Thanks for the review! It helped alot. I've been looking at the 2017 for months and found a leftover at a great price due to the age. I'm buying it today and will be upgrading the front brakes and shocks based on your review. Muchas Gracias! Safe riding my friend.
I'm very glad to have helped. It's why I do this after all! Apart from the fame of course... Hope it all goes well! Safe and happy riding to you too! TBH!
+cuzimaluzer777 Crikey! Praise indeed, but it does make me wonder about your mind... ;-) Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Tally Bally Ho!
+motorslyclist Thank you! These do get rather long when I'm trying to give all the info I can but it's so much fun too! Not the bike for me, but still excellent fun nonetheless... I've got my eyes set straight on the Thruxton R, but I have to wait until April to try one of those out! :-( Thanks for watching! Tally Bally Ho!
Thank you very much! I try to, but sometimes it takes a while as real life gets in the way! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Tally Bally Ho! 😉
After watching that again I have to say capt oll Mate....the overall review was bloody excellent. ..production,editing,narration and the usual high quality of personal input was impressive. .. Top notch mate!
Nice review. And o liked that it you added a lot of humour and fun to it with your reaction to the bike. It wasn't OTT as you replied to some previous comment but quite natural and made the review that much more likeable. Searching for the T120 review of yours.
+Neil Cole (Smoothound675) I am still loving my Tiger, but if the 1200s are anything to go by in comparison to the improvement on the old 865s this 900 is, then I'll be swapping my Tiger for the new Thruxton R: It has everything that I wanted on my old Thruxton but already done for me, WITH the extra performance! Not that I'm at all excited you understand! ;-) Thanks for watching and commenting! Tally Bally Ho!
To counter some of the comments from those stuck in an unhappy life, I just had to say, Well done! There are 2 reasons to watch your review videos: your thoroughness and your personality. Funny story. My wife was walking past me while I was watching this video. Upon hearing your voice and laugh, she stopped and asked, "What on earth are you watching?" I said, "A video from this guy who does lots of great Triumph reviews. He goes by the name Captain Rambunctious." To which she said, "Of course he does!"
+vitaly deuterium Thank you my good man! Thanks for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment! :-) Hope the weather is treating you fairly well down south! :-)
I saw one of these sitting beside a previous model year bonny and it's amazing how the changes make the Triumph look much more finished. The clutch is ridiculously light despite being cable operated clutch as you said.
G'day Captain , great review as usual mate , can't wait to see the Truxton when they arrive at my local dealer. I'm enjoying my new T-Bird and also own a 71 Trident for last 19 years , keep up the good work mate , always entertaining, cheers Pete
+Pete Wielsma Thank you Pete! Yes, I'm rather excited about the Thruxtons and how they'll ride... I definitely have the 'R' in my sights... :-) Thanks for watching and commented. Tally bally Ho!
Awesome, you've caught my attention, changed my mind, thrown a spanner in the works and made me want one, lol. My first bike was and is a cruiser, but now after this review I'm doubting my cruising loyalty. I don't really know why I'm currently in such a dilemma, haven't done my das yet, still riding off the cbt. I'm too busy dreaming and watching UA-cam when I should be busy booking my test. Great review fella, love it✊
Tally Ho! Can't wait for my test ride this Sunday @ Hemel Triumph. Testing two very different bikes, this one and the St Triple. Let's see. Excellent review, on my local roads that too! Thank you matey.
+Vikas D Nambiar , got mine 6 weeks ago , its having the chrome spoked wheels fitted on the 26th April , should look awesome. I love the bike, can be chucked into corners and it works really well with a pillion. Its FUN :-)
Took a test ride on the Bonny the other day and I loved it, not enough to get one in preference to the R1200RS which will be replacing my 1200R this year, but if I could warrant adding another to the shed I'd buy one.
Captain Rambunctious I've used tonybmw as my online nick for 20+ years, mostly because in the early 90's when I was MAG's regular Camp-site man at the Magna Carta and Stormin' people knew me as Tony with the BMW from Sunderland.
I think you have just sold me on the Street Twin. I really started looking at the Moto Guzzi v7 Stone iii 2017 but I think I will get myself down to Triumph this coming weekend for real good look. Thanks Captain Rambunctious. Great review. The whole package from Triumph and accessories looks a great way to start off. TBH!!!
