Wait, what? Combined pedals? Doesn't that mean you have throttle and brake on the same axis? Same pedal that is? Am I missing something here? Don't we all want it set on separate, since I presume we all have a brake and a throttle pedal? I don't think it means if your pedals are combined with the steering wheel or if they're separate and plug directly into the pc.
My understanding is that it's to select if your pedals are connected through the wheel base, or through a separate usb. The 20 odd drivers I race with regularly, all agree.
Even the ingame description of that setting says it's about whether the throttle and brake should be treated as if they were one single axis. That might be the reason why you had your brake showing input without you doing anything and you had to calibrate it so the game learns where the null points are. If the game treated them as separate, it would know where the end zones are. Check if the game can register you pressing both pedals at the same time. If not, try the separate option.
Really helpful Gwyn thanks. Couple of tips I picked up, if you want to remove an assignment you can do so by selecting the relevant one and hitting backspace. If you don’t assign a button for lights and wipers they’ll come on automatically.
Bore da fellow Welshman. I installed this game yesterday on a friends recommendation so this video is going to be very useful. I have the same wheelbase as you too which helps with the ffb settings as a starter. Much appreciate the detail you went into. Keep up the good work.
45:05 As said Borderless is great for tabbing and going back to windows. Though, it is good to know it can take you one or two FPS. When running in the Fullscreen the game has exclusive access to the resources, so it might be more beneficial on lower end PCs to squeeze every bit of performance. Great, I'll keep this in mind if I ever try it again. Tried automobilsita a couple of times, but couldn't make it work in VR properly.. also the fact that all the historic cars are an expensive DLC dampens my enthusiasm. If they made at least a couple of interesting cars in the base game I might try them out and get hooked. well might have, now that Raceroom has so many new historic cars I will be driving those for months to come :)
Friends with VR are saying that since the update, it works and looks amazing now. I have no experience myself with VR. Yes dlc is a bit annoying, but over 130 cars is quite an impressive amount. 👍🏻
Great work B4KER. I race in VR and I have just acquired my new Cammus C5. (an upgrade from my creaking 15 year old G27) I was working through the wheel settings then the update dropped so this video really helped to fast track me to a workable base setting. You say you were racing with the boys but kept spinning your Lambo. Didn't any of the boys think to tell you that your brake lights were always on ? Or is it that you are that good they tried to get any advantage they could, hehe.
Problem was I was spinning in the braking zone, so to them it looked normal as you should be on the brakes where I was spinning. But obviously when I was releasing the brakes, they were staying on. 🤦🏻♂️
Really good video mate. The ICM is still not able to be moved with triple screens is it? I have not been able to figure it out and it is stuck on my left monitor, which is not ideal for live racing.
This is a bug I just recently ran into as a new player. Assuming you are setting up your triple screens, there is an xml file called ‘triplescreensettings.xml’ in your documents folder that you can edit. Just open via notepad and you should be able to edit it. If you’re not setting up triple screens, there might be another file you can use. Make sure to restart your game after the changes are made.
@@flaviochyna7 Apologies, I realize this bug happened when I set my values for the monitors but I did not have the issue with setting the FOV. It doesn't look like FOV is in option in that file like you mentioned. There are a number of other files at the path where the game is installed. I could not find the file that lists FOV but perhaps with some digging around you might be able to find it and edit it. Good luck I know its frustrating.
Try this, initially only brake 80-90%, then go to 100%, then trail brake to the apex. It's very easy to lock the brakes, even with abs on. You can also adjust brake force per car.
Awesome video mate. I've got the MOZA R5 and also found Default + to be best but have found if I leave gain at 55 and drop LFB FX and Dampening to Zero, it felt so connected. Would like your feedback if possible.
Thanks. What you have suggested, should be THE MOST connected to the car, you possibly could be. I like a bit of FX and have settled on about 40, I've got the low force boost at 3 and damping on 10, with gain at 75. Then I find myself adjusting each car's ffb until I like what I feel. You Sir are on the correct path, but these things are subjective. Feel free to add anything you find at a later date. 👍🏻
Neither do I, but it feels good. 🤣 I've been trying different stuff out myself. And unbelievably I've only been playing AMS2 3 weeks, but when I looked for setup videos, there wasn't much out there. So thought I'd share what I had learned. 👍🏻

Correct. Also, not much has changed with config options.
its gotta be pedals plugged in to base

Fantastic video!
Thank you for this, very handy for those new to the game!
No problem, a lot of us were in the same boat, so hope it helps. 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Awesome work as per usual !!
Cheers D. 👊🏻
Great job and great info Gwyn!
I love this sim in VR it's amazing in the Pimax
Great reference doc. Thank you.

@SimTaffy new to pc it's daunting any tips how start using it and where start first
Thanks for this. I learned some new tricks.
No problem. Glad it helped
I see the best car ever rear, i click. 😂
Excellent stuff 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks ❤

Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry it was so long, but a lot to cover.

I give this video like and hope you will run ads to promote your nice channel
Thanks, I hope you keep enjoying the videos. 👍🏻
How can we move the stuff in the hud now?
Ahhh, you have to be in car and exit then options. I was trying to adjust out of car, the edit hid didn’t even show up
Do I buy all the DLC for AMS2 or do I wait for AC EVO ..?
Great stuff Gwyn, Thanks 🎸🪘
I can't save in 1.6 any idea why that message is popping up all the time
Can't save what? I'm sorry but I've not encountered any issues with saving.
@SimTaffy anything, no setups, no changes in the menus, no championships.
Sounds like the game doesn't know where to save stuff. I'd wipe and reinstall the game, see if it renews the save location, file path.
@@SimTaffy did all the above. But even that doesn't resolved that issue. Very strange, it's the only game in my library that has some kind of problem

Let me check and get back to you. I'll mention it in an upcoming video and hopefully someone will chime in with the info.
I can't set the FOV lower than 88. I change the value to 40 and it goes back to 88 by itself. Can you help me?
Sorry, but no idea. Maybe a bug? It's only 2 days old. I'll investigate. 👍🏻

I've been told that FOV should ALWAYS be 54???
I can't understand why you are adding effects to a DD wheel , isn't that for low end starter wheels such as g29 as is low level boost?

Fresh install of the game. I can not modify triple screen settings. I set the value, press enter and the old value replace my setting
Sorry, I'm on a single screen, so I have no idea about this subject. 😥
But I do race with a few on triples, so maybe I'll collect some info and do a follow up video. 👍🏻
Had this issue yesterday, only worked for me after manually entering the values from the xml file under documents. Just edit with notepad
Render frames ahead is always better "1"
Ok, I'll try it and edit the description. Nice 1. 👍🏻
@@SimTaffy might change nothing on your setup but more than 1 can insert some stuttering.
@@jacopocolombo4360 I've not noticed any stuttering at all, and I'm very susceptible to these things. Will definitely try it out though.
Combined??? you know that means on the same axis, like a joystick. If you have separate gas and brake pedals, you should choose separate.
Another commenter pointed this out too. I stuck an edit in the description. 👍🏻
