It was the Queen’s horse that won the race. Also, the one you couldn’t understand: she was asking someone’s opinion on something she was wearing and whether it looked alright. They said “Yes, it does” and she said “I’m jolly glad you said yes because it would’ve been awful if you’d said no”.

    Her Majesty is well known to have had an absolutely incredible sense of humour. She was extremely quick witted. The reason a lot of her "funny" clips are from the last 10-15 years is because;
    a) There are simply more records from this era in general of everything
    b) Because it hasn't always been the accepted norm for a monarch to be "funny". In her younger days she was expected to remain serious to a point however in recent years, that kind of thing has been relaxed and I think The Palace/Crown are starting to realise that showcasing Her Majesty's sense of humour and fun isn't actually a bad thing. That James Bond skit would NEVER have happened 30 years ago and would have probably been sacrilege to even suggest it. There's a long standing rumour that she wanted to voice herself in the animated version of The BFG (because she used to read it to her grandchildren) but they "strongly advised" against the idea.

The movie wasn’t a movie. It was a sketch for the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony where the Queen jumped out of a helicopter into the arena with a parachute featuring the British flag. Well, not really but some foreign heads of state - and others - thought she did!

You can see for yourself now just how loved & admired she was with her great sense of humour & her love of animals. She had a beautiful soul & was different to any Queen we had ever known. We had her for SO long it's hard to come to terms with the reality that she has gone now. Heaven has gained a special spirit this time & her funeral will be remembered for a long time to come. The Queen was with her protection officer, the couple asked her if she lived there, she said yes she had a home there and one in London.
They then said oh so you must have met the Queen, The Queen said no but ,and pointing to her Guard, said he has.
The man then thrust a camera into the Queens hands, and asked her to take a photo of him and the Guard, when they'd gone ,she said to the Guard , love to be a fly on the wall when they show those to people and hopefully recognise me.

The Queen would have been a very enjoyable common person. Even as a queen she seemed so approachable with her sense of humour. She was born very rich with excellent education, and even being imposed to play her role, the duties of a monarch, she made the most of each moment, never showing something bothered her.

The subtitles are not very good. In the race clip, the commentator said the Queen’s filly, ‘Estimate’ (ie that was her horse’s name) had won the race and that the Queen usually presents the trophy at Royal Ascot (which is the name of the famous race track - not ‘Alaska’ 😂). In other words, how is she going to present the trophy to herself?

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd had the ability to quickly sum up a situation & put people at ease in her company. Always dignified but with that common touch, she really was "one of a kind".
Once, a war veteran was having lunch with her & was feeling stressed due to ongoing PTSD issues. HM sensed this & asked for a couple of corgis to be let into the room. This defused the veteran's situation & he was able to relax. Just one example in a myriad of occasions. She was a truly great Monarch and an impossible act to follow. HM King Charles 3rd has had a long apprenticeship with an incomparable tutor.

    On the Guiness ad...
Everyone knows you don't touch a pint until it has settled and stopped bubbling. For Guiness, this takes a few minutes until it goes completely black (apart from the white 'head') and it was still a bubbling brown. She won't take a sip for a few minutes more.

I just found you here and there was no happy arvo. You do know she was our Queen in Australia too? There are lots of video’s of her when she was young. The first time I saw the Queen I was 18 months old and I remember every detail, she was beautiful. She was sitting on the back balcony of our Royal train and when she saw us she slowed the train to almost a stop. I never thought about how my Mother and I had the Queen to ourselves or how unusual that was. She looked into my eyes, smiled and waved. Then she spoke to my Mother. Some years later my daughter asked me to come to the park on the water and watch her dance with her class. The roads were all barricaded, we got stuck in the middle of the road trying to cross it and a car stopped. Twelve inches away from me was Princess Diana, she looked into my eyes. Hers were full of pain and William was 5 months old. Prince Charles was looking grumpy on the other side of the car. Princess Diana was stunning up close, just not sure why I was meant to look into both of their eyes.
The Queen was happy at Ascot because her horse won the race. She was presenting the cup to the winner of that race. So I guess she gave it to herself? Thank you.

the later Queen loved to learn new things. she was as bright as a button. I heard, I think it was Blair at the time, saying he went for his weekly briefing & was constantly asked about the events of the war on terror in the middle East. that's just one example. she was always abreast of world events and certainly events involving her realms.

Obvs the late Queen was our Queen here in Australia too being a Commonwealth nation & we did see her as our grandmother & we loved her but i remember Prezzo Macron of France said in a speech after the Queen's passing that she just wasn't the UK & Commonwealth's grandmother, she was the world's grandmother & France looked upon her that way. She's hadda brilliant & naughty sense of humour, just like her mother, Elizabeth. U can tell this by the telly shows & movies they both loved....they loved the Carry On movies & unless you've seen them u won't understand but in each movie the sexual puns thru out all the movies were hilarious & a bit cheeky for it's time, it would be looked at as really corny these days so if you've seen all those movies & get the crude undertones then you'll see the type of sense of humour she has......marrying Prince Philip was a match made in heaven coz of his personality & sense of humour too, as well as him using the eff word non stop, even while on camera

Quen Elizabeth had a wonderful sense of humour. As girlsl she and her sister used to put on plays and entertainments for the family, and we're told she was a wonderful mimic, imitating the voices of the many people she had met. But only in private. King Charles shares this talent. The inherited a stables from her father and bred and raced many horses, delighting when one of her horses won. You need to find her appearance with James Bond at the 2012 Olympics in London. She played her part to a lot of peoples;surprise. And at this years's Jubilee, her little skit with Paddington Bear. The queen is to remain neutral in most situations, especially political. No-one is to touch the queen, she must walk 1st( Trump didn't do that, he walked 1st and let her trail behind looking at his back, very rude). If you 2ished to talk you spoke to an advisor nearby and discuss the conversation 1st before talking to her and putting her into a situation she may be uncomfortable with. Don't forget she did like 400 occasions/ events/ meetings a year. She is supposed to be there for specific reasons, only talk about the company/ reason for being there, keep it short to most important things as such short of time. She was absolute horse and dog crazy. She will not eat or drink in front of others. If shes hungry, which she actually brings a sandwich in her bag with her, she'll go into a room for 5mins in private and eat. She has a very bland diet and has also stopped all from eating certain foods at her residence, e.g., Mcdonalds.

The bit with the Queen and Daniel Craig as "James Bond" was from the London Olympics. I remember it, it was a funny set up. ua-cam.com/video/1AS-dCdYZbo/v-deo.html

@@wills2408 Yes I believe the day before the lectern was too high and all people could see was the top of her hat. This was 1991/2 just after Desert Storm.

Well, we try, but don't always succeed. Living away from the Motherland, we seem to have lost ground.

Some people love being lownesses and are happy to pay to be lownesses to a family at vast expense that is hidden from us,. I prefer the Brit who slogs, does not have four months holiday a year, own a large number of race horses, properties, has every whim catered for. Always remember the RF is a vast successful PR Machine useful to the government. The monarchy is a different thing and works.
