This is the first of probably a few beach glitter tumblers we’ll be doing tutorials on! I love beach tumblers and this version is definitely one of my favorites!
STEP 1: Make sure your tumbler is sanded, cleaned and free of all debris. You’ll want to wash out the inside with warm dish soap and water. The tumbler shown in this video is a 20oz traditional from www.crafthaven.com/20oz-Tradi... 🖤 use code FLYNNSISTERS for 10% off!
STEP 2: Spray paint your base colors with the following spray paint colors.
Top blue color: amzn.to/2XcpnSS
Middle teal color: amzn.to/2TncSTd
White wave color: amzn.to/2Xfwn1t
Gold bottom sand color: amzn.to/3gamTgw
STEP 3: dry your spray paint in front of a small space heater (do not leave unattended) until paint is dry and cup will be warm. Apply less than 1-2ml of epoxy and apply glitter. Start with the chunky glitters first and use the smaller cuts to blend. All the glitter shown in this video can be found here www.peachyoliveglitters.com
Colors used: Earmuffs, Lapis, Semper Fi, Head Over Teals, Weesley, Weekend at Bernies (or Mr. Lomax), Parabatai, Bliss, Athena, Goldmember
STEP 4: allow the glitter layer to dry for 2-3 hours and seal with a clear gloss spray paint. We prefer this one amzn.to/3d2nCOE
STEP 5: apply epoxy layer. For this 20oz tumbler we used about 40ml to coat the first layer. Allow that to dry on the turner for at least 4-6 hours. Then apply about 15-20ml of epoxy and mix 1 drop of epoxy dye into 5ml of epoxy and use the white dyed epoxy to create the waves.
STEP 6: after at least 8 hours sand as needed and apply your decal. Apply final layers of epoxy.

They sale really fine sand & small sea shells at the dollar tree. Adding some of that while adding the waves on the gold glitter with a few tiny sea shells to make a 3D effect would be really cool. Tip tip 😉😉
That kiss cut!! Omgee I would have never thought of that 😫🙏🏾🙏🏾
I know I am super excited to try this!

I also do acrylic pouring, so I watch lots of those videos too. I’ve noticed that I tilt my phone around to “help” the artist with their pour! LOL! Today I was shaking my phone so I could “help” you mix your spray paint!!!! I guess I was really in to the video!!

💙
Its pronounced "LA-piss". Egyptians used it for their amulets and other jewelry. It is a rock called Lapis Lazuli(LA-zoo-lee)and ground up into powder it is called Ultramarine.
this is amazing!!!! Thank you!!
Glad you like it!
I live in Florida and I love beach scenes, your is beautiful

