I used to see Jimmy every day in Tooting, London. Lovely fella. He didn't drive, so he'd walk everywhere. You'd hear him coming before you saw him through the many calls of "Morning Jimmy!" he'd get from the locals. It was like a wave coming down the street that'd get louder the closer he came, "Morning Jimmy", "Morning Jimmy", "Alright Jimmy",... before you knew it you'd turn around and he'd be standing there. He'd always politely say goodmorning back to everyone. I've met him in a few snooker clubs over the years with his manager/mate/ex-player Tony Meo too, and was lucky enough to have a few frames with him. Even with an 80 start, he'd blow me away before the reds were gone. Top fella. An inspiration to all snooker lovers, and just a genuinely nice lad. Tooting to the bone. Shout out to the old Zans crew.
I didn't even know Jimmy was from tooting, I lived there for a few years.
Just think how p******d off he would be inside, having to hear that every morning, tens of times, would get tiring after a short while, but the price of fame hey?
Kirk Stevens’ joyous appreciation is one of my all-time favourite snooker moments.
Guy in the white with the long hair?
Great comments there lads , that White v Stevens game was a Final and that was Jimmy in his Pomp winning with an incredible clean up , Kirk had made a magnificent 147 in that match too , it's one of the best games you'll ever see . All the best lads .
Same here. I thought that was brilliant.
@@jedross2136 that’s Kirk
and docherty tapping the table
My dad's favorite snooker player. I grew up watching him. Bring back memories. Thanks. 👍
Darts isn't a sport right or snooker
What then if not sport? 😊
@@matimus100 you're right, it's a card game
@@matimus100why are you obsessed with what is considered a sport and what isn’t? WGAF?
Compared to the abysmal quality level of this years World Championship, I can say the snooker world really missed Jimmy.
Just fantastic to watch what skill he had,my favorite two players to watch, jimmy and Alex just amazing 👍
HAS Gwen. He still HAS it.
Certain players have kept snooker a tv sport and Jimmy is definitely one of them
Coked to the tits by his own admission all through the 80s early 90s
Jimmy was and still is a fantastic snooker player. I’d rather watch Jimmy’s tremendous cue power in action and be thoroughly entertained than a highly technical and tactical match. Still one of the greatest players even though he has never won the World championship ( I know he’s won the seniors ). 👍👍
I can Google search and find a fair few names who've won the world championship that I've forgotten despite having watched the matches. So many memorable moments and matches from Jimmy that I'll never forget. Legend and my favourite player of all time.
A quick fire 40 plus break from Jimmy believe or not is far more entertaining than a lot of centuries hit by his fellow tour pro’s
Agreed without a doubt.I would sooner see a quickfire 40 of 50 break than an old Hendry 147.
Jimmy is a magician - he even made his hair grow back!
It strange because he's the only person iv ever seen who's hair doesn't fit them 😂you would think with the money he has he could get a good piece ffs
@@dannymack8653 If i remember correctly didn't he start some hair regrowth treatment or hair implants.
lol, he should be in the Magic circle, and not the Snooker cirvuit as no chance of winning a tourn these days.....But if he enjoys competing.
The man who made me love snooker. There’s no shot he can’t make on a snooker table. Incredible snooker brain and experience.
He can't pot all the reds on the break off shot.
@@fredjimbob2962 he also can’t pot a world championship. Hopeless
@@rhendry5832 Yeah, I don't like watching Jimmy play. Too many bad positional shots and "accidentally" potting the white etc. And then he gets angry as if it isn't his fault and it's just bad luck. But it's not bad luck, it's just bad shots. No bad shot is ever his fault. Glad he never won the world ch. "Former world champion, Jimmy White" just sounds wrong and wouldn't be good for snooker's image because of Jimmy's personality IMO.
@@fredjimbob2962 agree with you. Annoys me that he thinks he’s a fantastic player. He won fuck all and is an average player that thinks he’s as good as Ronnie, Stephen Hendry or Steve Davis. He’s in a dream world. A bottler!
@@rhendry5832 To much snorting C🤧
Sheer and absolute genius, just amazing to watch. Thanks so much for the video.
