"trying to grow big"??? Are you on crack? BigAg is EXACTLY why rural communities are falling apart and young people RUN away as fast as possible. You are so far the azz of BigAg & Farm bureau you can't even see the light of fires burning down rural America
We would love to see haying videos, I have nothing but respect for you, it is so hard to get into farming in this day and age. we need more young farmer like you.
I can tell you’re well versed in Economics! Love your charts plotting land values vs the M2 money supply & historical land values. Keep up the great work!!!
on my 50th year farm/ranch in western Canada keep your pencil sharp and your tools clean all the respect in the world to you good luck and LETTE'R BUCK !!!
Thanks! Lyn is def my fav macro analyst! Currently reading her book, "Broken Money". I think this will go down as a top 5 favorite book for sure! Only halfway through, and it has me thinking I still don't own enough Bitcoin.
I would love to see some haying videos. Brings back memories of cutting, raking & baling hay in the 1960's in northeast Indiana. I drove a JD 2010 to cut, an old JD "B" to rake & a neighbor's small MF to bale. Drove a JD 4020 to plow & till. You cannot beat the 4020. I enjoy watching your videos down here in TX. Best wishes for a successful 2024 farming season!😊
Always appreciate the update and always look forward to when you guys put out new vids. My opinion, the more the merrier. There are quite a few farming videos on UA-cam, but very little farming videos from the perspective of a new farmer. I find it fascinating. Thanks again God bless.
I am hoping to buy a farm in northern Missouri and start new, Its great to see 1st generation farmers Becoming more and more common. I love the content and I hope your farm turns out great!
Check out the FSA Beginner Farmer loan if you need a loan! Spencer used it and it worked great for him! With interest rates at current levels the BFL is really attractive!
Great to see a man with a plan! A word of caution regarding tile plows, there have been problems with keeping grade if running through hard ground and getting off grade even a little leads to big issues. Best of luck, I'm pulling for you!
Hey Grant It's great to see new first generation farmers. I'm living in the Netherlands and it is not possible for going after my dream. Great jobs guy Good luck in the future
I absolutely love your new American Farming game. I would like to see the ability to use "hired" hands increased to more than two. Other than that, it's coming along great. Thanks for putting this out.
Make that 5 acre triangle hay, would give Spencer an added opportunity and put the land to use! Especially considering the point rows you’d have if you were to row crop it
Lovin' the tiling! I'm torn on the idea of owning a tile plow. Old 4 wheeler sounds like a lot of maintenance, but, simpler to work on than other stuff maybe? Excavator, semi, and tile plow, maybe a Hilbert brothers tiling business? Quite a change from software.
My first water trailer setup I used a tandem axles car trailer with a 1000 gallon fiberglass tank pulled by my half ton pickup, all In all I think the total cost was $2,200 after I bought the pump, I was just able to get water from my local co op
Grant, your local water department should be able to fix you up with water. May cost a bit but could be pretty reasonable. That would help your issue of not water for the sprayer.
The farm land in NW Iowa is very close to Sioux Falls is why it's so expensive. Sioux falls is booming, the building going on here is unbelievable. I live in Sioux falls. So many people want to live out in the country. Loved watching Spence s hay videos.
The farm Grant was referring to was in Sioux county, Ia, which is not as close to Sioux falls as I thought. You are right very good farm found. I guess all it takes a farm auction 2 buyers that really want the land to bid it up to add to there operation.
I think that 5 Acres by the railroad would be perfect for hay Are there any plans to ever release American Farming for handheld devices like the Nintendo switch, and Steam Deck?
My biggest suggestion is farm the pieces together but put corn in one and beans on the other. Otherwise it’s a confusing mess of splitting to make it fair. Two different crops is the way to go
If you get a new tractor what would it be. I would also love to see haying content. Also fo you turn off you combine batteries. It will save them they last so much longer
…. I’d love to see the cost of an acre priced in gold against time. Using the Eighties as a reference (Dust Bowl and gold confiscation interfere with data from a century ago) interesting to speculate where the mean is that they may or may not revert to.
