This will always be the best era for starship design. Especially the Enterprise.
Of all the Star Ship Enterprise designs I like NCC-1701A the most. NCC-1701E is my second favorite.
@@williampaz2092 Mine too
I like everything except the nacelles
I love that you got all of the dialogue between Kirk, McCoy, and Sulu, as well as Kirk and Preston.
A lovely video. Love the cut dialogue implying Sulu is getting the Excelsior after this training mission ends. Love that you incorporated Spacedock with the Excelsior, Reliant, and other ships docked.
Using the scene where Saavik takes her out was a fitting tribute to her.
I love the lost dialogue ...I've been dieing to know that scene....what was said etc
It also showed to both Saavik and Kirk how much faith and trust Spock had in her.
@@williampaz2092 That and come on! You must have noticed that ever slight grin when thinking about letting her take the ship out. He was trying to have a little fun at Kirk's expense.lol
Certainly you know that you erred? This footage comes at the beginning of ST:WOK, so the Enterprise is leaving spacedock, and will encounter Kahn, NOT the Klingons. Therefore, Reliant was already out scouting for planetary bodies to accommodate the Genesis project headed by Dr’s. Carol Marcus and son, David. Reliant WAS NOT in spacedock during this movie, and had been destroyed by the end of the film. Please make sure of the facts before giving statements such as this (and don’t tell me it’s just a FANPIC. The facts still matter)!
@@AngelofDeath1431 You misspelled Khan.
Hike you just keep getting better at this. What a lovely tribute to Kirstie ❤️❤️❤️
We can't get enough of these re-imagined scenes. I'm impressed by the lighting, the subtle reverse thruster bloom, incorporation of lost dialogue, and coordination with the music (though a cut at 5:45 would have been proper). Great stuff!
My gosh; I never thought I’d hear the legendary dialog of Sulu’s captaincy! Thank you. I’d heard that Shatner phoned in his delivery because he felt Takei didn’t need the focus on him. I wish it had been included in the final film.
Amazing how a seven minute video can give you so much joy. Thank you, Hike, it’s awesome as always!
I love everything about this era of Star Trek. The ships, the uniforms, the music, the stories... this was the peak. There has been a lot of good since then, but nothing matches this era.
Yeah, one film every 4 years. Great era lol
The screen chemistry between these actors was amazing. We cared about them and this world. Because they cared about each other.
Just wounded like to see another movie, TV but move BETTER
I sign it after you...!!!
@@allenjones3130 Galactica is a completely different animal. Federation starships are meant to be visually appealing and elegant. A Colonial Battlestar is a pure warship that is all about durability and practicality.
Love this scene!
Also just realized Saavik ordered impulse power (on her own initiative) in Spacedock despite it being against regulations -- then spends the rest of the movie badgering Kirk for breaking rules :P
more likely She meant 1/4 impulse using the reaction control thrusters rather than the saucer's main impulse engines. At least that's how I reason it .
Excellent! The reflections on the bottom aft engineering hull as Enterprise manoeuvred towards the spacedoors was completely convincing.
You could animate a whole new golden age for NCC-1701.
Really good. I've been watching Star Trek since 1966. This worked well.
Wow amazing work! Love the addition of the soon to be Captain Sulu & Preston dialogue! Well done sir!
This was absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait for Part 2!
Long ago I read that ILM had lit each starship differently with the Ent bathed in navy gray and Excelsior in azure blue. It really gives them a different feel to them.
This is amazing, and way better than the actual movie, especially with the missing dialogue. THANK YOU!
My favorite version of this sequence so far was from the Unity Project. Your version is just as good. Keep them coming!
I've never seen that conversation with Scotty's nephew, brings a whole new meaning to the scene with scotty holding his body, tragic. another great video, I applaud your work.
The conversation with Scotty's nephew is included in the director's cut.
@@casey3c it was also in the novelization.
Love the look from McCoy at 4:48!
I am so glad you found and incorporated the unused dialog that Shatner tried to deliberately blow. That combined with CGI that generates the environment which by all rights we should have been shown in the theaters really makes this sooooo much better.
Amazing work as always! Love your attention to the smallest things that call for attention to detail
Fantastic, as always!! 🔥 Can’t wait for part 2!
