I've had the pleasure to surf there several times. The waves are overrated most of the time. The real beauty is the unspoiled coast. Look at what Trestles has turned into. Look what the North Shore has become, Bali, Indo, Nica. Surfers are always the first to ruin a good thing.
I'm all for public access, but this pristine coastline will become trashed by the public. Keep this enclave as pristine and untouched as we can. There are plenty of better, sandier, bigger, more private, you name it, beaches out there. Parking lots, bathrooms, people, trash, and pet waste will ruin this beach, which by the way isn't totally off limits, boat permitting.
You should take up your concerns with the California Coastal Commission. For 2 years, they have been accepting commentary on the details of the public access plan. How about a $1000 fine, and permanent ban for littering? A No Pets policy? Trash cans emptied daily? A shuttle system from Gaviota will eliminate the need for parking. Your only concern left is "people", however, the California State Constitution (Article X, Section 4) and the Coastal Act of 1972 permit public beach access.
Complicated issue; the beaches are public, the access to the beach is over private property...no easy answers here. I'm for public access with payment made to the landowners for access and a daily limit to amount of people with access, plus services will need to be built and maintained to accommodate the public; parking, bathrooms and enforcement of laws. Vanderbilt air force base should absolutely do the same!
These rich billionaires with their 100 acre properties are so greedy, they'd rather spend millions on lawyers than give up their illegal right to those beaches.
My names Goober McClusky. We're coming to Cali to check out the ranch We're all from Texas and we're the best of the best. I was riding curlers from oil tankers that We're legit knee slapper We're bringg the whole crew and cameramen. See ya soon. Shakur brodah
They need to take all the money being spent on lawyers and fix the pier and hoist
100% thats all the access I want or need.
Disaster for pristine coastline. Here comes the crowd with all their trash😢😢😢
Sad news , the public will ruin it
Can't wait..Thousands of surfers on Fast EBikes Invade..What could go wrong?
Nothing honestly, someone will get hurt but it won’t affect the beach. Surfers don’t leave trash, e-bikes don’t leave pollution.

Good points. It's all about balance.

You nailed it. I’ve never had access, but I’ve boated in and been invited in. I’ve always felt that the public will destroy this place.
Will it? Plenty of place up and down OB to Santa Cruz that aren’t trashed. The most trashed beach in NorCal is probably Linda mar.