Awesome review good Sir! I've sat on the ST, the T120 and the Thruxton R at our annual motorcycle show a few weeks ago. I know what you mean by the small feel of the ST...I'm about your build. Coming right off my 2013 T100, where my legs are normally at 100 degree bend, on the T120 they felt at about 90 degree bend...much more relaxed. The Thruxton R is getting all the excitement at the shows...can't wait for your review on that beast...not sure I'm ready for such a thing with my 1st year riding anniversary still two months away! P.S.: You must have a word with your continuity checker...when you first got on the bike & drove away, we clearly saw your Knox back protector showing through your Raven leather...but then you had your back pack on rest of the ride ;-)
+TornadoCAN99 Ah yes! Continuity! I thought I'd see if anyone would notice my nod to the American Film Industry! ;-) After all, it's coming up to awards season... Agree with you on the legroom... I really can not wait until April to try the Thruxton! I may have to break in to the Triumph factory at this rate! Thank you for you initial kind words and thank you for watching! I hope that you found this valuable... Tally Bally Ho!
+Grumpy old sod on a bike. Thank you. Yes, very nice bike. Fills me with extreme excitement for the 1200s now! :-) Next month apparently... April for the new Speed Triple...
+Grumpy old sod on a bike. Very likely U.S. or Canadian vehicle visibility requirements. If your jurisdiction doesn't require them, just take them off.
Except for my VMAX, the bikes I've had have always had twin gauges, but I do like the way that one looks as well. My 2005 t100, doesn't have any electronics like the newer bikes but I don't mind at all. It's funny how slight changes make the same bike different. Street twin, speed twin, Bonneville. Change a few little changes but all unique. But yes the 1200 is a different animal than the 900. Six speeds, 300 more CC s and about 20 more HP. And a center stand. Thanks Cap Rambunctious. Your enthusiasm is always appreciated.
Our Triumphs are very proud, I know my Daytona is in the shed with her thumb up. God bless the John Bloor era of Triumph. Oh... is it sad that I think my lovely Daytona is a human lady friend?.. Oh dear. Wonderful upload as always, reminds me of the old days of the Captain Rambunctious videos, wonderful stuff!
+Shropshire Lad Ha ha! Thank you. I rather enjoy these reviews and plenty more coming up in the next couple of months. I really need to review the Ducati Scrambler just for comparison... Thanks for watching and enjoy the good lady Daytona! :-)
+David Vickers Thank you David! :-) Wait at least until I've had my hands on a T120 or a Thruxton and reviewed that! I'm salivating at just the thought of the Thruxton. 220kgs (10 kgs lighter than the old one (the one I had for 2 years!)), 95bhp (25bhp more than the old one) and around 80 lbft torque (30 more than before?!). Tally Bally Ho indeed! :-)
so I've been debating between this, the ducati scrambler and the yahama sr400. your joy in riding this bike has definitely leaned me in the direction of the triumph. well that, the seat height, the abs and the traction control.
Ha ha! I see! Well, the Ducati is meant to have more power, but delivers it differently... I would always advise riding them first. Especially as I haven't ridden the Ducati Scrambler and so can't give an honest and fair comparison.. But yes, this is a very fun and easy bike to ride... :-)
Thank you for the review sir,, it is so informative,, and you are so hilarious.. this street twin is on top my list now,, hope to bring her home soon...
Changing my Triumph American for a Street Twin, hopefully this week . The side stand coming down is on other models of Triumph.Triumph has modified them and painted them blue
Thanks for the review Captain. The bike looks great. I've ordered a T120 and can't wait to get my hands on it. The dealer recons it will be some time in May. Looking foreward to your review of the T120.
+Derrick Baker A very lucky man! Yes, I should be able to ride a T120 in March, so wait and see! I should be riding the new Speed Triple R next week! :-)
I was thinking whilst watching this.... needs clip ons and a small headlight cowl. Oh look, they do that. Jolly good. I love the placement of the pipe on the scrambler, would love a combo of that and the last options. All in satin black, of course. It does seem a bit slow though.
+Southern Fried Excellent points... Yes, I reckon it will do 0-60 in 5 seconds, maybe a little faster. It's a bit quicker than my old Thrusty after all! Maybe the same... Would be very different to Penny, but just as much fun, if not more so? I certainly try one if I were you and able? Thanks for watching chap and ride safely! Pip pip!
That's the one! The old air cooled scrambler was the only 270 degree crank and the bonnies were 360... with a smoother sound. But people loved the thump of the 270 so all the new ones are 270 to get that slightly artificial sound... I love it...
This review is a bit more Rambunctious "over the top" effusiveness than I would express, but when I rode a sample in Ft Worth it is all accurate. I wish I had an excuse to buy this. It is one happy, easy machine. Blandness comes because it is meant to please many different audiences. Most Triumph enthusiasts customize anyway, so the "bland" is almost moot. REALLY a thoroughly pleasant and fun machine that any motorcyclist can get on and ride well immediately. Not much to "get used to". Good Video, Captain!