Thank you for changing it from the space truss to the Earth Space Dock One. Now I can reserve the Goldsmith score for the truss and the Horner charge for the ESD1 in my head. I know having edited what I just said, it looks insane, but true fans get it.
Magnificent. Beautiful. And a gift to watch!!! Thank you,
The animation is brilliant, it took me right back over the years, to my delight.
Thank you.
Mr. Sulu, you may....indulge yourself.
Yes, sir! Setting course for Risa!
PERFECT! PERFECT! PERFECT! BRAVO! BRAVO!
I am at a loss for how you do it, bit this is pure magic. THIS is Star Trek.
Boy you sure nailed it you should be making movies!!!
Shame on her... only thrusters while in Space dock. 🤣 very well done! Love the addition of the cut scenes and that you moved it from the refit dock into the actual Space dock.
Continue The Outstanding Work As Always!!!! Take Care & Stay Safe.
Wow. Full of surprises.
Finest ship in the fleet. Ever
This is really really great work. Well done and loved the added lines. I've seen twok so many times it really stands out anything new. Can't wait to see more.
Excellent! It's exciting to see CGI and film making of such quality. I know There will be many more new adventures with our old friends to come.
1 hours ago and i love star trek
Love it. great work. Thank you for including the moon in the scene as well.
MAGNIFICENT
Very impressive! I wish this sequence was in the film.
I like how the cadet beside Preston opened his eyes wide and cleared his throat to remind him to stand back to attention properly.
For the record the deleted audio of sulu's promotion comes from the UCLA workprint, which a friend of mine recorded along with about 18 other deleted scenes when he viewed the work print at UCLA. Most of the deleted bits were extensions of existing scenes, couple of all new scenes and an alternate version of the Kirk and David fight
You've outdone yourself sir. Looking forward to part 2🙂
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely done indeed 👌.
As always, excellent work! I can't wait to see Part 2.
The most iconic era of Star Trek for sure! The ship designs, the military aspect as well as exploration. Heck, even the original look and sound of the photon torpedoes was a lot better then. Why did producers deviate from what was successful, what actually was working and popular with the fanbase? And.. R.I.P. Kristie Alley (Lt. Saavik).
Spock could say " FASCINATING... "
Good Job friend :)
This is my favorite video of all time 👍😁
5:50 - Was asking myself, are we going to get it? Going to get the Enterprise money shot? Oh yeah! Damn, she's a fine wessel.
5:21 Except in some video games, I have never gotten to see the four bottom of the ship "belly" phasers get fired. Would have loved to see that in a movie!
The moon was a nice touch.
Very NICELY DONE!
I wish they would make more of this era movies and series shows. I liked seeing uss reliant ncc-1864 in space dock
Excellent...look forward to the rest of it. Great job with the animation.
The shot of the Big E at 5:09 sent my skin tingling! Not just a beautiful rendering, but the angle on the ship is reminiscent of the classic angles of the Original Star Trek, so it set off all sorts of happy nostalgia vibes! The only thing I'd have changed would be to have a dead-on front shot of the Enterprise when Horner's theme bursts forth as she emerges from the Spacedock, but that's just nitpicking. A splendid job, and I can't wait to see what's next! 👏👏👏👏👏
Great video and the added ships, tribute to Kristie, and Spock having a bit of fun on Kirk not letting him take her out of Space dock.
Your craft is amazing. Always beautiful to watch and enjoy. Happy New Year to us!
My God, this is pure perfection. Bravo.
You all have really outdone yourselves on this. We’ll done and thank you. Looking forward to part 2!
This was great to see!
I look forward to seeing other episodes, and I just subscribed to your channel!!!
Beautiful work! I especially love how you recreated the Enterprise scene at about 6 min into your video. One of my all time favorite scenes of the refit model ❤️
Fantastic!! Perfect!! May I just complain about one small thing? The deflector light isn't supposed to be orange while in thrusters and then blue only when engaging Warp Speed...?
That was absolutely beautifully done! Excellent work!
BRAVO!
This was awesome! FAR superior to the original. I loved the footage you used for the crew in the shuttle and the engine room. Things would have made far more sense if the original has used that footage.!! Anyway, GREAT job, look forward to more!
