- Disney Channel, ESPN, ABC, and other TV channels owned by The Walt Disney Company, are no longer available on Dish and Sling TV. Dish and Disney couldn't reach an agreement in the contract to air these channels, meaning you pay the price. It's a mess.

The second of two TV shows however did not make a single bit of sense as to why a Boat, even the reason used did not make sense as to why the Tipton's father and mother had bought a cruise ship and were now owning a single cruise ship running trips in the Atlantic Gulf Coast to the smaller less visited islands.
If companies weren't so greedy they would have much better resolves!

We are in a modern times. Companies need more money to survive.

Yea they are pretty greedy, hate the game and the players. The shareholders want big return on their investments, puffing up the company until they are ready to sell. They have no reason to stick around, just like Discover and Warren bros.
I live in a non-US country with non American cable networks, so while I'm safe, I hope the American Disney TVA fans make it through
Actually no ur not, recently Disney shut down a lot of Disney non-US channels so no one is safe from this never ending nightmare

Switching to another cable provider doesn’t always work out. If Disney and Dish were unable to reach an agreement because they both want money (which is kinda fair, they’re both companies), then chances are the same thing will happen with whatever cable provider you switch over to. At least Disney hasn’t gotten to the point of making ads to put you against Dish (looking at you, Paramount).
Edit: It turns out neither company was transparent about what was happening until the channels were removed. In which case you should try to switch providers (unless you have no choice other than Dish). But do still be wary about potential carriage disputes.
Can you explain what paramount ads these were? I wanna see em.
Luckily, my cable provider (Suddenlink) has never had this issue with Disney. Did lose Nick between 2014 and 2018, now the Nick channels are back in the 90s area, while Disney/Universal Kids (was called Sprout back when we lost Nick)/Cartoon Network are in the 60s.
This is greed and corruption not just a mere need for money. They're both greedy companies
@@itsyellow Paramount (back when they were still known as VIACOM) had a lot of campaigns against providers during carriage disputes. One of the most well known is their campaign against DIRECTV back in 2012, which resulted in a blackout. Basically what the ads said was that DIRECTV was willingly removing the channels and that VIACOM was looking for a fair increase in price, but DIRECTV said that VIACOM was asking for 1 billion more dollars that would eventually affect people’s bills. Just by looking up “carriage dispute” you will probably get results related to this.

This sort of thing always happens every few years with a multimedia company pulling their channels due to a contract dispute, but after a few days a new deal is reached and everything goes back to normal. I'm not too worried.

No internet and you're down, and it's so expensive compared to cable (at least here)
Plus the selection is too large and it makes me not wanna watch anything because I can't decide

Please don’t remind me of the pain, I just wanted to watch Disney Halloween movies and Disney took it away. I hope Disney gets their heads outta their butts and comes up for a proposition that works our for both Dish and themselves. Also new season of Miraculous is coming and I don’t wanna miss that either 😢

Miraculous Ladybug is a very ridiculous show... idk how my slightly younger sister that's in her early 20s "watches" it (the quotes are because she still looks at her phone while "watching")
This used to happen a lot when I was a kid. I can remember visiting my dad and stepmom and we wouldn't have Nick and other affiliated channels, and same with CN and it's affiliated channels.
I remember when Dish and Nick couldn't reach a carriage agreement and Dish actually ran a continuous feed on one of their channels with a dude just... describing why it was like that.
This issue could be prevented if all classic shorts are in Disney plus right now
Both that and Warner Bros Discovery are just more reasons why people are pirating episodes of their favorite shows whether be anime, cartoons, etc. I don't blame them. Perhaps a Pirate's life isn't so bad after all.

In the UK we lost Disney channel just over 2 years ago now
This happened with DirecTV with Paramount channels back in 2012. They removed Paramount channels from the provider for quite a while, until they brought them back.

I lost Disney XD in my area about a day ago. And it feels unnatural. It's like if a section of my childhood was completely removed. At least I have two Boomerangs now.
yeah same here I got boomering on 2 channles I was really looking forward to see the Owl House S3 I was excited to but now I don't know what to do anymore maybe Stream Disney. Its sad to see that things get complicated man, Wish things were easier and simplier.
I feel Disney XD, Boomerang, and Nicktoons are on borrowed time.

The same thing happened to me, all the channels that Disney owned are now replaced by channels called boomerang, discovery family, etc. The time has come when Disney (might) shutdown its own US channel. Man, they really want us to buy and keep using their boring Disney+ subscription so badly all because of money. (R. I. P. Dish’s US Disney Channel)

It's now Spectrum's turn to deal with this mess from Disney.
However in Europe Disney Channel got a new logo in the countries where Disney Channel survived, for example, Poland, France and Sweden.
In the UK we completely lost Disney channels around the entirety of the area. That was a year ago

I grew up watching Disney XD, until I realized that Disney XD got removed from Dish and I didn't expect it to happen. Now, my neither my siblings would enjoy watching my Childhood Channel.😕
Funny. Recently my parents switched from Frontier to Spectrum after the former got rid of a bunch of sports channels. Also I remember when Directv got rid of Nickelodeon. Finally. Remember when Dish Network bought Blockbuster? Yeah. That was a thing.
I myself have Dish and I remember. It was a last ditch effort to save Blockbuster.
Though can you believe Blockbuster passed on an opportunity to buy Netflix in 2000?
Yeah, the Internet was still in its infancy as not everyone had it, and no one was really watching videos online yet but still.

I myself have Dish, and was genuinely surprised at how brief the dispute lasted.
Compare a couple days to a similar dispute they had in late 2010, in which the channels were blacked out for a few weeks.
The future for the years straight ahead is mostly going to be streaming. Sooner or later, cable will die out and we'll eventually have to pay to even watch a single show. Valiskibum has a point.