+Greg B (Triumph) Thank you Greg! Yes, I am a rather enthusiastic chap, even ore so around Triumphs... I understand the purists but this is a great bike with plenty of ways to make it your own... Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Tally Bally Ho!
I'm totally sold on getting one of these. I'm quite a bit shorter than you, I could just about reach the ground from with one foot planted, so for me it's not too small at all, and indeed after smaller capacity bikes it feels really quite large.
Sounds perfect for you then! A lot of fun to ride as well... See if you are ok on the street scrambler. THat's even more fun somehow... Probably to do with the steering...
@@CaptainRambunctious cheers! The scrambler wont be much use too me I'm afraid, I'm going to be getting panniers and a top box for longer distance riding, the high exhaust of the scrambler only allows you the one pannier, so then I'd be riding around in circles. But, I could always swap out for a wider bar if I wanted - thanks for the suggestion! (Though, little legs also come with little arms.)
Great video & review mate I've recently just gotten into motorbikes and will hopefully be starting to learn soon. The Triumph Street Twin definitely seems like a bike I'd like to sit on and take for a test ride you've just earned yourself a new subscriber :).
+Gambit896 Thank you Gambit for the kind words! Yes, it's an excellent bike and would be perfect for a new rider, nice a light with plenty of poke to entertain with! :-) Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment... Tally Bally Ho!
I am on a 125 for now and will do my A2 and so on this summer. Wondered if this would be a good bike straight from training or whether better to go for a 400/600 for a while. Seems it has less HP than some 600s but still quite a heavy bike compared to a 125 of course. Tally Bally Safety advice welcome :)
No problem Brian. More than capable of being a first bike... I went straight on to my Bandit 600 and it was far heavier and less good handling... This is light and easy to ride and low too so plenty of flat footing for confidence if needed... Definitely a superb first bigger bike...
Thanks very much. As a short arse who has to snake through traffic to work in Monaco every day I need the feet down. A friend is selling his Triumph as he has sprogged, so maybe I will buy it and wait until I am ready and qualified to ride it. Right now though, happy to be on 125 as it is snowing even down here at the coast. :) Tally Bally Off Piste.
+Captain Rambunctious Yeah I do like the look of the T120 I must say - such a shame they didn't reserve the scramblerisation option for one of those beasties.... But the Street Twin sounds like fun, may have to take her for a spin and see.....great job on the review by the way, thorough, I like that.....
TheMissendenFlyer I reckon you'll be able to get the higher pipes on the 1200 too, but if you are getting a Scrambler, I reckon you'd go for the lighter and lighter looking 900 anyway... Maybe that was their thinking?
You all talk about the size of the 900 , and yes Cap, ur knees were almost to the front of the tank. But isn't the 900 slightly larger than the 1200 ? It must be all in the peg position and seat frame difference, cause the 1200 does seem taller. And I know Mr Flyer is shorter than 6ft, so either would be fine for him. I'm 5'11 and certain bikes feel small to me. Nice to see y'all talk shop. Must be nice to have a job having fun riding many new bikes . Ride safe guys.
Ah! This might be a case of lost in translation. Over here it's a parallel twin. What you think a parallel twin is we would call a flat twin... I think that's what you are saying. Yes it's a vertical twin but in the UK we call it a parallel twin, just as my Thruxton was as well... Thanks for watching and thank you for the comment.
Capt, I test rode one on tues . I too was impressed more low down oooomph than my modified ( increased power T100 ) nice ride great brakes can't fault it for what it is . For me seat height was too low ( I'm only 5'8") and pegs too far back . I have a steel leg with only 90 deg movement . Looking forward to the T120 might suit me better . Overall I second your review excellent
+andy blackburn Thank you! I'm glad you liked it and think the same way! Yes, those pegs would be too far back if you can only bend your leg 90, but then I'm not sure about the T120 either... Maybe as you are 5'8" you will be alright... Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment...
Good to see an unbiased report and genuinely excited (or deserve an Oscar), been a lot of negativity about this bike but I suspect Triumph got it right (again), probably too small for me but hoping the Thrux R meets expectations in same way.
+Brendan McCabe Thank you. I am a bit biased as I do like Triumphs, but I say if I don't like something... Yes, I am very excited about the Thruxton, and hope that my hopes aren't dashed... Thank you for watching, for the compliment and for taking the time to comment. Tally Bally Ho!
