Saw Bowie live in the Sound and Vision tour. An unbelievable experience. I am so glad to have lived in a time where one could go and see Bowie in the flesh.
My favorite is Glastonbury 2000! I don’t know if it had a physical release, but all of the different takes on each of the songs is wonderful, and in my opinion most are better than the studio recordings (but if I’m honest the best versions of bowies music is almost always the live versions!)
That is also a very good live album! It was released on Vinyl, CD and Spotify just a couple of years ago and I love it aswel! Bowie had so many great live-shows!

I am so grateful to have witnessed David Bowie live a unique talent ,we shall never see his likes again!
That _Cracked Actor '74_ LP is absolutely astonishing. Retroactively, one of the best live albums of the 1970s & possibly the definitive document of the _Diamond Dogs_ period.
My Top 5 are: #5 - Live at Nassau Coliseum '76 (Isolar Tour) #4 Stage (Isolar II Tour;2017 mix) #3 - David Live (both original & 2005 mix) #2 - I'm Only Dancing (The Soul Tour) #1 - Cracked Actor Live Los Angeles '74 (Year Of The Diamond Dogs Tour) I will defend David Live till' my death.

Recently i listened to the 2005 mix, and now i can see why people back then & today didn't like the Album. I'm in my Soul- Phase right now, so i prefer Cracked Actor & I'm Only Dancing Over David Live, but i always return to David Live for these songs: • Big Brother • Panic In Detroit • Candidate • The Width Of A Circle P.I.D. & W.O.A.C. arent on Cracked Actor and Big Brother sounds more epic in David Live. Cracked Actor has (in my Opinion) better versions of: • Moonage Daydream • Cracked Actor • Rock 'N' Roll With Me • Time & The Jean Genie.
Yea. LIke your video! Today there are so many records available that were bootlegs in contemporary times. The one at Santa Monica Civic Center for exampel. Unfortunately and unbelievable in the 70s only mediocre livetakes were issued. Stage for exampel: The arrangement and the mix in which the audience is almost deletet totally missed a concert feeling. Thats so bad, even more so he did so good concerts... I don´t know if the now available "Ziggy Stardust the motion picture" his last Ziggy appearence contains the Jean Genie session witg Jeff Beck, this alone would be enough to by the record.
I disagree, David Live is very good. I think the Live In Santa Monica is better than the Ziggy Stardust soundtrack. I wasn’t able to track down a copy of Welcome To The Blackout. I haven’t heard much of Bowie’s 90’s material.

Just what Skeptic said, the Motion Picture Soundtrack is the live album. The Motion Picture is the concertfilm by DA Pennebaker, also a great concertfilm.
I agree with your overall assessment of these albums, but I would have a hard time not including A Reality Tour in the list. Not sure what I would kick out to make it fit though.
The only problem is the plastic soul live I'm only dancing the soul tour '74 album was terribly recorded. There are bootlegs that have sound then that official release.

The David Live LP was as you say, the first live Bowie album This was back in the 70's when MainMan were running things so some bad blood But it is one of the best LP's ever made! As you say, apparently i will take your word as i am no expert on 70's music, why would this effect the musicians? OK apart from money! I get that... They would have played to their natural state, not played to the album I am not having a pop at you at all, but what you are saying is David Live is a bootleg? I don't think Earl Slick would complain about his solo on Panic In Detroit but maybe he would? He is a pro! I remember a Bowie interview where he was asked about bootlegs ands he said "i lke to be paid for what i do" You may have a point ! But sorry, one of the best albums ever made, bootleg or other!

Isolar II is the best stage band he ever had. Best rhythm section, Adrian Belew on guitar and Roger Powell on synths.

The motion picture soundtrack is the live recording of the show. So that is the one to get.
