Yes use the Sidestep dribble to evade the slide tackle. Also, use the quick turn move.

Each to their own but the 'oldies' remember that KONAMI had it in ISS long before FIFA. Each year it always turns into a PES vs FIFA debate. I just like to embrace each game for what it is.

No, if you bought a retail copy, you get a special registration code, which you use to log on online. Also make sure you have got your Konami ID, then it is free to play online.
It is all about timing, you need to time it so if a defender tries to make a challenge, dive then. I have managed to get fouls better that way. If you blatantly dive (like shown in my video), you will get a yellow card normally. Hope this helps.

Some like PES, some like FIFA. I personally prefer PES also but FIFA is good in some aspects like commentary and chants.
I was talking about default, as in when the game in shipped. Obviously after patching my PES is much better FIFA in all aspects ;)

The one I show at the start of the video is the Logitech Dual Analog gamepad and this is the one I use and it is great! There is also a XBOX 360 controller for the PC. It all depends on what you prefer. Try a few before you buy one in the shops to see which feels comfortable.
Press Left Button + Left Trigger + Right Button altogether.

you got any tips to avoid getting tackled from those AI slide tackles?
Those slide tackles really tick me off, the AI always tackles so clean and easy lol.. any tips how to evade and make em foul or something?

press Q+E+Z in one time for a dive
roulette = down+left+up or up+left+down
akka= if you are running to the right: down+up
As I explain in the video you have to hold sprint and be behind the attacker to pull his shirt.

sidestep dribble u mean hold RT and dribble? (aka slow dribble), or you mean LB + RB where the player dribbles sideways.
Also, you need to explain the lift lol. Blind side as in if the player is running right, then i tap left? Then i quickly tap right to get the lift?
I tried it with Ronaldo but he just does a cruyff turn and goes the other way...

Fifa 09 kills PES only good thing is you can take dives and the tap out
I have this game for my PS2, and I'm having problem with 2 techniques.
1_Dive: I press the 3 buttons at the same time, but the player just keep doing the "Tap out" or just run.
2_Sideways dribble: Almost the same as above, just keep doing the "Tap out" or just don't do anything. I release the D-pad, and still do the same thing...
Can anybody help me? or just, tell me if it's possible on the ps2.

the 1-2 pass isnt really because some times its wrong
i think you need a Pad, because with keyboard i cant, but i buy a Pad and know ii can...its:
L1 + R1+ R2
LB + RB + RT
In your opinion. Each has it's pluses but for me PES has always been the complete game. FIFA is far too easy to score in plus the players look like zombies and the football 'floats' in many shots. PES also has it's faults but it still gives satisfaction when I score a goal. In FIFA, it is just another goal.
To bad... Also the Shirt Pull isn't in the PS2 version right? Because I also tried that, and... nothing happened.