+Burnzymister You are a very lucky man! I'm waiting for the Thruxton R to come my way, but yes, I should be riding a T120 in March so I'll do a video then...
+SpinyBiker Ha ha! Yes indeed... But also wait until the 1200s are out. I am now SOOO excited about the 1200 Thruxton R! Because if this is the improvement on the 900, the 1200 should be amazing... And only 220kgs too so still 10kgs lighter than the old ones... and this with a 1200 liquid cooled engine... They've worked some magic!!!
Looks very nice, especially with the "scrambler" kit. Now I'd like to hear and feel that motor in person because in the video it looked a tad dull for 900 Twin tbh
+Shepper Stepper It definitely needed the slip ons at least but still had a thrum about town... Also, wait for the 1200s, they should be quite something! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment... TBH!
I had to come back to this one:brilliant video Cap! "Throaty, lovely, light, and nimble" is a such a good description. The Street Twin is possibly the best of the bunch if $ is considered.
Test rode a Twin today, the Cap'n is right and not remotely OTT. Immediately ordered one to replace my lovely Street Triple. Thank you Captain and TBH!
I was flabbergasted what a hoot it was especially having endured 2 grim years with an 865! Should arrive next month, Triumph having caught up a bit. Thrusty R best seller at Peterborough btw! TBH
Stephen Binns I thought it might be! It's an excellent bike but a lot more money than the Street Twin and the Twin has more ability for individuality and expression...
What options would someone like me, who is 6 foot 3 inches tall have with respect to the Street Twin? Would the bike be an awkward fit?Does the seat have any adjustment for height? Would a t120 seat fit? Even if the Bonneville frame is identical across the product line, the side covers may or may not be work with another seat for practical reasons.
I am fully aware of your issues. I'm 6'1" but with long legs and a short body. For example my legs are the same length as my brother's and he is 6'4". I'd have thought you'd be comfortable enough as I was, but the bench seat that comes with the brat tracker and scrambler inspiration kits are a bit higher so therefore more comfortable and you can get those on their own without paying for the full inspiration kits if you don't want to, but I can say that the brat tracker kit really is a nice combo... I hope the 1200s will be a bit more roomy but I have to wait until March to get my hands on one of those! I hope this helps a bit. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Pip pip!
Your the third vlogger that has reviewed this bike.. and well i love it, I love the old bonnie`s from my dad lol... Awesome review.. great vid.. your really funny funny lol.. haha - and for the awesome review and you being funny .. i`ve subbed you.. awesome stuff
I love it! It's everything I'd hoped it would be. The reason that I got rid of my Thruxton is that I wanted a bit more power. This is a lot more performance with 10kgs less!! Not sure about my bad knee and the riding position though so we'll have to see when I test it! Sounds like it will need a better seat though! They pretty much said all that I would have done, so not sure what I'll say if I review it that is different apart from a few more Tally Bally Hos and bloody hells!
+Captain Rambunctious haha thanks for the reply. I think you should definitely review it you get a chance. We like the honesty and enthusiasm you bring to your videos. I'm really liking the look of the Thruxton, and now with the power, seems like a well balanced machine. Thanks again for the reply.
Great review. I was watching this at work on nightshift and a mate asked about it, now he's hooked on the Captain too. I'm torn between this and the T120. The lower price makes this great value but the extra power of the T120 is calling me as well. That selfie stick footage made this bike look tiny AF. Anyhoo, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching James! I can only apologise for losing your friend to my videos as well... ;-) Yes, the wide angle on the lense of the camera does make the bike look slightly smaller, but if I reduced the angle then you wouldn't get so much in... :-) Thanks again and enjoy the Spring when it comes! :-)
very good review. as for the led display it would have been nice for triumph to include water temperature as an option. does it at least have a water temperature idiot light? also is this bike built in the UK?
I believe that it is put together in the UK and fully checked over. There isn't a water temp gauge, but yes, there is a hot water light... That at least helps... :-) Thank for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Guess what I am reviewing next week! ;-) The new Softail Slim S! :-) Having ridden the older softail slim, this should be fun! Will also chat to them and see if I can demo others... :-)
I love everything about this bike except the low revving engine, but your review made me want to at least give it a chance. I chose my Street Triple over the 865 air cooled Bonneville because of all the things the old one didn't have that this one now does.
+Michael Keller Yes... It is a very similar handling bike to the Street Triple, but without the power of course, but instead of that you get comfort and classic looks (ish)... Certainly try one... Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Tally Bally Ho!
Lovely Bike...totally jealous that i cannot get hold of that, here, in India. Also the exchange rate would definitely kill me. But that is the longest review that i ever watched. Would love to own a bonnie someday. Good review. Thanks.