I guess this also applies to me. I have Suddenlink, now known as Optimum.
I will never forget when my cable provider, Suddenlink, dropped Viacom networks in late 2014 and replaced them with other networks like Sprout, FXX, and others. Viacom ran ads all over the place for awhile and even blocked Suddenlink customers from watching their content online (which I think was kinda a dirty move). It took nearly 3 years for the channels to return to Suddenlink cable systems, which didn't happen until Suddenlink was bought out by Altice, it's current owner who has since been rebranding it to Optimum. I also remember the dispute with Viacom and DirecTV back in 2012, but that one was thankfully much shorter.
This happened to me years ago with Nickelodeon and all Viacom channels in Liberty Puerto Rico. The worst part is to this day we don't have access to Paramount+, so we're seriously missing out.
But another service licences it? I got Paramount.
This also happened with Dish and Viacom (Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, etc.), as well as Turner (Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, TNT, etc.). Honestly just let the companies duke it out. I ditched cable years ago, but to those who have dish, I'd recommend trying to look for other providers if you still want cable (if affordable). I never had Dish, but I heard they're notorious for this kind of stuff. Disney is also in the wrong as well.
Also, not everyone is down for streaming, and it doesn't help that they don't really care for their customers (looking at you, Warner Bros. Discovery). And yet companies still wonder why piracy has increased. Physical media is a great alternative as well. I love Blu-ray and DVD.

My family uses a Dish Hopper DVR, and all of the Disney Channels are removed from the channel guide. My family loves the cool FreeForm Channel, and it’s very sad that FreeForm is going to go, I’m disappointed now, and I loved these channels. :(

Well.... the last time this happened was what happened with AMC and Direct TV years ago when DTV was the one doing this very same song and dance and they resolved everything after the news broke a few days later I think.
I remember five years ago when spectrum almost got rid of all Viacom channels including Nickelodeon
UPDATE: Disney and Dish are finalizing the deal as we speak. Both parties have a temperary handshake agreement which is enough currently to restore service until the deal is finalize, which should be by the end of the week. As I say in a previous comment, this happens from time to time between corporations like Disney, Turner, WB, etc. and providers (DirectTV, Dish, Comcast, etc.) and it is usually resolved in a timely manner.

@@GabyStarStudiosOfficial Rarely do channels never come back unless they fold or get absorbed by other channels. I remember back in October 2014 when Dish and Turner were in the same situation. For a period of a month, Dish customers couldn't watch AMC, Cartoon Network, TBS, Weather Channel, and CNN among others until the deal was struck a month later. I'm actually surprised that this was only a 2 day blackout so they were probably close on terms, but couldn't get at least a handshake agreement by the deadline.
Another reason why I’m only on UA-cam all the time instead of watching TV or paying for streaming.
I remember after the fog of Courage premiered at a bunch of film festivals there were rumors online that it was going to air on Cartoon Network that october. That october Cartoon Network was removed from Dish because of a disagreement like this and I was so angry 😅

I have Dish and that happened to me. I honestly want Disney to go away and just leave the Disney owned ABC stations on Dish.
Sounds like something that happened in my country a few years ago where Discovery pulled all their channels from the cable provider YouSee, which is the largest in my country. This was also around the same time they launched D Play here which would later on become Discovery+ and they used their quit as a marketing ploy to get more people to subscribe to D play
Disney (secretly): We wanted the people to pay more so that we have more money for acquisition/merger funds to reach our goal of becoming the only media conglomerate in the world.
This is one of those moments that I’m glad I have DirecTV instead of Dish. 😁

I more on Dish side and this why. Years ago Viacom tried the same thing. They were having a disagreement. One side Viacom said that they were comitted to keep your channels . The other said they want you pay a percentage more . Viacom a course remove their chanels .After the backlash Viacom cave and return the chanels .
Even though I haven’t watched cable since childhood and watch Disney Plus now, seeing this is honestly frustrating.
To be honest I think Disney and Dish should have had a deal because I have a feeling streaming is not going to end very well

Not surprised as a person who grew up with Dish and having no Disney Channel. Before we had dish, I had Disney channel but then we had dish and no longer had it.
I know dish isn't in the right especially when they seem to be trying to get people to basically complain and shift the blame to disney which seems kinda wrong and shady but like this is all part of disney's plan they don't really care either especially since they have disney+ and if its not on tv ppl will go to their platform so they lose almost nothing if not might be even better for them, this could just be a big step for them to kill cable entirely

They're testing that. They just put Dancing With the Stars every Monday live release on Disney+. They also did a couple of livestreaming tests earlier this year.

This also effects Sling TV which is owned by Dish and is a very popular cable alternative due to its low asking price. Dish just wants to negotiate with Disney by using its customers, this is always how things play out with these disputes. Eventually, someone will cave, probably for a slightly lower asking price, otherwise Hulu TV (Disney has a high stake in the company) and Cable providers would have exclusives on Disney channels. Dish is the Satellite provider so I would imagine they’ll cave to Disney.
As a person who used sling to watch stuff I couldn't on streaming channels, or watch finales before hitting streaming, it makes me sad.

Pricing was a reason why my parents dropped cable 13 years ago. I grew up mostly on antenna tv.
My country neither has access to disney plus, neither to a lot of streaming services so the cable channel is still up and running.
Dish and AT&T are both greedy, that’s why millions of people who still have cable should get Spectrum, they’re kind, cheaper and more reliable.

As a Dish rep, it happened like yesterday. I know because I had FXX Friday for Bob’s Burgers, and yesterday had none when I checked for it.
