- Phil Vischer is a sarcastic comedy genius!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own VeggieTales, it is owned by Big Idea and Classic Media. This is a non-profit video used for entertainment purposes only. - Розваги
I can't tell you how many times I watched this as a kid. I wanted to work here so badly.
Phil Vischer had all the right ethics to run a business he just wasn’t a businessman
'We're sure hoping'
That hits different now
Well hello👀
The studio had so much character! I had no idea they worked out of a mall!
Too bad they had a movie production paradise right before bankruptcy
Super cool tour! I'd honestly would have loved to see "The Bob and Larry Movie" become a reality. But, sadly it is what it is, especially with "VeggieTales in the House" and "in the City" around. I wished that Big Idea Productions was still like this today. Don't you?
The company is now in California
You know pixarfan 8695 turning red only took place in 2002 the year where Jonah a veggietales movie was released
The humor is amazing
Yes indeed
"Johnny's coming home!"
Huge fan of Phil and Mike. They are such amazing cool guys. And I am a huge die hard veggie tales fan. You can't get enough of them.
"Are we bouncing higher or lower than Shrek?"
"I haven't graphed Shrek"
Considering this was just before they went bankrupt, and considering Jonah's box office results, I'm willing to bet it was lower.
6:07 Dude that's one of my animation professors! I'm not joking!
Can he remember anything about working on Jonah?
That is so cool man, I hope you can see him again :)
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
When I was little, I always wanted to be a animator for Big Idea, they always looked like they had fun making VeggieTales and 321 Penguins!
Big Idea Imformation: Founded: 1989 (as grafx studios) 1993 (as big idea) 2017 (as in only name unit)
if only big idea was today what it was then
Funny enough, a major animation studio having their HQ inside of a shopping mall was (unintentionally) ahead of its time; given that many malls are now replacing empty department stores with apartments and offices.
Me and my older sister have quoted "You never really finish... you just run out of time" (0:24) an extraordinary amount of times
When Phil was in control of BigIdea, it looked like they they had so much fun back in the day! I always wanted to work for them. The new company is nothing like this.
Yeah, it looked fun, but sadly, this was all just sunshine and rainbows cleverly disguising a struggling company and a struggling team.
Phil himself admits that the production of Jonah was an utter nightmare & abounded in a crisis of faith for him.
It’s a shame we never got to see The Bob and Larry Movie
Cosmo Kramer maybe they’ll use that concept again for the third Veggietales movie
@@kayleerinehart3904 That's kind of Good News for me
This video was just amazing.
Thank you soooooo much!
At least that location beats the front offices of a screw manufacturing plant
This is Yorktown mall. The old Big Idea location is now a Funflatables play place
A small price to pay for something fun
I’m glad Veggietales is still going on today but I feel terrible for Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki! They’re brain child had gone into bankruptcy and I’m not gonna blame them!
Same
Lets hope that one day they'll be Back in Action again.......I hope
And if that wasn't enough they and the original crew were all kicked out for the recent podcast. Although aside from social media it seems like the series has been dormant lately, so hopefully they'll let the series rest instead of letting it continue and potentially derail itself even further from the original vision. Either that or get a new passionate team for a new take with new characters (sorta like what Muppets Tonight tried) although as this point it would be better to simply let it be (after all 3-2-1 Penguins knew when to end).
@@albertoandroidain what was the podcast?
@@phylecia Very Veggie Silly Stories, to my knowledge it's on the website and spotify
I haven't graphed Shrek
Lol 😂😂
I love this studios. Too bad it was all taken away due to the bankruptcy.
Me 2
Knowing what was _really_ going on behind-the-scenes during the production of this movie makes this prettt sad to watch.
Still nostalgic, but sad knowing the truth.
Me watching this at age 10: "Dude, they got to work out of a MALL?!!? That's so cool!"
Me now, realizing the financial troubles they were actually in at this time: "...Oof."
4:50 Is that early animation of Hope from An Easter Carol? Nice!
Makes sense, since according to the wiki that episode was the last one before they started outsourcing the animation to other studios
The Jonah DVD was released March 4, 2003, but Easter Carol was developed during production of both Jonah and The Star of Christmas.
I actually liked where they had a shopping mall behind one of those doors. that was enjoyable.