+scorpiondud Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it. Someone from India has said that it will be available there in the next couple of months but maybe he is doing something special? Anyway, glad you made it though alive! Thank you for watching and thank you for commenting...
Never been much of a fan of the 'twins',but I like this. Shame they're made in Malaysia? Please test the new Tiger 1050. Another bike I'm interested in.
Im possibly 100% taking the beauty that is the Thruxton out in a few days. Loved the structure of the video buddy. can i have some of the drugs your taking lol
+The chronicles of mr fish Um, No. It feels absolutely fine and comfortable when you are on it and it doesn't look small when you are off it admiring it.. I'd just say that if you have long legs, the initial feeling is that it is small but that goes away very quickly.. I suppose you could say the same for the Grom?
Thanks captain ... Everything I need to know .. most of what I wanted to know ....and a whole lot of stuff that ..... well I guess we put down to idiosyncrasy ...... Sounds like my perfect bike .. except for one fatal flaw .. a 12 litre tank just doesn't cut it when you live in Australia
+William Dent I see your point! But it should still easily do 150 miles though... That's the same as most other bikes that have 15-17L tanks! But yes, I can see an issue... :-) Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Especially from all the way over there! :-) Tally Bally Ho!
...hello; so when the T120 and thruxtons will be on the reports? I only see these street twins. Here in this country, the rep is selling 2015 s bonnies as 2016...
However, a word of warning. AT the time of making of this review, the street scrambler did not exist. So I was comparing it to the older air cooled 865cc scrambler. If you'd like a comparison with the new street scrambler, see that review that I have done, but I must say that the street scrambler is a lot better than the street twin in my opinion. More fun to ride and feels lighter and is taller so suits my frame better... Thanks again
One of the best bike bloggers by far. Keep it up.
Thank you Terry! Very kind.
And thank you for watching!
TBH!
I could listen to this guy ramble on about stuff ALL DAY and be happy about it.
+cuzimaluzer777 Crikey! Praise indeed, but it does make me wonder about your mind... ;-)
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
Tally Bally Ho!
What a happy bouncy Captain you are!!! Your joy is infectious, keeping me entertained for half an hour is no mean feat. Fantastic work Sir!
+motorslyclist Thank you! These do get rather long when I'm trying to give all the info I can but it's so much fun too! Not the bike for me, but still excellent fun nonetheless... I've got my eyes set straight on the Thruxton R, but I have to wait until April to try one of those out! :-(
Thanks for watching!
Tally Bally Ho!
Probably the best shot, edited, detailed but not overly so, funny and fun seriously serious review I have ever watched.
Top hole, old chap. Whizzo.
That's very kind of you to say! Thank you. So far, 3 people don't agree! 😊 ha ha! Ah well...
Captain Rambunctious
Fear not, that is just three people who have never heard of Prozac.
+InTheNameOfJustice ha ha! 😉
I so enjoyed your commentary and review, I laughed along with you, this was just fab! Thank you so much. Cheers!
Robert Jennings that’s very kind! Thank you for watching! Many more where they came from!
Very good review! And it's very cool that you answer the comments! :-)
Thank you very much! I try to, but sometimes it takes a while as real life gets in the way!
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Tally Bally Ho! 😉
Great review, Captain. Love the enthusiasm! That's what it's all about. Cheers.
+Phil M Thank you! I believe so too! :-)
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
After watching that again I have to say capt oll Mate....the overall review was bloody excellent. ..production,editing,narration and the usual high quality of personal input was impressive. ..
Top notch mate!
+WEGGY zx12r Thanks Weggy, but you watched it AGAIN?! Are you some kind of masschist? ;-)
Captain Rambunctious Yeah probably oll mate....
Saying that credit where credit is due.
Really like the look and sound of this new street twin, good review lad !
+paul whitehead Thanks Paul... It's quite a machine. It means that the T120 and Thruxton should really be something rather special! :-)
This Monday collection. In Ironstone. Cant wait.
Fantastic! I'm sure you'll love it!
Nice review. And o liked that it you added a lot of humour and fun to it with your reaction to the bike. It wasn't OTT as you replied to some previous comment but quite natural and made the review that much more likeable. Searching for the T120 review of yours.
another brilliant review Captain, thanks a lot, cant wait for your review on the new S3
+iamhammer5 Thanks Ian! Going to try to ride it on Tuesday morning!
it's not ian FFS. i'm Steve it's .. I am hammers
iamhammer5 Sorry Steve! I was tired when I replied and my eyes read Ian... Doh! Please accept my apologies...
