lucky I was doing a favour for the boss and only in a 18t rigid, it would've been worse with the artic. Had my licence 1 year now and loving it. Give a shout out to Murdock from Northumberland one day :)
i totally agree with helping other drivers, this morning had a richard lester driver who had a dead battery, i jumped him with a battery pack and he offered me money told him no as we're all drivers and we help out when we can :)
I am paying nearly that much for a full bag of logs for the woodburner, so those stones sound cheap! Enjoyed the blog again thank Luke, take care out there.
Great video mate. Maybe a tip from a local, to save going past to the roundabout and coming back on yourself, go to J2 of the M27 (Next one from where you come off) and down the A326, over a couple roundabouts to a dual carriageway then slide left. give or take same time, maybe a minute slower. Whatever is easiest for you
That book you recommended, essential truck guide , well I’m willing to sell to you Luke , give me 10p. I learned an e expensive lesson listening to you .
Hi Luke, just a thought regarding the 'more driving' request, a while ago you used to do some time lapse which used to be quite fun and no need for talking. Can't remember if there was a reason for stopping this but maybe worth revisiting. Many thanks for the content and hope your back and your eyes are on the mend soon!
Great video Luke! I hear what you’re saying about the more driving and talking. I’d love to hear your pet peeves on the road and maybe for the new subscribers you could talk about yourself a bit like how long you’ve been driving (I know you briefly mentioned it in this video), your experience getting your license and what challenges you had to overcome. Have you been driving for all of your career or did you do other things first?
hey Luke, what you could do is have some forward camera driving shots (3-8 seconds) and have them put together so it jumps around to various bits of the driving and then just play some low volume royalty free music. i would say something like a time-lapse sequence of the winding roads would fit now and again.
Air wouldn't be leaking out of a wire Luke, a pipe or air line maybe.....but not a wire 😅 as for the air leakage, it probably didn't do the compressor on the truck any favours having to constantly run to keep the pressure up
It wouldn't affect the truck or compressor in all honesty. The compressor will always be "charging" the air system. It has probably given the "blow off" valve a little more longevity though!
In regards to the more driving questions you've been getting, have you considered doing driving time lapses? That way you don't have to think of stuff to talk about. Enjoy watching the videos especially since I'm in the process of doing my tests and training 😅
Hi Luke, hope you are well, especially your back😃. Me and my hubby had just gone half an hour's driving pulling our caravan, when we heard the same tic, tic, tic, tic noise. Pulled off at Stafford Services on the M6, and what had happened was really a rookie mistake. The electrical wire hooking up from the caravan to the car, had been trailing on the floor, and had worn through the black covering to the wiring. So my hubby spent over an hour, piecing the wires back together. It worked, and we would wait until we returned home to have our mobile service engineer to fix it, which he did. Also, the light issue, just wondering whether it could be the fuse? OK, just got to the bit where its intermittent. Looking at that parked car when you turned left. I wonder sometimes whether the type of people who do these stupid tricks ever passed their driving tests. No one would teach a learner to park like this, and its not in the Highway Code either. Having problems of what to say, my advice is to do what Ned Kelly Ireland does. Talk to a puppet. He is so funny🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi luke just new to your channel and loving it so far keep up the good content and just wondering is your truck automatic or has it got a very smooth manual gearbox
Luke, that trailer should have been looked at by a competent person before being loaded, they may have been able to do a temporary fix to get you back to the yard or even fix it. This video could lead to some unwanted attention from the DVSA if one of their enforcement team is down on their "target points" (which they say they don't get, but they do have targets to reach!). If you were to be pulled into a check point, they would be rubbing their hands. The trailer fault was almost certainly a PG9 and fine. The air leak on the suisse, possibly another. The indicator fault could also be another PG9, although I would think that would be a suspended one if not repaired at the check point. I read in your reply to another comment that your boss would pay for any fines that you received. Your boss sounds like a very nice person, however, I'm sure the unwanted attention from the ministry wouldn't make him happy for long, especially as his OCRS would be a lot lower than before, which intern would attract more ministry attention. Please forgive my negative comments above, I write with experience of the above. I do enjoy your videos and I reminisce of my time travelling the country each time I tune in and watch them. Keep them coming, but please leave out the machinical defects from you videos so we can all continue to watch you travles 😉

Hi Luke. Can I ask why you didn't get a break in whilst the trailer was being fixed? Seems like a good place to get one in to reset your hours and just wondering why you didn't. Still learning here.
I tried to, but the repair took less than 30 minutes. I was in the yard for more than 30 minutes, but I was continuously moving the truck around. at one point, I unhitch the trailer. Pitched up to another trailer to take photos for it to be sold, and then reversed into the unit. All of camera. I was in the yard for about an hour give or take, but my truck was not stationary for more than 30 minutes at any point
I got pulled in my car for the extra brake light (above back window) having a couple of the led’s out. My main brake lights were fine so I thought I was all good. Traffic cop said..if its factory fitted then it must be working. Luckily no ticket just a warning and told to get it fixed.
Just goes to show that traffic cops make up their own rules!! They are correct in saying that if one LED is lit on the "extra" break light then at least 50% should be working. However, if you were to disconect the additional break light, then that would be fine and wouldn't fail an MOT

If the tractor unit loses air or has an AIR LEAK then there's not enough pressure to push back on the spring brakes on the REAR DRIVE AXLE so the spring will apply the brakes ON THE REAR DRIVE AXLE ONLY and lock the wheels so you cannot move.
If however there is an AIR LEAK on the trailer then it's dependent upon whether that leak is on the primary service system or the auxiliary emergency system.
If the leak is on the service system then you could very easily lose the air in its storage tanks and this could cause brake failure. If its on the red emergency line then the drop in pressure would activate the emergency system which will release the air from the storage tanks to force the brakes ON.
