    Great video. I should have googled how to replace the pump first. I pulled the wires out of the connector. I would love to see the video of your vehicle running with your upgraded accessories.

    Nice. I like to test that the pump works (just for a short moment) before putting it in the fuel tank and sealing it all back up.

    It doesnt appear that this pump can come off the tank through an access in the floor. I see the lines now.. I was wondering.

    Got the same pump for my 7th injector. How does yours run with it?

      Runs great so far. Engine seems like it has what it needs. I have been experiencing some issues with rough starts when the engine is warmed up and I park for short period of time. When I go to crank it back up, it’s like the engine is starved for fuel. I need to look into it.

    Do all 96-02 4runners 3.4 have the same fuel pump and sending unit assembly?

    • @goatsinapond
      @goatsinapond  2 роки тому

      There may be minor changes, but they all use the 3.4L engine with the same size injectors so fuel pressure should remain the same throughout those years.

    Good video, very descriptive, how did you get the broke bolt out for the strap?

    • @goatsinapond

      Thanks for checking it out. I had to use a drill and tap set to get the old bolt out and re-thread for a new bolt.

    Watched this video to get a few tips on replacing the fuel pump in my 98 4runner and I heard you say that you replaced the carpet in your 4runner. I've been trying to find an aftermarket carpet kit for my truck as well but I'm having trouble finding it. Where did you get the kit you used from and what was the cost? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

      Hey Mark. Thanks for watching. I made a two videos for the new carpet. One for removing the interior and the other for the install.

    Great video! Did you have to empty the tank before dropping? my pump unfortunately died with a full tank in it

    • @goatsinapond
      @goatsinapond  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I'm sorry to hear it died on you like that. It is best to empty the tank before lowering because it's so much lighter without any gas in it. You can probably do it with a full tank but it's gonna be heavy! Good luck with your repair.

      Use a floor jack to help lower the tank if it is full

    Can I use this without a super charger?

    • @goatsinapond
      @goatsinapond  2 роки тому +1

      Yea, you can, but it's not necessary. If you don't have bigger fuel injectors to handle the higher pressure there is no need for a higher pressure fuel pump.

    Truck didn't start obviously! Another guy that didn't do prior diagnostics.

    • @goatsinapond
      @goatsinapond  2 роки тому +12

      The truck did start. If you'd watched the video you'd understand there was no diagnostics needed, because there was no issue with the truck. It needed a bigger fuel pump because I put bigger fuel injectors in to accommodate the super charger. Please do some research before spewing your negativity out into the world.

    • @myanon6671
      @myanon6671 2 роки тому

      @@goatsinapond needed a bigger fuel pump so you hack off the armature that has the pipe flare on it to ensure pressure. Good luck with that. Hack! Maybe you need to do your research and if it had started you would have shown it.