Congrats on being one of the first to review this bike Captain, hope to try one soon!! Hope your still loving the Tiger, Im still loving mine!
Not that I'm at all excited you understand! ;-)
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Tally Bally Ho!
LOL, I love your review!!! I love the fun you have while actually giving good information, and you just have fun!!!! Thanks for this.
Oh yeah, I sub'd also..keep up the great reviews!!!!!
Ha ha! Brilliant! :-) Thank you for the support and kind words... :-)
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! :-)
Tally Bally Ho!
Thanks for the great review! I really enjoyed your genuine excitement.
You're most welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting..
Well tally-bally-ho, brother!
The bench seat adds some height. I managed to sit on both seat styles at the launch night.
+D4nny B0y Ah, good point! Thanks for that! :-)
What did you think of the engine when they started her up?
Another thorough review Captain. Good stuff.
+vitaly deuterium Thank you my good man! Thanks for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment! :-) Hope the weather is treating you fairly well down south! :-)
First day of no rain for over a week. It's been bloody awful!
+vitaly deuterium sorry to hear that! I thought that was one of the benefits of being a Francophile!
It is if you live in Marseilles...... Not in the Basque country though !
I saw one of these sitting beside a previous model year bonny and it's amazing how the changes make the Triumph look much more finished. The clutch is ridiculously light despite being cable operated clutch as you said.
Yes! All good points! 😉
Wonderful scabbard you have strapped to your back Captain!
+Mark Masztal Thank you! :-) For when one has use of one's tripod! ;-)
I can't wait to try this motorbike... I'm feeling already in love with it!!
It's a very capable and good bike, but the new Scrambler which is based on it is somehow much more fun! Try that as well is my advice! :-)
Thanks for watching and commented.
Tally bally Ho!
Great review. Love your narrative. You've got another follower. Oh love the bike. I'm getting it!! Period.
Ha ha! Thank you. Excellent choice too. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it... Thanks for watching and for the comment too!
Best review and most entertaining, loved it. Subscribed and gonna get watching. Fantastic man!
Thanks Darrell! :-) Lots to watch! :-)
Love the review, thinking about test riding one of these after the lockdown..
Love your enthusiasm!
+Craig Coughlin Thanks Craig! I just can't help myself! :-)
hi, my mate has just bought one.gave him your review because abolutely tina the best
reg56114 lovely to hear! I’m glad to have been a help! Thank you for watching and for the support!
What an excellent detailed and entertaining review! Great job!!
Can't for the Street Twin to launch in Dubai :)
+immyboi Thank you! Yes, that would be some great riding over there!
Great review fella, love it✊
+Doticaster Ha ha! Good luck! :-)
Tally Ho! Can't wait for my test ride this Sunday @ Hemel Triumph. Testing two very different bikes, this one and the St Triple. Let's see. Excellent review, on my local roads that too! Thank you matey.
Have fun Samar! The Triple has more oomph but they handle similar... See which grabs you... It'll be down to personality and fun I reckon!
How did it go Samar?
+Captain Rambunctious hey, test rode both the twin & the triple. The triple put a bigger smile on my face so ordered a 16 plate!
+Samar Pankanti fair enough! I had one for a year so know what you mean! Enjoy and congratulations! 😊🏍
That's it! Am buying it with spoke rims and vance & hines!
+Vikas D Nambiar Ha ha! Excellent combo!
+Vikas D Nambiar , got mine 6 weeks ago , its having the chrome spoked wheels fitted on the 26th April , should look awesome. I love the bike, can be chucked into corners and it works really well with a pillion. Its FUN :-)
+Jonathan Vogel Awesome! I figured it was fun! So light! :-) And the spoked wheels will look perfect! :-)
Took a test ride on the Bonny the other day and I loved it, not enough to get one in preference to the R1200RS which will be replacing my 1200R this year, but if I could warrant adding another to the shed I'd buy one.
+Tony BMW Splendid stuff! You'd have had to change your name as well and that will never do! :-)
Thanks for watching!
TBH!!!
You're very welcome! :-) Thank you for watching and see what you think of it at the weekend.
TBH!
Great revue and a great looking bike...I likes that a lot!
+Grumpy old sod on a bike. Thank you. Yes, very nice bike. Fills me with extreme excitement for the 1200s now! :-) Next month apparently... April for the new Speed Triple...
By the way I agree with you about those reflectors on the forks...What were they thinking!?
Grumpy old sod on a bike. HAS to be some sort of EU directive... They would be the first thing I would remove.. :-)
+Grumpy old sod on a bike. Very likely U.S. or Canadian vehicle visibility requirements. If your jurisdiction doesn't require them, just take them off.
