  • Worried about dry conditions and lower water levels this year? Or maybe there's someplace you always wanted to go, but the water was too shallow and the mud is too hard. The patented design of the Roost shallow water mud propeller can keep your boat on plane with less than half of the propeller in the water! Watch the amazing shallow water capability of the Roost on a Mud Buddy Mini 23 EFI when paired with a light boat! The Roost is the ultimate propeller for when there just isn't much water.

    A couple of years ago we modified a unit like this for a “special mission” . The upper bracket that you see with the three holes was replaced with a gas shock. Right after the gear box, a truck CV joint was installed and a hinge point for the output shaft. They intended for the skeg that’s below and protects the prop to hit multiple submerged objects at great speed and not have to move the entire power plant when it occurs.

    I don't understand how the boat is moving so fast when less than half the prop is in the water? Is there another prop or something?

    • @RoostMarineLLC
      @RoostMarineLLC  3 місяці тому +1

      Nope! Just one prop. That’s what makes the Roost mud prop so awesome. It keeps you going even where there’s very little prop in the water. We also have another video doing the same thing with a bigger boat too.

      @@RoostMarineLLC That's cool. Thank you for the reply. Your website talks about the prop not needing to go deep into the mud but uses the water on top. What if you get into mud though? Real mud mud. Is it gonna push me through?

    • @RoostMarineLLC
      @RoostMarineLLC  3 місяці тому +1

      @@andys5562 Mud is not required for the Roost to perform well, but when you do find yourself in lots of mud, the Roost does amazing. It has a ton of grip in the mud and will provide that grip with less submersion than conventional mud props.

    How does these props do in deeper water ?

    • @RoostMarineLLC
      @RoostMarineLLC  Місяць тому

      They do well. They have good top end and carry a load well. Biggest thing to remember is to trim up quite a bit higher than with a conventional mud prop. In full water depth it’s best to keep half the prop in the water for full speed. Trimming up super high, like in this video, is to let you run super shallow water without wearing down the prop or getting stuck.

      Actually, it’s much better than a conventional mud prop. Since the Roost does not require digging in the mud to get and stay on plane in shallow water, it leaves the mud undisturbed. Unlike conventional mud props that leave deep trenches in the mud wherever they go.