The Enterprise Refit is the best looking ship in all of starfleet history
Just wounded when they going to put out FULL MOVE A GAIN
You have the missing line between sulus command on the excelsior in that. That was great barvo;)
Bravo!
Aww.. I thought they were going to gloriously Warp TF out of there. 😔
This is utterly brilliant. Now I've seen the movies plenty of times.... But there are bits, either that are out of directors cuts or.... Well I've never seen before. Your animations are superb. Incredible to be honest. This work is better than the movies I've seen. Incredible work! Absolutely outstanding! ❤️👍
Really nice job! Well done!
When impulse power is engaged the impulse engines light up even in spacedock where it is against regulations
One minor "dig," more at the original writers than anyone else but for Saavik to "pilot" the ship out of dock she would have to sit at the helm. It would have been more correct for Spock to ask her if she had ever "conned" a starship, after she replies "no" then he should have ordered her to "Take the conn Mr. Saavik" as he stood from the Captain's chair.
This would be more in line with how officers would take the conn during the original series.
Beautiful!
Wunderschön
Where did you find the additional Sulu dialog about the Excelsior?
Great little video. However there is one incongruity the opening scenes show a shuttlecraft approaching the spacedock once inside it becomes a travel pod
Now i wanna watch this
Finalmente la vida JEOSUS la tierra
Reliant is back??? But with the refit Enterprise, this would have to have been I guess before ST2.
Oh this is just what I needed
You are really spoiling us with these wonderful and updated scenes! Absolutely fantastic! 😁🫡
I really hope you can produce the Warp Drive effect from TMP in this story. Looking fantastic so far!
I much rather prefer the TWOK effect instead. It's an improvement of the TMP Warp effect and as much fantastic - if not better...!!
@@buzzinpoa I guess we will wait and see what Hike Animation comes up with. A variation of the first two movies would be interesting. I didnt care for the warp effects after TWOK.
@ursusthewhite9824 I totally agree with you. What came after TWOK is unimportant.
What a shame Starfleet doesn't have an Enterprise in the 32nd century. We may see the 32nd Century Enterprise in Season 5 of Star Trek Discovery. I really hope so!
Ooooo, I had no idea that dialogue existed regarding Sulu taking command of Excelsior? So it was actually filmed but on a cutting room floor somewhere? I also enjoy recreations suggesting that Spacedock retroactively existed all along. We know it was never thought of when TWK was filmed. This blends things rather nicely.
The added audio dialogue was taken from the work print in UCLA where a friend of mine recorded about 18 deleted scenes and posted them on the Internet
Pretty good. I liked the use of Sulu’s cut dialogue. But the first time we see the completed Excelsior is Star Trek III. I would like to have seen an incomplete Excelsior in final stages of construction, maybe even with covers to obscure the ship and only show part of it.
I saw another very closely animated version of the same scene so it would really distinguish showing an incomplete Excelsior- no one has done it yet.
Kirk's biggest mistake of his entire career was accepting promotion to admiral. His talents are completely wasted in Starfleet Command. Kirk's destiny is to command the Enterprise in the 23rd century.
🖖
Excellent 🖖🏾
Wow!!
This was nice.
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
Missed a major music cue at 5:32 - should show full front view of the E - actually at this point in STII a full back view is shown.
love it, but just can't compete (yet) with the models
I love it - However, the strobes should not be on inside the spacedock. They should only come on when they are about to pass the spacedoors.....gawd I am a Geek. keep up the good work!
I know! How about Ceti Alpha V? I hear the weather is nice this time of year.
Not bad. Just a couple of shots where the shots of Enterprise jumped too quickly at the beginning. Best to pan and slide as you later did inside spacedock. You might also want to get rid of the exterior light flickerings outside of spacedock and use only two or three at most with slow strobes.
4:56 Everybody in this scene is dead except William Shatner, who's still, thankfully, ,going boldly. Time is the impassible frontier, age the non-negotiable opponent no manoeuvre can evade.
Would you please enable UA-cam's automatic Closed Captions on your video? Thanks! MMMMMMWUH!
This is from Star Trek the motion picture there were no Klingons in this movie just the prob v...ger (voyager).
subscribed! 👊🖖
When's part 2 coming? Excited to see the next chapter