Greg B Yes indeed. They will be taken off! :-)
You’re most welcome! Thank you for watching and taking the time to add your thoughts!
Thank you for the great review. I'm saving to buy one. Hopefully, will buy it before the end of this year :D
+subhan khan Ooh! Well good luck and thank you for your kind words!
Thank you for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Brilliant Captain... Excellent review & i want one! Thanks for the video old chap! I want one, lol...
Tally Bally Ho!
+David Vickers And thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
so I've been debating between this, the ducati scrambler and the yahama sr400. your joy in riding this bike has definitely leaned me in the direction of the triumph. well that, the seat height, the abs and the traction control.
Ha ha!
Excellent and thank you for watching and for the nice comments...
Absolute brilliant review...that torque 59ft.lbs @ 3200 rpm (22% more power mid-range) if I was getting a motorcycle now...it would be this! 😎
+MrJpb2000 Time to get a motorcycle then! ;-)
Thanks for watching!
Tally Bally Ho!
Realy funny and "real" review...compliments.
Thank you! Thank you for watching and for the kind comment.
quality. thanks Captain
Changing my Triumph American for a Street Twin, hopefully this week . The side stand coming down is on other models of Triumph.Triumph has modified them and painted them blue
I see! Well thanks for the advice!
Sounds like a good plan! Good luck and most of all, have fun!
Pip pip!
Captain Rambunctious There's a Triumph dealer quite near me so I should ought to really.
+Southern Fried bulldog triumph aren't bad. Destination is quite close to you too?
Captain Rambunctious That's the one.
I think Triumph went to a 270 degree crank to emulate the sound of a V twin engine. I have heard a few newer Triumphs and the sound is sexy!
In love with this bike
The more I watch it / still loving it
great review.... looks like a fun easy bike. bloody good looking.
+Virtu FA It is! Both!
Thanks for watching! :-)
Very nice looking bike. Thanks for the walk around.
+sam smith You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment...
Hi did you do a back to back review on the old 865 bonny v the new street twin ?
But did you like it??
Ha ha! Yes. But I'm reserving final judgement on the fact that I know the Bonnie and Thruxton are going to be these but more.... Hnnnnnnn....
NOT A parallel twin, a vertical twin only. But looking forward to the launch here in Daytona.
Infact reminded me of a 250 on L plates in the 70's . But perhaps I'm looking through tinted glasses.
+andy blackburn It sounds like it! :-)
Have a deposits down on the T120. Stoked. As soon as you know anything, please pass it along.
+Burnzymister You are a very lucky man! I'm waiting for the Thruxton R to come my way, but yes, I should be riding a T120 in March so I'll do a video then...
where do I sign? oh bugger going to the launch at my dealership tomo. Best lock my cheque book and cards up at home before I go!
Oh yes, money considered, it's the same price as the old ones but so much better...
Thank you for liking it... I'm glad that it helps some! :-)
Test rode a Twin today, the Cap'n is right and not remotely OTT. Immediately ordered one to replace my lovely Street Triple. Thank you Captain and TBH!
Huzzah! :-) You're most welcome and thank you for the kind and encouraging words...
Hope you get to enjoy it before the winter and TBH! :-)
Pip pip!
Nice and funny review! Congrats!
Thank you Ricky! Thank you for watching... :- )
Your the third vlogger that has reviewed this bike.. and well i love it, I love the old bonnie`s from my dad lol... Awesome review.. great vid.. your really funny funny lol.. haha - and for the awesome review and you being funny .. i`ve subbed you.. awesome stuff
+Wolfie Pics Thanks Wolife! THat's very kind of you! :-)
Thank you also for taking the time to comment.
Tally Bally Ho!
+Captain Rambunctious NP..
I really wish the bench seat was standard. Other than that, I really like this bike.
If the seat is all you want to change you’re lucky!! 😁
Just saw the bike world review of the 2016 Thruxton R.. Wow!! What do you think of it? Triumph has really brought their A-Game this year!
DeAnO1473 You're welcome! :-)
Thank you, I will review it of course... Should be with the dealer in April...
I can only apologise for losing your friend to my videos as well... ;-)
Yes, the wide angle on the lense of the camera does make the bike look slightly smaller, but if I reduced the angle then you wouldn't get so much in... :-)
Thanks again and enjoy the Spring when it comes! :-)
I'd like to see you testing the T-120! I'm considering the T-120 Black!! But I also want see a review on the new Thruxton
+Donavan Me too! I can't wait to get my hands on those! About March apparently...
