I think we should move to Linux touch ,and leave behind android because android is linux but is meesy in term of efficiency.
The main problem is with Android application running in Linux.
Anbox is offering very near to native running more thsn just emulation.
But even with sone rummors google is also planning to move on Linux and leaving android in future due to Case by Oracle on using java libraries.

AOSP is not Google's its and Open source software which Google uses as base too AOSP is always open source, google only has google services Android is basically not Google any phone can use AOSP