Hey Grant I have been watching you from start and I have also purchased the game. I am from India. I love watching your game play and farming videos. Also the game is best. But I being a student I can’t pay for DLC equipment’s. Truck edition is ❤ Lots of love from India to you brother.
It will be interesting to see what yall do this year farming wise, do think 5 acers of hay comming out like 20 if ya have 4 cuts would be nice, a tile plow or a sprayer are intresting equipment choices cuz I'm courious on how much money ya can make off them.....
It is good to see some hay, here in Spain we plant more alfalfa it is also more profitable. Is it not that area good for planting alfalfa? Thank you for the video by the way i cant wait to see new videos :)
I would replace the bridge a recycled railroad flat car would be a peferct replacement there a company the sell.Dtive in som pilings to hold it in place.
On the tile plow that’s a great idea but in my opinion you might destroy that the 8110 I don’t really know about the how it would work but that’s what I think I know it would destroy our magnum 7230 it’s probably pushing 250 horse but the tile plow would destroy it’s drive line
Hi, can you tell me what you play on for Rosalia 22 up on my Xbox and I’m trying to figure out how do I do what you Gotta do because on mine is a barriers and I don’t know what to do if you can tell me that you really really great I am a big fan you guys I watch like all your videos you and boss man
A really good 4wd tractor would be something like an 84 or 8850. we have an 8450 in real life. 225 horsepower and has been going strong since the sixties
Id say tile and farm that back peace but then our experience is a sprayer is going to be way more worth it than a tile plow id for to just hire out the tile and build a shed along a road and get heat and everything in it break room electrical pluming that stuff full concrete floor and put a well right next to it then id look into a second tractor doesn't need to be near as new as the 8110 our biggest tractor is a 8110 and were farming 1500 acres id look into somthing like a 4630 similar horse just older and cheaper mabey a little slower but id buy that a cart the 4630 could pull then id look into a sprayer and along with it a roof off to the side of the shed you could put water tanks in that way you can just fill up and go your not waiting on the well at that point id start thinking cold storage land and a small bin setup mabey 2 bigger bins im talking by our pa standards not the massive ones you guys got out there but 2 bins one a top dry for your corn then a wet bin and a smaller bean dryer
I always enjoyed your fs22 videos that you did. I myself play fs22 all the time. Just trying to figure out some stuff with multiplayer/role play. New to that. Would appreciate any information you could pass along or any help that you could offer, so I could play more multiplayer/role play on fs22.
No one is talking about 20% interest rates and $2.90 corn and wheat...I had a guy tell me that farmland never goes backwards...my 80 yr old dad said...how do you think we got our farm?
I’m a professional farm manager and I remember having cash corn sales at $2.88 just a few years ago. Looking at crop insurance prices in his looks like late 2012 going into 2013
Its great to have some more young farmers tryin to grow big we need more people like u grant
"trying to grow big"???
Are you on crack?
BigAg is EXACTLY why rural communities are falling apart and young people RUN away as fast as possible.
You are so far the azz of BigAg & Farm bureau you can't even see the light of fires burning down rural America
Yes.....but a high price to pay and make a go of it!!!!!!!
It’s great to see new first gen farmers !!
Out of all the farmers i watch on UA-cam, you are definitely the smartest with all of the number side of things, and your still young. Great job 👏🏼
Hey Grant. Love the content! I'm glad that you have found success as a fellow farmer from Iowa! Good luck in all of your future endeavors!
I love the way you explain everything like no farmers do rn! Hope you have a lot more success!
We would love to see haying videos, I have nothing but respect for you, it is so hard to get into farming in this day and age. we need more young farmer like you.
Thanks Braxton!
Yep
Creek is the Sound an old rockin chair makes when it's bein sat in. A Crick is where you go fishin... Really glad you're sharin your journey with us!
used to watch the squad relogously a few years ago. It's great to see your doing it for real now!