Great video. Cheers!
in love with that bike (=
It's rather lovely! Ticks a lot of boxes!
I love your enthusiasm and knowledge! This has completely sold me on the Street Twin!
Thank you Andre, but if you can afford it, have a look at the T120 as well...
+Captain Rambunctious Thank you for the suggestion! I will check it out next.
Excellent review, by the way, what is the name of that band/ tune that was playing during the selfie stick portion of the vlog?
+Bruce Travis I'm afraid that I don't know. It came with my video editing software as one of the jingles... Sorry!
Captain, I got a silver open face for the DGR.
very good! I've got the Roland Sands Bell Custom 500. It's perfect... Love it! :-)
Goggles or glasses?
Bugger. My Tiger is getting nervous. Being a short arse the street twin is really appealing. Thanks for the review Captain.
I bet it is! :-) If you like the Tiger, check out the new Scrambler. I would have it over any Tiger... Latest vid up on it. Hope it helps!
ahahahahah
oh my gosh! DUDE! You are hilarious!
you crap me out of laugh! :)
nice video
One tries one's best! :-)
yea the Bonneville/Thruxton T120 are about to come out it will be awsome!
very good review. as for the led display it would have been nice for triumph to include water temperature as an option. does it at least have a water temperature idiot light? also is this bike built in the UK?
I believe that it is put together in the UK and fully checked over.
There isn't a water temp gauge, but yes, there is a hot water light... That at least helps... :-)
Thank for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Another great video Captain
Pity we haven't got a bloke doing Harley reviews as you do
Tally bally ho old man
Guess what I am reviewing next week! ;-) The new Softail Slim S! :-) Having ridden the older softail slim, this should be fun! Will also chat to them and see if I can demo others... :-)
Captain Rambunctious
Loved your first one quite entertaining
Onwards and upwards Capt TBH
Greg Milona THank you Greg! :-) TBH!
Really want you to know that your review has cost me a Street Twin! Love the ride and I'm only 500 miles in, great bike.
+Eric Sparkman Fantastic to hear! Thanks Eric... Glad you are liking it...
And thank you for watching and for letting me know...
Enjoy!
Thanks for the great video. Would you say this is a suitable first bike or is it a bit too powerful in the low range?
+James Davison Very suitable first bike. After all, the Street Triple was my first bike and this is a more manageable easy bike to ride!
This is a little late but yes, the old Bonnie's had the flashers.
Thank you for the reply!
I would really like to own a modern classic, the problem is that I would miss reverse forks and huge brakes of the Triple...
dallatorretdu one name: Thruxton R. What I have! 😊
is there a 2-UP option? Do you know how much more they want for it?
dallatorretdu the thruxton R is £11500. Yo just get a dual seat for £150 and pillion pegs for £50.
+scorpiondud It is available from this month. They have already started to accept bookings.
Never been much of a fan of the 'twins',but I like this. Shame they're made in Malaysia? Please test the new Tiger 1050. Another bike I'm interested in.
+threepot Will let you know!
very nice review. I must give it a go. really enjoy the channel- keep it up...ducati scrambler review next?
+GTFiorano Thank you. Yes, need to twist the arm of the local dealer. Might grab +TheMissendenFlyer and go with him! :-)
Im possibly 100% taking the beauty that is the Thruxton out in a few days.
Loved the structure of the video buddy.
can i have some of the drugs your taking lol
+TheLuisVlogs1 Thank you. And unfortunately, I am just hampered with an insane and overly exuberant, some say rambunctious, personality! ;-)
I gotta have a pair of those gloves!
Good review , is it as small as I looks ? (Even though I own a grom)
+Captain Rambunctious might just have to go and check one out ...although I wouldn't tour to far on the grom
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Especially from all the way over there! :-)
Tally Bally Ho!
If I were half a foot shorter, I'd have one. Unfortunately there don't seem to be any naked bikes for a 37" inseam.
They do a lower seat and lower suspension too so there's no reason you can't... 😉👍🏻
I'd need the stock seat nearly 3" higher and bar risers which would make it possible but make it look kind of funny too.
Chris Esser Then wait for the T120! Bigger and taller and much much more.
...hello; so when the T120 and thruxtons will be on the reports? I only see these street twins.
Here in this country, the rep is selling 2015 s bonnies as 2016...
The T120s and Thruxtons have just been released to the press so another few weeks and we should get our hands on them...
Ive never heard a bike reviewer having so much fun !! lol
Slack blame the bikes... and maybe my personality a little...
Awesome review even compared it with the scrambler which i was looking for
Thanks Jayson!
