    A tip, if it hasnt been mentioned yet... put a piece of tape on each end of the drivers side air line so when you place the bracket on the hitch crossmember, you know which line is the drivers side, so you can put the drivers side on the drivers side and the passenger side on the passenger side, so you know which side you are filling.

    Instead of mounting the air valves on the receiver frame, run them up through the bottom two license plate bracket holes. That way the bottom two holes in the license plate are your air valves, use chrome caps, It looks good and it’s easier to fill and check pressure.

I have 3.5" lift from Rough Country kit and purchase Firestone 2" Axle Bracket Extension. Brackets doesn't fit probably because my lift rear is only 1.5"

    Use kids bubbles when looking for air leaks. Nothing works better. Pour some in a little container and use a small paint brush to apply it anywhere you need. Blows big bubbles you can't miss if its leaking.

    I noticed that you had blocks to lift the rear. That's fine but if you notice the Airbags are way offset from the leaf springs. The bottom bracket is designed to rest on the axle (with your lift it doesn't!) I had to fabricate a piece of iron that would bolt into the bottom bracket so that it would touch the axles I have 4" blocks in there as well. Just thought I would mention it since I didn't see it in the video and that bottom bracket will not hold 5k pounds without the extra support. Great vid!

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the feedback Ryan!!...I actually have the extensions installed so they do rest on the axle, Firestone makes “bracket extensions” (part # F2506) for this exact reason, great tip for anyone who doesn’t know this though!!...I have the link for them in the video info section as well, thanks for watching!!

    • @ryantaguchi6222
      @ryantaguchi6222 3 роки тому

      @@NitroZ18Fishing Oh good! was hoping that was the case! Also the part No is for a 2" block. Firestone only makes up to a 3" lift extension (part #F2507) so if you have a garden variety 6" lift on your tundra you need 4" extensions (rear), in which case you have to fabricate. I found this out the hard way but hopefully this saves some others. Again fantastic camera work and sweet ride!

    Torque values from Firestone Tech (they were not listed in instructions):
    Step 5 should be 15-20 ft/lbs on the Jam nut.
    Step 6 should be 10-15 ft/lbs on the flange nuts on the carriage bolts.

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Marc!...thank you!...and yepper, I looked at the Daystars...I personally don’t feel they’re needed, the people who really benefit from them are heavy off roaders, they basically allow you to have full articulation without risking damaging the bags...if you don’t do a lot of off roading or “flexing” your suspension they’re not needed at all in my opinion...hope that helps!

      You only use them to raise the truck after loading it down with whatever you’re trailering or hauling...for example, if the load weighs it down and makes it squat 2” in the rear, you would fill bags to whatever psi it takes to raise it back up 2”...hope that helps!

      Yea that’s a popular option for sure... they come in handy if you do a lot of heavy off roading, they allow you to have more articulation without worrying about damaging the bags… I don’t do a lot of off-roading at all so for me they aren’t needed… Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    Hey been following your chanel for a while, I just purchased the airlift 5000 ultimate and the ride is way to stiff and bouncy even at 5 psi. I had this ones on a diferent truck and work great. My question is did your firestone airbags lifted your truck even at 5 psi? And did it it stiffened your ride?

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  3 роки тому +2

      Hello!...thanks for following along, and supporting the channel!...these Firestone’s didn’t affect the ride at all, I keep them at 8-10 minimum at all times and I don’t even know they’re back there...as for the lift, they bring the rear up slightly but it’s not enough to even notice...I remember measuring after installing them and inflating to 10psi, but I can’t recall the exact amount of lift, but I do remember it was very minimal...hope that helps!!

    • @NitroZ18Fishing

      Hmm, that’s a good question...I’m not super familiar with helper springs, I’ve never used them...let me do some research for ya, and maybe someone can chime in as well...I’ll let ya know what I find out!

      Ok so from what I can see after looking it up, it seems like you would be able to, but I can’t confirm this for 100% certainty...Firestone actually sells a kit that includes helper springs and these bags that I have installed, so I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to install the bags over the springs...sorry I couldn’t give you a definitive answer, but it looks like it would work to me!

      Depends on what kind of lift, if you have any kind of block or spacer lift in rear where the gap between your leaf springs and frame doesn’t change, you’ll be able to use them!...I’m not too familiar with Pro Comp’s lift so I don’t want to give you any wrong info!

    Hey Patrick, I have a few questions. First off thanks for all the videos, we have a lot in common when it comes to our truck so your channel is very helpful.
    I'm thinking of installing the same air bags, I was wondering about the ride of the truck with no load. Is it bumpier than stock?
    Also noticed your bed rug. Is there a reason why you went bed rug over spray in liner?

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Joe!...thanks for supporting the channel, it’s much appreciated!...so with no load I keep them at 8 psi and don’t even know they’re back there...I could remove them and it wouldn’t feel any different at all...and I love that BedRug!... I originally put it in my first tundra because my kids liked to play back there and it’s padded/soft so it was good for them… But I liked it so much I’ve had it in all three of my tundra’s now… It’s extremely durable and it keeps anything I have back there from getting scratched when rolling around… Washes off extremely easy as well… Hope that helps!

    It doesn't matter how many airbags you install on your Tundra to level up the truck(because airbags do just that, level up the truck) it will not make it more capable. As I see your Tundra (a wery unique, kudos for that) you should not tow a trailer larger than 5 k lbs when is fully loaded( family, food, gear...) and no more than 5-600 lbs tongue weight. Just my two cents...

    • @Nobamaable
      @Nobamaable Рік тому

      Wrong...when it's at the stock ride height the braking, handling and steering are back to full capabilities. They are not designed to carry more weight... just to level things out within the spec weight.