I love how much work you do sauad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can tell you’re well versed in Economics! Love your charts plotting land values vs the M2 money supply & historical land values. Keep up the great work!!!
Congratulations i remember the early days of the sqaud on farm 19 and now you guys are taking the things you talked about and making it happen!
Nice vid Grant thanks for keeping us updated on the farm
would enjoy seeing the hay vids, additional content for both you and Spencer!
Great job grant love the new ground. Would definitely love to see some hay videos.
love how he just casually buys farms, it amazes me
Love seeing young guys getting in, good luck w prices this next 3 years, it's crunch time
Love it man been watching you for years now and it's so awsome to see you expanding your farm its awsome keep it up!😊
on my 50th year farm/ranch in western Canada keep your pencil sharp and your tools clean all the respect in the world to you good luck and LETTE'R BUCK !!!
Lookin good can’t wait to see more upgrades keep at it
“There’s no clear path on how to start farming” this one resonated with me to say the least.
Congratulations, I remember watching you so long ago when I was way younger. I would just dream of being like you on farming sim.
I'm getting to be middle aged, and it's inspiring to see a young farmer taking life by the horns.
Even quoting Lyn Alden! (one of my faves)
Thanks! Lyn is def my fav macro analyst! Currently reading her book, "Broken Money". I think this will go down as a top 5 favorite book for sure! Only halfway through, and it has me thinking I still don't own enough Bitcoin.

Love to see more farm value analysis. Very interesting.
I don’t know how you do it. Multiple successful channels isn’t easy to pull off. I know it’s hard work but you’ve got the life man!
Always appreciate the update and always look forward to when you guys put out new vids. My opinion, the more the merrier. There are quite a few farming videos on UA-cam, but very little farming videos from the perspective of a new farmer. I find it fascinating. Thanks again God bless.

Great video mate I'm a new subscriber to you and Spencer keep up the great work guys look forward to seeing more
Hey Grant, I have been watching you for almost ten years now and your growth has been crazy. Keep up the amazing content.
Hey, thanks!
Great to see you getting land nearer home
Nice to see you Grant!
Keep up the great work Grant
Hey Grant
It's great to see new first generation farmers.
I'm living in the Netherlands and it is not possible for going after my dream.
Great jobs guy
Good luck in the future
good to see you are back brother, your stuff is really inspiring.
I absolutely love your new American Farming game. I would like to see the ability to use "hired" hands increased to more than two. Other than that, it's coming along great. Thanks for putting this out.
Hey, good video, its good to see other first gen farmer.Keep the great work.
Very interesting analysis of historical farmland values, thanks for sharing that. I'd be glad to see your haying on video, for sure.
Love your video may God bless you and be safe
Make that 5 acre triangle hay, would give Spencer an added opportunity and put the land to use! Especially considering the point rows you’d have if you were to row crop it
Awsome keep it up man. Congrats on the new land. Land is the best investment there is.
I hope you can get more land and a bigger farm
Lovin' the tiling! I'm torn on the idea of owning a tile plow. Old 4 wheeler sounds like a lot of maintenance, but, simpler to work on than other stuff maybe? Excavator, semi, and tile plow, maybe a Hilbert brothers tiling business? Quite a change from software.
graduations on your new farm ground 💯👍and yes I do like see more hay video too
My first water trailer setup
I used a tandem axles car trailer with a 1000 gallon fiberglass tank pulled by my half ton pickup, all
In all I think the total cost was $2,200 after I bought the pump, I was just able to get water from my local co op
Yes we would to see more videos
Incorporate some grazing! Build soil health! Where in IA are you at? I’m in SE MN. We do row cropping for our dairy but also do a lot of grazing.
I see a lot of people using dozers to run a tile plow now. Could also be an option.
Content on these videos are great.
Grant, your local water department should be able to fix you up with water. May cost a bit but could be pretty reasonable. That would help your issue of not water for the sprayer.
