Here's a challenge I've been labbing in my spare time: Can you beat (Bethesda game) without lifting a finger? Gives you a catchy title for a pacifist run, really; rules are you can never raise your hands for any reason (so no attacking, no magic in Morrowind or Oblivion), but everything else is on the table. With FO4 specifically, you could even extend this to not being able to hack terminals or pick locks since some companions can do those for you, making you truly the laziest man in the wasteland. Thanks for the content, hope you had fun making it!
Thought of an interesting challenger. Beating fallout 4 with the intimidation and animal controlling perks (I forget the names but the 2 perks where you can pacify enemies and make them do things) not sure if it would work out but I never see people use those perks lol
So rare that it's possible to forget that it's actually 3 perks. Animal Friend lets you control mammals, and Mutant Hounds. Wasteland Whisperer is the main value, letting you control everything else aside from people and robots. Intimidation is the last and limited to people. There's a similar perk Robotics Expert, but rank 1 is a shut down command and rank 3 doesn't require you to keep a weapon drawn to control the robot. Rank 2 of these perks, allowing you to Incite a target to attack everything but the player(still draws aggro to your companion) grants access to some very rare lines of dialog. Try it on a few Mirelurks for a laugh.
I've actually done a playthrough like this, early game kinda sucks. But once you get it going it's actually pretty strong, in combination you can do stealth so you don't have to enter combat and get a bunch of enemies to fight for you. It's very illusion stealth build vibe from Skyrim
I've mained a .44 magnum before on a Gunslinger build. It helps to know where Eleanor is on the map, since unlisted vendors like her carry an unusually high amount of .44 rounds. If you have Contraptions then rank 3 of Gun Nut lets you manufacture the rounds yourself.
@@owascoshaw She's a bit south of Boston, behind a boarded up colonial home that stands alone near a road. You can also stumble upon her dog, Teddy, and freeing him from his cage will have him leading you back to Eleanor. IIRC she'll offer a slight discount for bringing her dog back, though there isn't any special dialog to note that.
The great thing about Fallout 4 is due to the mod and perk system you can essentially win it with any weapon by putting points into the right perks. I did a switchblade only run once, it was challenging at times, but completely doable with blitz and the other critical hit buffs.
Yes, I have. Ammo is the only one problem, you can only start using it when you get to the vendor that sells a lot of .44 ammo, spend a lot of caps with her and everyone else and invest in scrounger. Until you can start accumulating enough ammo though, it is a real challenge.
I love the .44 in this game. Beat the game with it on survival. First the one outside of Sanctuary, then Kellogg's. I actually found it easy once you plan for the crazy slow fire rate. Of course, buying ammo from Eleanor is a must even with scrounger.

So you might know these but here's a few fun facts: firstly nick (according to the wiki) reacts to the player killing super mutants on the road to diamond city but as he's not available as a companion until after you reach diamond city that reaction never triggers (or at least it doesn't at first you can probably get it to trigger if you leave them alone and come back to the area after gaining him as a companion which will trigger a "loved" reaction from nick) secondly ALL companions react to healing dog meat from his bleedout state with a stimpack (as a hold over from when you were supposed to be able to have him and a humanoid companion) you can still trigger this reaction by healing dogmeat near dismissed companions the only companion who doesn't like that (if I remember correctly) is strong