Id do anything to bring Big Idea back to the spotlight and be what it was again.
Well VeggieTales is back with their original designs!
@@abrahamsvlogs4040 very happy about, but I also hope they make more theatrical movies like other big studios, something Phil couldn't do.
@@matthewballon9948 Yeah
I never knew if the company was actually shut down permanently, does anyone have an answer
@@russelthebastard It Never Will Be Shut Down
Ah, this video brings back memories, it technically was the one that got me interested in wanting to animate in general...I used to live only ten minutes away from that mall that the studio was in. XD
Did you ever visit the studio or not?
@@stereomonovici5796 Sadly, no. I only learned it was there right when Jonah had came out, so it was starting to near the time when they were doing the other projects before the big move.
Well Big Idea went to Nashville after they filed for bankruptcy and got bought out by Dreamworks
@@stereomonovici5796
The last production they worked on at Yorktown was Sumo of the Opera.
7:14
"WE PAY CANADA??"
"We pay Canada."
And after Easter Carol the animation of VT moved to Jam Filled Toronto, so they continued paying Canada for a loooooooong time
They did for the final 3 episodes of 321P! in 2002
That's when before Big Idea filed for bankruptcy and then moved to south of Nashville.
Where is Nashville?
@@johncsernica2175 It's in Tennessee.
Legends say that Brian still keeps his collection of regrettable food items to this day…
Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie by Tom Bancroft (2002) and Star Quest: Rob the Rescuers The Movie by Eric Goldberg (2016).
Big Idea was headquarted in Tustin, CA.
Was or still is.
@@Jonathanest90s still is
2018 anyone?
ah...memories
I had no idea that the studio was inside a shopping mall!
Mario: Big? Big Idea? *(laughs)*
Big Idea is now in Franklin, TN.
I wish I went to their new headquarters owned by Comcast!
I live 45 minutes away from their new headquarters in Southern California.
I Saw A VeggieTales Silly Sing Along 2 Poster Behind Him.
Does Anyone Else Saw That Or Was It Just Me?
Bob & Larry Movie is Cancelled & Lost Contant of Veggietales Movie 3:55
How many people did Phil Vischer interview aside from Tim Hodge, Mike Nawrocki, Marc Vulcano, Ameake Owens, and Brian K. Roberts, who were the other guys?
John Wahba, Dan Philips, Kurt Heinecke, Chris Olsen, Ron Smith, Thomas Danen, Chuck Vollmer. David Pitts, Adam Frick, Tom Bancroft, Robert Ellis, Joseph Sapulich and Michael Spooner.
I wonder if the concept art between 4:00 - 4:30 was concept art for episodes they were planning, ones that were already made, or just random pieces they did.
PercyandDuckfan94 That was all concept art for the unmade Bob and Larry movie. Some of the art on the walls were most likely a mix of personal works and veggie stuff.
The movie turns 20 in 2 days
So this place was in Lombard, Illinois? That’s only about 40 minutes away from where I live. It’s also- oddly enough- the home base of The Nostalgia Critic.
1:09 I saw a poster for The End of Silliness
Barbara Manatee Wood Statue Story Is On King George DVD As An Easter Egg!
So was that Brian K. Roberts Phil was talking to about for the Jonah DVD menus?
I think so.
"What is that, is that a Spongebob episode?"
"Ahh a lot better than that!"
umm...no.
I wish they could make a LarryBoy movie
I've seen this before on my Jonah DVD
The banner appearing notably at 1:46 - 2:00, 2:07 - 2:15 and 8:27 - 8:28
Jonah the VeggieTales movie is 18 years old today in 2020

8:29 2ere those stuffed duckies used for the King George and the Ducky Giveaway?
We had one when I was a kid. It way on a "shelf" in the bathroom.
We treated it as a decoration rather than a toy.
I can see SpongeBob 6:47
3:03 lol
0:50 Spongebob reference
Jonah is doing great? I thought you did a whole episode about how lying is bad? :(
Do you plan to re upload the classics
7:18 Blue!
Where Did You See Blue?
6:25 I、for one、can say that crocodile jerky is not a regretable edible。
4:43 an Easter Carol coming 2003
It actually came out in 2004
Production on An Easter Carol was finished in 2003
4:32-4:41
Oof, that one in particular stung knowing the context