If your able to you could put up a shed and some bins on the land that isn’t tillable
Well you’re a better farmer than me and I grew up farming and now almost an orthopedic surgeon
The farm land in NW Iowa is very close to Sioux Falls is why it's so expensive. Sioux falls is booming, the building going on here is unbelievable. I live in Sioux falls. So many people want to live out in the country. Loved watching Spence s hay videos.
When the federal government basically got way too big for its britches people started to see getting away from the crazies in the suburbs and cities
The farmland is very fertile in nw Iowa. That’s why it’s expensive
The farm Grant was referring to was in Sioux county, Ia, which is not as close to Sioux falls as I thought. You are right very good farm found. I guess all it takes a farm auction 2 buyers that really want the land to bid it up to add to there operation.

There are a couple of those "farmyard + 150-300ac farms" in upstate NY that I might buy one of someday....:) Oh yea haying videos would be nice!:)
Don't forget your snow shovel 😅.
👍 love the squaud
Wonderful update, what happen to your farm which you built a shed for your farm equipments
That will be sold in the future👍
Yeah, the more videos the better!
great video. God bless your future!
Congrats on the land swap. New shed.soon. :)
I'd love to watch you guy's put up some hay.
Good job
Grant i love both youtube channels.I have a question are you going to do live stock
I’d hay that patch. Congrats!
I would replace the bridge a recycled railroad flat car would be a peferct replacement there a company the sell.Dtive in som pilings to hold it in place.

I WONDERED WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN GOOD LUCK
Time for more equipment
Geese I got some farm land for you...2 full quarters...half pasture half crop land full yard site
In the exact same situation in Canada
great to hear your story!:) Are you gonna upload some tillage videos as well?
Most likely not. I didn't do much tillage (Spencer did a majority of it for us).
@@granthilbert5632 Thank you! Maybe Spencer will upload something on his channel.:)
Nice land👍👍
A really good 4wd tractor would be something like an 84 or 8850. we have an 8450 in real life. 225 horsepower and has been going strong since the sixties
Correction: 80's/90's

Dude, you can pull water for sprayer out of that creek. Just get a filter
As a farmer you don’t buy land, you buy access and the rights to water!
Have you considered a spray drone?
I have not. Would be interesting tho!
What did you go to college for?
I believe agriculture
That's awesome 👌
God bless u brother! Keep it up!
I always enjoyed your fs22 videos that you did. I myself play fs22 all the time. Just trying to figure out some stuff with multiplayer/role play. New to that. Would appreciate any information you could pass along or any help that you could offer, so I could play more multiplayer/role play on fs22.
Grant, we want to see more vids in general. We don't care what they are, we just want vids lol
my dad rent to own farmland from grandpa 50 bucks an acre for 12 years.2021 brother and sister sold 118 acres for 18300 per acre.
I would do it in hay it would be cool to watch
No one is talking about 20% interest rates and $2.90 corn and wheat...I had a guy tell me that farmland never goes backwards...my 80 yr old dad said...how do you think we got our farm?
Nice video, but anyone gonna talk about $4 corn next year? Are they trying to kill off the little man?
I’m a professional farm manager and I remember having cash corn sales at $2.88 just a few years ago. Looking at crop insurance prices in his looks like late 2012 going into 2013
Damn, I was about 5-6 then so I really don’t remember it.
Are farmland prices coming down with the 3 dollar corn prices for 2024?
Hay the 4-5 acres until you have the money to put in a shed and some bins
Yall are unlucky we live in south Mississippi and good farm ground is 3500 an acre and we can make 60 bushel beans and 1150 lbs of cotton
80 acres in northern MN just sold for $475,000 two local farmers had land on each corner it was a bidding war
Both would be a special kind of stupid
Right before COVID we bought our house for 283k
Now we’re selling it for 510k, and higher. Times are crazy.
Did the good people conducting the auction notch you with a 10% buyers premium?
