    As someone who only knows at most surface level MCU lore and is watching this on a random Sunday Morning, the phrase "But then Hercules showed up" really does have a comedic ring to it.

      Not when you take into account the helicopters hovering overhead.
      It was a trap to slow Cap down so he could be taken in.
      The debate in Civil War was perfect and boiled down multiple comic book's worth of dialog. They would be signing themselves over to a world government and become state property. Freedoms gone, the ability to make a choice gone, and all because a bunch of people made a law in extreme anger and fear. Cap's argument is pretty online with Magneto's, just nowhere near as violent.
      Sacrificing freedom for the sake of security grants you neither.

    • @Nobody-es6td
      @Nobody-es6td Рік тому +130

      @@Soldier4USA2005 Tho sacrificing freedom for the sake of security is one of the main pillars of society. We all have to play by the rules and obey our respective governments or face the consequences. And yes, there will be limitations, we will be forbidden from some choices. And yes, there will be flaws in the system and people wronged by it. But the sad truth is, you are sacrificing part of your freedom the moment you interact with other human being. And the idea that people who were borned with favorable genetic mutations, were enhanced by serum or just borned geniuses should be above the rules everyone else has to follow is just absurd.
      Freedom is quite troubling word, as it can mean different things for different peoples and we are still arguing about it. If sacrificing some freedoms for the sake of security would truly grant you neither, the very idea of a city, of a country, of a society, would fall apart long ago.

    Civil war is a great film, one of the best in the MCU easily, but it completely nerfs Iron Man, he would have killed Cap if he fought him for real. Cap is still human, he can be killed by a BULLET, what do you think happens to a body that can be pierced by bullets when it gets punched by a mechanical suit that can punch through concrete walls? It gets punched through as well.
    Realistically Cap could have blocked Iron Man's strikes with his shield (because the shield is vibranium and vibranium is basically magic) but the first strike he couldn't block would kill him. Not to mention Iron Man's suit can literally tank artillery shells, Cap's punches wouldn't even register, Cap would break his fists before even putting a dent on the suit.
    The only way to make sense of Civil War keeping up with Marvel continuity and established power levels of the characters is to assume that Tony never actually hit Cap at anywhere near full force because he didn't actually want to hurt him.

Hera took her anger out on the wrong people because she was mad at Zeus. Don't even get me started with Zeus. Just because gods follow you, doesn't make you right.