THank you :-) Gnarly would be pretty also. That's such a gorgeous color. Thank you!
Flynn Sisters Boutique Great!! I’ll post it in the group!!🥰🥰
I LOVE peachy olive glitters. I myself am a Georgia girl and her glitters are THE BOMBDIGGITY. BUT, they are always sold out of everything. 😔 like everything. Makes my heart so sad! PS.... beautiful tumbler as always Jess. 🖤
thank you! She's working on the stock issues. Due to Covid, she's having supply chain issues and staff shortage. This isn't the norm for her.
I understand that for sure. Well.... I do try to get all my glitters from her. I just LOVE them AND she’s local.
Love this, I use acrylic paints so I can paint inside plus its allot cheaper
Jessica can you do another traditional beach tumbler with newer POG colors
I’m late, I’m sorry! I’ve been terribly sick the last few days! Another cup that you rocked. I love it Jess 😍💜
thanks! i hope you're feeling better!
Flynn Sisters Boutique thank you, I am feeling a million times better! 😊
That’s an awesome tip!! How you weed the smaller stuff afterward #Mindblown lol
Thank you so much! I’m addicted to your videos. Is there anything else I can use for the white swirl other than epoxy dye?
Thank you 😊 you can use acrylic paint (just a small amount) or CCDIY armor art or white alcoholic inks
By far my favorite beach tutorial! I have never understood why anyone would use such beautiful glitter and then cover it up with alcohol ink. This one is perfect! Thank you for such an amazing tutorial. ♥️
thank you so much!
I don't know if you came up with that weeding to get the tiny details and letters or if you are passing it on from where you learned, but THANK YOU for sharing! I LOVE tiny details, and this has worked FLAWLESSLY for my last few. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!🥰😊😁
thank you so much! Happy to help!!
awsome
Hi, Was wondering if there is another color like Earmuffs and head over teals that you recommend? I have been trying to order but it's sold out and I love that one.
You’re cup looks so great! I love your channel! I’ve definitely learned a lot from you. I have a question, I got some of my spray paint inside of the cup around the rim, how do I get it off without ruining the outside portion?
thank you! you'd clean that up with some acetone and a paper towel.
What do you do with the glitter on your paper? Do the colors get mixed when you shake the tumbler?
Beautiful tutorial!! Always so easy to follow and understand!! Btw which foam inserts do you use for your cups? foam footballs or pool noodles, and how do you keep from getting spray paint on the inside of your cups?
I use noodles for now and if there’s exposed areas of the cup I mask it off with blue painters tape but it’s also easy to clean with acetone if some gets in there
Thank you for such a great tutorial! I have white mica powder but no white dye. Can I substitute the dye for mica? Will I get the same effect?
No you’ll want to use acrylic paint as a substitute
Can you list where to get the torch you used?
Love this beach tumbler! Is it best to use alcohol ink or acrylic paint with epoxy for the waves? I'm in the process of making my first beach tumbler
Thank you. You can see how i make my waves if you watch the tutorial. I dont use acrylic paint or alcohol ink. Epoxy dye gives the movement and cells for a more realistic wave.
Hello, awesome tutorial, after you applied the decal how many coats of epoxy? And how much. Thanks so much!
I think about 2 coats of 10-15ml each
Hello. Beautiful cup. Instead of epoxy dye, will white acrylic paint added to epoxy for waves work as well?
Yes it will! that would work fine just use very little paint.
Quick question - do you use different epoxies based on the type of cup that you are doing for the types of glitter or shape of tumbler? Different viscosities perhaps? Or are you basically giving a bit of advertising for epoxies? How do you choose? Such a beautifully crafted cup! Wow!
Yeah I use different ones for different projects but also want to represent options for you guys since i don’t think epoxy is a one size fits all product
What a beautiful cup. The glitter is amazing!!! Thank you for these videos and making them look so easy to do. What is brand is that transfer tape? I really need those grid lines.
amzn.to/2WUJki0
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you. Just bought a big roll but the tape is plain. Smh
Love it! Can you use acrylic white paint mix with epoxy for the waves also?
yes definitely!
Flynn Sisters Boutique thank you
Thank you so much for all your awesome tutorial!! I have to ask, you said after 1st coat of epoxy to wait 4-6 hours, so do I not have to wait for that coat to be cured? If not this is going to be great for coating times!
No you don’t. I use Alumilite and I will literally go straight into another coat after 4/6 hours as long as there’s nothing I need to do first like a decal or sanding - then I wait at least 8 hours
This is my go to video for my beach cups! Especially for the waves! I do have a question though, about how much pigment do you add to the epoxy?
1-2 drops. Very little
I am somewhat new to this and I love this one! I am going to try to make it this week! Can I ask what you use the blow torch for?? I haven’t seen that before.
thank you! I use the torch to pop any micro bubbles that are in the epoxy for a crystal clear finish.
Flynn Sisters Boutique. Can you use a heat gun as well?
Tiqua Upchurch yes
Couple questions for ya, first did you "prep" the cup before you spray painted it? Second, do you sand it after the waves or before?
Yes I did, and no I didn’t sand before the waves
What was the black thing you used over the decal before removing the transfer tape?
i think a credit card lol. i just use that to scrape over the decal so it sticks to the transfer tape. you can use a vinyl scraper or anything you've got on hand to do that.
Love it ! Which torch are you using for Allumilite epoxy ?
I found it ! Thanks for another great tutorial!!
Where did you find it?
amzn.to/2X7NmDW and then you'd go buy the green propane camp fuel cans from Walmart or something
I love seeing your work!!! What kind of transfer tape do you use if you don't mind telling me please and thank you!!!
amzn.to/2THgMqb
Thank u so much!!
Can you do a cup like this with just fine cut glitter
A tutorial?