Along with the hurricane and the rocket the whirlwind was the most entertaining and exiting player in the game. I think Jimmy was able to do things with the cue ball that others could only dream of.
Unfortunatley, it made his arms weak, as it stopped him lifting many trophies.
Just love the guy. I could watch him all day long.
That was a great video and quite a tribute to a man that played this game with the best. It’s so nice seeing him still out there giving it a “whirl”
Am I the only one that saw what you did there🤔?
@@paulr6881 Considering that he used quotations to emphasize the pun, I'd say it's pretty easy to see what he did there..
The man is a legend, both he and hurricane Higgins were my memory of the old snooker days
I was a fan of both back in the day, but they turned into p*** head w*****s.
I hadn’t seen a lot of these. Great compilation, thank you
No one has ever surpassed Jimmy White’s skill on a snooker table. No one.
Apart from everybody that’s beaten him in a final.
Yeah Ronnie’s a much better player
@@WIPEYOURLENZ If it wasn't for likes of Hendry and Davis, Jimmy would probably been a multiple times world champion. He lost His first final to Steve Davis, at a time when he was considered the best, and then 4 times to Hendry who someone could consider the best ever. Also ost a final to John Parrot who was an amazing player. Too bad for Jimmy, the competition he was against on his prime was unreal hard.
A.Higgins.
@Tuukka Salminen it's definitely true that in all Jimmy's 6 finals he never once got lucky by his opponent playing badly,I remember very well when everybody were saying this is Jimmy's year when he played parrot in the final, but parrot produced throughout that final absolutely flawless break building snooker and breezed to the title, parrot never reached that level ever again, jimmy though only really has himself to blame for not winning 2 of those 6 finals when he was in winning positions in them both.
Always has been and always will the greatest player to watch
Lucky are the audience in the stadium who watched him play.. in Ultra HD!
The most gifted snooker player never to win a World title
The things he can make with the cueball are outrageous!! Even nowadays, he can play some incredible shots, that no one can repeat...
@@uzbirglones I think at Eurosport Ronnie was tasked to recreate one of Jimmy's spin shots (the brown from Hamburg 1993). Ronnie started by saying "I can't do that" - and after some attempts it was clear he couldn't. I mean, many players have quite some cue power, like Kyren Wilson, or especially Judd. But even considering those older, slower tables, that allow for more "grip", Jimmy did some truly outrageous things.
Snookers not a sport right
@@matimus100 That depends on how you define a sport.
@@nightowl7459 ignore him he's a troll comments on all darts videos as well, sad bastard!!
Fantastic stuff from Jimmy “The Whirlwig White”👍
LOVE TO WATCH
I loved watching Jimmy play... snooker was good in them days.
BACK IN MY DAY
Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker on Amiga. Classic.
This is an example of one of the best goats in snooker that doesn't have a championship medal to say he's the best 👏🏾
My favourite player of all time.
When Jimmy pots a ball off 4 cushions, it is not a fluke. What a champion.
Jimmy the king and the best 👍👍👍
Lovely to watch
Fantastic! 👍🎱
Most naturally gifted snooker player ever in my view…..wonderful to watch in his pomp! 😊
He brought beauty to the game.
Absolutely top
Class
Really enjoyed that
That's Jimmy White at his best.😁👍
That first clip was CRAZY!
Incredible..!
All though i was a Stephen Henry fan....Jimmy white was magical
Legend. Wish he could have won a world championship his talent thoroughly deserves it.
Either way, he has been one of the sports great entertainers, always love to watch him play.
AWESOME CONTENTS
AWESOME GAME PLAYING
There we have the world champion who never was, runner up many times. But his contribution to snooker is massive... The peoples champion for sure.
Amazing compilation. And to quote John Virgo: "Have you ever seen anything like that... on a snooker table??!" xD
Best player to watch ever loved watching him as a kid growing up
The best player to watch, ever.
Considering how much faster the tables used to be, unless you've ever played snooker, you have no idea how much of a genius Jimmy white is. Not even Ronnie can create that sort of action on the cue ball.
