I think Are You My Neighbor? should've been released on DVD in May 2004, alongside the DVD releases of God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?!, Larry-Boy! & the Fib from Outer Space!, and Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed.
There's something special about hearing backings for some of the other VeggieTales songs in a completely different context (like Stand Up! Stand Up at 2:03, and the Hairbrush song at 4:13).
Another thing they've gotten rid of in Are You My Neighbor is that there was originally a lighting mistake when they're all singing together--Larry starts to faint, and the room spontaneously gets brighter. Also, when they sing I Can Be Your Friend, and they say "If your hair is red or yellow, we can have lunch; I'll share my jello", it was originally only Junior who sang "I'll share my jello," which is why the camera zooms in on him, but now they've changed it so that all the veggies' voices sing it together.
One thing though, they recently parodied Star Trek again in the Fennel Frontier movie they did. To me they actually took a step back, sure it was a good plot and that, but they should have used the one here UVP-1701 U.S.S Applepies
These documentaries are sometimes a little confusing because they leave one detail out in one documentary, and then point it out in another. In this one they imply that only Phil Vischer was the one to disagree with having The Hairbrush Song be The Razor Song, but in another documentary they tell us that his wife was the one who disagreed with it and said they shouldn't.
8:57 I also don't think A Snoodle's Tale was five or six years apart from Are You My Neighbor. Are You My Neighbor came out in 1995, and A Snoodle's Tale in 2004. That's more like nine years apart.
You gotta remember that these documentaries and interviews were made around the mid 2000’s a little more than 10 years after the episodes were made. So obviously their memories might be fuzzy to remember what actually happened
That whole thing about how they almost always do Old Testament stuff made me realize that VeggieTales could easily appeal to Jewish viewers as much as Christians. Or maybe not, I'm not entirely familiar with Judaism.
