@@darthmully That's according to the Revolver Super Deluxe Box set, but that would make the song be in Bb, which is NOT a key Lennon would have written a song in (at least not on the guitar). I slowed it down a little so it's still way faster than the record, but it's in A (instead of G like the record) and it sounds a lot less cartoonish. ua-cam.com/users/shortsTLlO6B8IafI
When yo u see a really old guy walking along the street give him a smile 'cause he probably was listening to the Beatles back when he was a young dude like you. It could be me :)
Yeah you right! The drums and bass jump right out and grab you on this song, and everything else, (lyrics, vocals, guitars) is perfect too. They even flip the tape around and give us some backwards vocals at the end. The Beatles were ahead of everybody!
One of my favorite Beatles songs. They got that "droning" guitar sound by recording it in a higher key and then slowing them down in the playback. They were extremely innovative in the studio. BTW, I like the Bee Gees too!
this was essentially the Beatles inventing psychedelic music... early 1966 and the first psychedelic song that received widespread play on AM radio I was 11 years old and I used play this record over and over again... couldn't get enough of it
Ever since I Heard this song for the first time, I loved it. One of the best ' forgotten' and underrated songs. Notice the outstanding drumming, bass play, John Lennon's Voice. Fab4-ever!!!
I bought this on first issue - always thought it was one of their best songs and under-rated. Fascinating recording original techniques used. Ringo reckoned once it was his best drumming performance.
I personally think the beatles were one of the best groups of all time. There's no doubt about it Paul McCartney and John Lennon Was two of the best song writers of all time. But what made them such good partners was They didn't write songs the same way. No one Can wright A better love song, then Paul mccartney, but john lennon was more Of a just Tell it like it was Person. Those two type of Writers make them perfect as partners.
Grew up with the Beatles. First time I saw (heard) them was on Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. I woke up this morning with one of their songs in my head. Have you listened to any of their albums? I'd recommend Hard Day's Night, Help, Revolver, Abbey Road, and the White Album. If you can do one side of the album per reaction, that's the best way.
The word "forgotten" doesn't even enter human language when speaking of ANY aspect of the Beatles, and certainly not the music itself. More serious study has been applied to and more words have been written about the Beatles than any other entertainers who have ever lived. Hundreds of millions of fans over several generations all around the world will confirm this. I'm a proud 60-year Beatlemaniac myself. BEATLES FOREVER 😃
This was in reality a double A sided single and was one of their best they ever released as a single - in 1966 no one on this planet could touch what they were doing in the studio - sadly, in 2024 that is still true, but I am a patient man - still waiting for someone to come along that can approach the level of ingenuity that these 4 men exhibited - hope springs eternal!
Black people thought the BeeGees were black at first, because of their sound, then they found out they were white. Thay stopped playing rock in 1977, and went with disco.
Beatles are the GREATEST...never to be surpassed ❤
They actually recorded this at a faster pace, then slowed it down for release to give it that trippy sound. The real speed Ringo is flying !
wow thanks was not aware of that

Born in 59, I probably saw them on sullivan, from the time I can remember I was a beatles fan all the way up thru hs. My dad hated them.😅😅

I agree 💯.

It was the 2nd. Eight Miles High was the first. It's guitar solo was innovated but kind of sloppy.
We love the beatles breadth of fan base. Your right drumming like never before. Everything is the greatest in this song
I agree. A real masterpiece!
they are the greatest band of all time. They were way ahead of their time.
👍🏼 agree 💯
That was what was amazing about the Beatles they could write masterpieces only two or three minutes long and do it repeatedly.
I agree 💯

Lennon wanted it on the A side, but McCartney wanted Paperback Writer instead.
They have more 3 minute classics than anyone else. Then their songs got longer but still classic
Short and sweet but good
They refused to play concerts in the US if the audience were segregated and they were so massive they got their way.
Amazing legendary 🙌🏾

@LesDoesitAll-l8b Marry Christmas.....🍏
I think it was Tom Petty that said, "there us the Beatles and then there is everyone else!"
🔥
Almost all songs were shorter than this even back in the day
For the Beatles, just a obscure B side of a 45. Any other band it would have been thier proudest of songs.
One of the fiest tunes to hint of the psychedelic revolution that would follow.
The Beatles you say? never heard of them, they seem very clean though.
🤣
Living under a rock?