They were slow back then
I agree- how can he hit the white so hard, yet it still ends up just where he wants it and the colour zips into the pocket like it was laser controlled? I am lucky if the cue ball is within three feet of where I intended
Jimmy could've been the GOAT if he won a world championship at the crucible.. 6 times finalist.. just one win wouldve catapulted him.. Just like what happened to Ronnie.
Can't believe you didn't put his white ball stun pink shot in!!!!
It's in another video
Amazing skills.
At best, he was unstoppable.
The only annoying thing about this video is that I now want to watch all these classic matches again..👍
Absolutely outrageous talent
The man, the barnet, Mr Jimmy White!
The man who got me hooked always be me favourite kidda
Jimmy at his best 👍
1:07 wow that blue just teleported way
Good old jimmy. used to go to school with him and he lived in my road in Tooting. What a ledgend
Brilliant
Jimmy, always be our no 1
Played him last month in Thailand. I didn't win, great talent and great guy. Playing him again soon. 😉
WoW!
Unbelievable shots 🙂❤️
It was a breath of fresh air when the whirl wind blew onto the Snooker scene, and the window is still wide open.
Higgins was first to play like this
How refreshing to see a White exhibition shots video which DOESN'T include the grand masse on the brown . . .
Legend
1.30 the glaring bald patch of Jimmy White, never to be seen again
Absolute genius
Not only is he the best player who has never won a world championship, but also better than many who have.
Better than most** who have
I witnessed his greatest trick shot in a snooker hall in preston, he made 3 grams of cocaine disappear up his nostril in 1 go!
That ferret he's got glued to his head moved I think.
Great jimmy white, decent human being
my favourite
I used to love when the old school announcer would introduce him as "The whirlwind of london town "go on jim
Alan Hughes wasn’t it?
@@sensational_cellar8606 Yes him with the curly hair great mc.
He makes pockets look like buckets.I could play pool pretty well but never snooker. The pockets at range are so small.!I think my highest break was 1.
The greatest cue action ever
Especially in the years between 1981 and 1984.
Simply magic.
Yep. Most cue power ever.
Nunca vi ninguém bater como Jimmy na branca...
E nem vai ver

I saw some Ronnie O'Sullivan highlights and that was great. But this is just outright ridiculous. Unbelievable stuff.
Yea but his positioning is quite a bit worse than the greats of this game.
1:53 Am I missing something special here or is this just a long blue?
Thanks for this great video!
My favorite snooker player and one of the most talented players to ever grace the table. Too bad his nerves never allowed him to become world champion.
My nans snooker hero, i always remember watching the snooker with my nan as a child,
when you watch these really enjoy them and move your pc mouse and find the red bar near the end telling you funs nearly over😵
He was like Trump but I think Jimmy's style of holding the cue and aiming low was unique and looked the best of all the cue actions.
because Jimmy has an ultra heavy weighted cue, it allows him some exclusive power shots
Unmatched in cue power this man
Stephen Lee
Jimmy always played for the people... To entertain the crowd... Never for himself.
Its what he wants to do, so its also for himself in the end
2:44 the brown disappeared
Straight blue in the corner pocket. Crazy.😆
The first shot was the greatest shot I've ever seen
It was a nice safety I'll admit but come on he's hit far better shots than that! Have you seen his famous back shot that not even the great Ronnie O'Sullivan has been able to replicate?
What an amazing player who hasn’t got that ultimate chance of being World Champion yet
Judd Trump - Look at my "naughty" snooker
Jimmy - Hold my beer kid
Higgins went for even more absurd shots than Jimmy. Snooker has slowly transformed from being an exibition game to a percentage game.
Jimmy is a Da Vinci of the baize.
Why all the past tense comments? He’s still going. Got into the European Masters just gone and he’s qualified for the Northern Ireland Open with a very nice 137 total clearance in the decider.
👍👍👍
Legendary Irish Jig.
jimy white : the craizyest player snooker
ok so its widely available on you tube but you didnt include one of his most famous shots of all time? The halting cue ball off the pink shot?
The bloody balls just disappear in some shots
Go the whirlwig, what a syrup 😂
Snooker was too easy for him!
