    My first bike after 30 years, you nailed it, really easy to ride, I’ve had mine for 3 years, no reason to move on. I ride round town mostly, ride the highway as well, interstates are boring , I prefer to get of and take the scenic route.

    I WANT ONE!!! I want one so bad that I've got my Harley up for sale. If I can sell my Harley before Spring I hope to have a Triumph Speed Twin 900 in my gargae next Spring.
    There are several reasons why I'm choosing the Triumph Speed Twin 900 (Triumoh changed the name). One is the softer ride, my Halrey rides like a dump truck. It is such a harsh ride for the passenger, (my wife always rides with me) that my wife hates it.
    Other reasons why I'm choosing the Speed Twin 900 are the upswept megaphone mufflers. WIth the Bonneville T100 and T120 the mufflers are in the way of the rear axle to where you have to remove them for chain adjustments and tire changes. And I like alloy wheels so I can run tubeless tires. The Bonneville T100 and T120 have spokes rims, as they should for that real retro look, but they have to run tube tires. Don't get me wrong I love the look of the peashooter exhaust and the spoke wheels on the Bonneville T100 and T120, I just prefer the Speed Twin 900.
    Wish me luck selling my Halrey and buying my first Triumph. I'm 70 years old and have owned many motorcycles since 1967, mostly Japanese bikes and four Harleys. I am so excited to maybe own my first Triumph.
    Ride safe and evjoy every journey.

    This is perhaps the best review of this bike I've seen. Reviewer is excellent - clear, no dramatics, enthused, knows a good bit about bikes. I'm now quite inspired to get a Street Twin, 2019 or newer. I had a 2017 T120 (1200cc) - it was gorgeous, powerful, but techy & lacked 'soul' for me, esp. as compared to the '66 & '68 Bonnies I had way back. I'm going to test ride a Street Twin.

      Thank you so much for the kind words! I hope you find a 'Bonnie' you'll love. This one belongs to a friend of mine and I still get to ride it occasionally and it always makes me smile.
      Thanks for watching!

    Im 37 and just bought my very first bike, a 2019 Street Twin with 2500 miles. I have nothing to compare it to, but I do know that from the moment I accelerated onto the street during the test drive I was sold. I drove around a lot for 2 minutes, pulled back around and told the salesmen thats all i needed. Its such a pleasure to ride. For me it's loads of power, actually I struggle to not slide off the flat bench seat. im looking for a stock seat now for more comfort on longer rides. Great video here mate, and lovely bike.

      I'm 42 and buying my first bike within a month from this reply. It's going to be a 2019 street twin as well. What a bike. Hope you're riding safe and good luck out there.

    Excellent video production. Unlike a lot of other review videos, you get the see the bike, instead of just rider’s POV and helmet shots.

    Thats a great review. I thought my 2008 street triple was the best bike I’d had but I sat on a street twin last week and thought it was comfortable. I think it will be my next bike. The street triple had bags more power and speed than I used or needed. The twin looks great.

    I once had a CB500F (2013 Model) for about 3 years, It was supposed to be a beginner's big bike. It's not a bad motorcycle at all, but after I got a 2016 Street Twin the Honda felt like rubbish to me. There's no snatching of the throttle, it's very mild and progressive, although it's heavier the weight is very low including the seat which I found to be very comfortable. just 55hp?...yes, but don't be fooled, the torque is addictive, it gets up to speed quickly but be aware it's not a Rocket, but kind of a cruiser disguised as a standard motorcycle.

    I own one, everything sounds really accurate .
    A bonneville edition was used in a 007 movie, they reinforced the suspensions of course and and brakes to perform the stunts, but it shows how well is balanced to ride and performs well in the city.

      Maybe, but not sure the difference is notable enough to make a video of it...
      I rode one off camera a while back. It was mostly the same from what I remember. Everything I mentioned here pretty much applies I mean...
      I think the t100 feels a tad heavier and slightly more bulky. I remember it had a slightly less centering/standing up effect than this new S.T.
      But between the two, this Street Twin was the one that left me with the better lasting impression. When I handed t100 keys over I was left thinking it was nice.
      When I had to give these keys back after filming this video I reaaaaaly wanted it permanently.

      The cast wheels on the Street Twin are a lot easier to keep clean than the spoke wheels on the T100. The T100 looks like a classic bike, especially with that old Triumph gas tank. The Street Twin looks like a modern bike with a classic engine. You get twin clocks on the T100 but their 1970 styling makes them harder to read than the new TFT display on the Street Twin. In addition to the TFT, I also prefer the styling of the exhaust pipes on the Street Twin over the old pea shooters on the T100.

    I love this bike. I'm getting one. tomorrow! (3/21). My question is regarding the mirrors. Do you like the bar-end mirrors? I can't decide if I want to get that upgrade yet on the bike.

      Ummm, so I've ridden a few bikes with bar end mirrors. It really depends on if the mirror kit is high quality or not. Most of the cheap sets are junk. They shake, and loosen on the throttle side and rotate in the handlebar tube.
      However, this bike had the triumph accessory ones and are fantastic. They worked perfectly and look great.
      I'm very broad and many standard handlebar motorcycles' mirrors tend to show me my elbows. These gave me a nicer view behind me as I rode.
      However, any bar end mirrors make you take your eyes further away from the road ahead, so your glances take your eyes away from the forward view for a tad longer.
      Not a deal breaker but it has to be said. In my case, a longer glance but a better view is worth it.
      Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it.

      Well, when i got mine ST,first thing i noticed was that standard mirrors didnt let me see well on my back. I needed to move bust right and left for watch what was happening back,so i ordered a pair of Montana bar ends mirrors. Once i fitted and settled i just needed to move my eyes on sides of helmet. Thats all🤷
      I never regret money.

      Royal Enfield 47 horsepower 650 vs Triumph 65 horsepower 900. Triumph fit and finish are very much superior but at a much higher cost than the RE. They are both torquey machines good for easy riding and will both easily cruise along at 70 mph on the motorway.

    How tall are you? I’m 6’1 210lbs and concerned I’m too big for the bike. You fit it well, but like me, you sit tall. How’s the comfort for you?

    • @theCycleReport
      @theCycleReport 2 роки тому +1

      6'2", 230 and loooong in the torso as far as my height breakdown is concerned, as you noticed.
      I think its perfectly comfortable for local riding but it's not the bike I'd choose for longer distances.
      That said, I have done all day long rides on its sibling t100 before and it wasn't bad.
      Tl,Dr it really just depends on usage for me. Thanks for watching!

    How are these bikes in the highway? Is the engine stressed?

    • @theCycleReport
      @theCycleReport 3 роки тому +3

      Not at all.
      I mean, Like any standard/naked bike, you're all into the wind, it's not really made for long distance comfort and its not the kind of power to rip triple digits easily...
      But assuming you mean can it keep up with traffic flow, it does so effortlessly.

      @theCycleReport 2 місяці тому

      I'm 6'2", 230lb with a long torso. For the kind of riding I would do on this bike if it were mine, it's a great size. It's never going to be a touring bike but for local or short half day rides it's great.
