Only is about the “only” thing you can say accurately about The Beatles, the most musically diverse, influential and greatest band in popular music history.
The same singer sang Sgt. Pepper and Helter Skelter. Sgt. Pepper was a concept album. To really understand it, you need to listen to it all the way through. Helter Skelter was on the White Album.
"Completely different" (from song to song) is the key word for the Beatles, who have around 15 different genres in their discography. From children's songs to experimental stuff. If one only like danceable music, one only come to the right place in part. Of course, there's that too, especially the early rock'n'roll tracks. In general, the Beatles offer exceptional songwriting. Almost every track is characterized by interesting ideas, often setting trends. A particular strength are the highly attractive melodic ideas, that gave the Beatles number one hits all over the world in record numbers. The group created an unprecedented fan hysteria known as "Beatlemania". A sociological phenomenon with far-reaching consequences beyond music. John Lennon was murdered by a madman in New York in 1980, to the shock of the world - even China was reporting something about a rock musician from the West for the first time. The murderer is still in prison today, where he hopes to be released every two years, although John Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, is doing her best to prevent this. Paul McCartney, at 82, is still touring the world and last and this year he filled stadiums with more than 100,000 fans with his "Got Back" tour in Latin and South America. He is probably the most successful musician of all time. Ringo Starr is still going on tour in his mid-80s and George Harrison, who was also the victim of a horrifying assassination attempt in 1999, died of cancer in 2001. The serious injuries certainly accelerated his demise.
Most of the the Beatles earlier output was danceable - so long as you don't mind dancing 60s style! That's what they were, at first, and house band in local clubs and ballrooms, paid to give people a good time, to dance or stomp their feet or stand and stare. Five years of intensive training in how to play, sing and entertain before they got a record deal and were almost instantly catapulted into nationwide fame; a year or so later they hit the US and thereby conquered the world. They were churning out hit after hit record, topping the pop charts all over the world. They were adored everywhere. But success and fame came at a cost. 'Beatlemania' made a lot of people act strangely around them, shouting and screaming so loudly at concerts they couldn't hear themselves play, while religion and politics came into it as everyone demanded access to them and ridiculous expectations were placed on them that they had no interest in fulfilling. After a few years they decided to pack it all in, forget touring and live performances and become a serious studio band. Their creativity suddenly unleashed, they were like scientists in the recording studio, inventing new genres almost by accident as they sought new musical solutions and ways to express their ideas. The music became more complex, no longer just dance tunes and love songs but exploring inner landscapes and outer social situations, memories, strange new sounds and revived ancient sounds from music history. And somehow, these experimental musical offerings still sold, became loved as much as their old stuff, and inspired further generations of musicians to greater creative heights than popular music had ever gone before. Virtually every band or artist that came after them was influenced by the new possibilities their experimentation had opened up. As Brian May (lead guitar, Queen) put it, "The Beatles were our Bible. They opened the doors, and we all just walked through." Initially formed in 1957 when the nucleus of the band, the 2 main songwriters met, with the lead guitarist following soon after, their entire recording career as the Beatles only lasted from late 1962 to late 1969. They epitomised the 60s, both leading the massive cultural changes of that decade, while also reflecting them artistically, socially, and spiritually. It may be around 55 years ago that they broke up, but their legacy will be felt for centuries to come. To better understand their musical significance check out the Howard Goodall documentary on them, plus he does another brilliant one focusing on the Sergeant Pepper album, including Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane which were from the same sessions. Both documentaries available on YT.
When one listens to The Beatles one should not come away away with 1960s fashion as the primary comment. Maybe skip the videos for your fist time listeninng to them. Additionally you may want to skim the songs Wikipedia page for basic info before you listen. The 1960s was a lomg time ago for 21st Century digital people.
My two favourite Beatles songs for young people's reactions are Helter Skelter and Strawberry fields forever, if it doesn't blow their minds they should get their ears checked out.
💜these aren’t all necessarily to my taste but if anything the Beatles’ were prolific songwriters-there’s definitely others to enjoy. Cool of you to give them a listen!
Thank you so much! Love you, Victor! The term helter skelter refers to chaos or out of control. In the U.S., it is sometimes associated with the Charles Manson murders. I think Manson’s gang wrote “Helter Skelter” on the walls of the house where the murders took place. They wrote it using the blood of the victims. You’d have to google it. Creepy, I know, but not the fault of the Beatles.
Manson said he got his messages from that song. To quote Sam Kinison "You were on ACID, Manson ! You would have got the same message from 'Hey-hey, we're the Monkees !' "

A helter skelter, is an amusement ride resembling a lighthouse with a spiral shaped slide built around the tower.
THANKS

That was the drummer Ringo Starr at the end with blisters on his fingers. Helter Skelter was an early precursor to heavy metal music.

A 'helter skelter' is an old amusement park ride. A large cone-shaped structure with a slide coiling around the outside.

a Helter Skelter is a spiral slide found at fairgrounds back in the day

In the Strawberry Fields video (and in Sergeant Pepper photos/video), they were dressed oddly even for their time.
... helter skelter ... scattered around randomly and chaotically

:D
We can tell you never listened to them before because of the three songs you chose for the first reaction.
Victor, The Beatles is one of my top bands, with BTS and Led Zeppelin 😁💜 Can't wait to see what you think.
Jimin actually uses this concept of like Sgt Peppers for his album Muse. Semreldo Garden Marching Band.
I think a Led Zeppelin reaction is due ! 😁
Heck yes!!! LZ is just amazing @@VictorNightroad

John Lennon was assasinated (don't know what kind of language i can use) in 1980 in New York City outside his apt building.
Ahh ! Damn ! I thought he died early of natural causes ! Bummer
If you are going to react to the music then you should not watch a video, especially with the Beatles, it will distract from the music.
do Abbey Road, the album, the whole thing, start with cut one.
He wants songs he can dance to. Abbey Road might be a bit too creatively rich for him!
Mine and Charles Manson's favorite song...disturbing.
Manson said he got his messages from that song.
To quote Sam Kinison "You were on ACID, Manson !

Is nobody going to mention Charles Manson?
He shouldn’t be, a warped, conspiratorial twisted view on the white album
