    Thank you for sharing. I am hospice nurse working privately for a dying cancer patient. Apparently , he found out that I can cook and he has been requesting all kinds of menu that he could think of . So now , I’ve also become his chef. Lol.. He doesn’t have a lot of time and I’m happy to see him glee with joy eating what I’ve prepared for him. 🙂

    I tried the cling film thing once so I could flavour my poached eggs with fresh jalapeños, and the eggs were perfectly cooked but they broke when I took the cling film off. Maybe I didn't put enough oil on but I would recommend poaching them straight in water anyway, it isn't too hard with practice ☺

    I tend to use Julia Child’s blender hollandaise. Works really well for me and it never splits. While my eggs are cooking I make the hollandaise. It’s done by the time the eggs are done. I make what I call “New Jersey” Eggs Benedict - I also just make an egg Up instead of poaching. Poaching is a pain in the butt. My family doesn’t know the difference. What makes it a New Jersey version is the pork roll instead of Canadian Ham. I brown it and its a regional specialty. We are known for Taylor Ham or Pork Roll. It is like bologna, only better. I make Eggs Benedict for Valentines Day every year, sometimes for Mothers Day (I would rather cook for myself as my family just makes a huge mess in my kitchen and I have to clean it up.)

    • @satchboogie2058
      @satchboogie2058 7 років тому +3

      Well, I'm not a chef, but when I cook I use very little oil for everything. And it's usually regular oil, not olive. Although there is nothing I could complain about this video, but maybe other people are complaining about that?

    • @airtempo
      @airtempo 7 років тому +66

      Fedor Voronov yes sir, I'm a trained chef and I can tell you he uses olive oil way too much. It is a common thing that chefs obsess with some ingredient and add it to every single thing they can as much as possible even though it doesn't certainly adds any more flavor by adding it over and over again. In this case Jamie does have an obsession with olive oil, adding it to every single thing over and over again even when it doesn't need it. I can tell you as a chef that untoasted English muffins with just drizzled olive oil isn't going to improve the flavour of this recipe every topping for this muffin has it and it does add flavour, but over using it like he does in this case for the dry muffins doesnt do any tricks here to improve the taste of it. That's my opinion, since u asked if I cook.

      doctornige1 yes but that is the egg outside the plastc bag. In the video jamie used 2 eggs in a plastic bag... Do you think it would also take 2-3min? Thanks anyway though

      Soft eggs with a leaky yolk 1.5 minute, medium poached eggs 2.5 min and hard poached eggs 4 minute, this is for poached eggs, what he did in this video is not true eggs benedict because they werent poached...see a video on how to poach eggs .
