I've never associated cotton candy with Easter. It's more of a baseball game or fair/carnival treat. Our fairs/carnivals are mostly in the summer.
I was just thinking... I dont think I’ve ever had cotton candy at Easter time. I get it at theme parks.
Anna Milam same here. The local churches always do fairs all through summer
I feel like it's getting to be more of a holiday thing. It'll be orange at Halloween, red/green at Christmas, pastel in Easter. I'm pretty sure I've even seen it green for St. Patrick's Day - it's a very easy "candy" to color and slap a holiday design on a tub.
Peeps started out as an Easter only candy, at least from what I can remember growing up. When I graduated in the 90s is when they started making them for all holidays.
That’s amazing they’re now all year round and as big as they are now!!
Yeah it was the same for me
I still can only eat them at Easter. I feel like it ruins the specialness of Cadbury Eggs and Peeps that you can get them year round.
Jelly beans are big at Easter because they look like little eggs.
Ahh yes of course. Didn’t think of that
I used to always get jelly beans in my Easter eggs when I was little.
This With Them cotton candy is pretty big on Easter as well and sometimes Christmas and we call it cotton candy in america
@@kayleenaward2550 same
This is adorable to,watch you eat “normal” easter candy. Jelly beans are definitely popular during Easter because they are like little eggs. Our main brand is Jelly Belly and you can find those jelly beans year round, but the starburst and jolly rancher and so many other brands that make other types candy have started making jelly beans just for Easter time. That’s really the only time you can find that type of jelly bean.
Same in Britain
More Easter Candy! Yes please. Yummy! Robin Eggs are so good.
Yaay! I love Easter candy so much 😆
The chirping chicks are a classic. I have fond memories of getting them when I was little.
Yes, jelly beans are an Easter staple in the US. There’s even an old claymation cartoon in which the Easter Bunny invents jelly beans.
Cotton candy is actually not generally associated with Easter. Peeps are trying too have more choices. I still love the classic peeps.
They’re so sweet. Love that they’re a classic and bring back memories for you. Oh wow. Didn’t know that. That is so awesome.
Suppose they are just trying to get more customers around Easter time! Love that peeps are trying to have more choices
@@ThisWithThem cotton candy is most often sold at carnivals and fairs
Jacklyn Wyatt I live in America and I have no idea what the chirping chips are
Aly Gleason Maybe they’re a regional thing.
Jacklyn Wyatt what?
In the U.S. peeps are really only an Easter thing even though you can get them sometimes for other holidays
Here in Canada the majority of the eggs we can buy at the store are white but I think you can get brown ones as well but white is most popular. We have our own laying hens and 2 of them lay brown eggs, 1 lays white eggs and 1 lays light blue color eggs.
How funny! I wonder if Europe is more like us then 🤔 ah love that! Light blue eggs so cool!
The "breed" of our hens is actually Easter Eggers, which is actually a mixed breed of chicken but they get that name because the breed can lay all different color eggs from white to light blue, light green, pale yellow and light pink.
Yup! We have lots of unique jellybeans you can only find during Easter! (As someone has already stated, they look like little eggs) but it’s funny because I don’t find jellybeans to be a super popular candy among us Americans but they are EVERYWHERE during Easter.
Thanks for the video! Best wishes ! 💖🐣
Yeah that’s so funny they are an Easter then!
Thank you for watching shelly 💕
Thank you for this video, I'm stuck in the UK and so homesick, so seeing all this American Easter candy really made my day. Thank you for putting a smile on my face! 😊❤
So happy to hear we could put a smile on your face. Sending lots of love! You’ll be home before you know it and it will be the best feeling ever ♥️
I wish a wonderful Easter for everyone... and the world will be filled with delicious Easter Candy.
elvis star 🌤 You are a ray of sunshine ! Blessings to you and your family for Easter . I am in California. Oh , I am all about the candy ! 🥕 🐇 🌼
Thank you so much Mary… And have a happy Easter 🌷
I wish that too ☺️
♥️
Egg dying kits here in the US are around $2, and there are all kinds (glitter, speckled, stickers, etc). Some come with plastic, like the thing Kate picked up thinking was a bag, and it's actually shrink wrap that you heat up. It conforms to the egg's shape (not sure if the kit you received had that though). The whopper eggs are my favorite, but nobody else in my family likes them🤷♀️. We love the starburst jelly beans because they have so much flavor & a different consistency than a jelly belly jellybean. Plus, it's fun to get excited for something that comes out only once a year.
That is so awesome. I would love a glitter one ✨ 😍 that is so cool. I wouldn’t have known that was shrink wrap. Thank goodness for you guys for letting me know ☺️ yeah the flavours of those starburst jelly beans are so amazing aren’t they😍 yeah it makes it more special doesn’t it
When I was a Child My Mom would make a white cake with white frosting. then she would color shredded coconut with green food dye and put it on top of the cake to make a "nest". in the nest she would put jelly beans and robin egg candy to look like eggs in a bird nest. my favorite Easter treat memory
Oh wow. That’s so lovely. What lovely memories 🐣
The Hershey Company acquired the Cadbury license, in the US, in 1988. If any Cadbury labeled product from the US looks or tastes different to what you guys have in England, it's because Hershey's is putting their own spin on Cadbury products (if I remember right, Hershey's makes their own interpretations of Cadbury recipes and they also may not use the same packaging).
Thank you Amy 😀
Jelly beans and Peeps are tradionally Easter in the States.
and chocolate eggs/bunnies
They’re making a lot of brands of candies into jelly beans so you are right about the jelly beans. I recently got Trolli jelly beans this year from the company that makes Trolli gummy worms
Oh wow! Never seen those before
egg coloring kits here in the U.S. are $2 and under usually. Also Alex is correct, the color of the egg depends on the breed of chicken.
Thank you Kristy!
Peeps (were originally only made at Easter), jellybeans and chocolate bunnies are 100% traditional American Easter candy. Then chocolate eggs. Then every candy brand started making holiday shapes for Easter, Christmas, Halloween etc.
Thank you all for continuing to upload, it's really helpful having something to keep things feeling somewhat normal and distracting
So pleased to hear you’re enjoying our videos. We want to try keep it normal as possible for you guys ☺️
I'm so glad that you'll get to continue making these videos! I so enjoy them.
Yaay thank you Tara. Enjoy watching 🥰
I never liked jelly beans, however they are popular at Easter. I love the mini Cadbury chocolate eggs and the large 1 with what looks like a yolk. How nice you got some boxes before they shut everything down. You both are so delightful to watch during this difficult time. My escape for awhile. Sending love 💕 and best wishes and health. 👍😊🤗🐣🐣
No way! I love some of these jelly beans you can get in the US. The Cadbury Easter chocolate is some of my faves!! So pleased we can be an escape for you! Sending lots of love to you too 💕 stay safe and healthy
This With Them - I quit liking jelly beans along time ago. It happened on Easter 🐣 when I ate some and I was little and they tore out my baby tooth lol 😂 and it hurt and bled and I couldn’t eat the rest of my Easter candy for days 😝💕
I loved decorating eggs as a kid for Easter but I never thought about that other people wouldn’t have 🤷🏼♀️ hope you guys have fun with that! 😂
Yeah! So funny when you hear about other countries and their traditions.
Same! My brother in law told me he never dyed eggs and I was like what?! That was my favorite part about Easter!!
Hey guys!! Happy Easter!! Enjoy the candy!!
Hey Susan! Happy Easter to you too! Hope you can enjoy some Easter candies too 🥰🐣
Creme eggs here in US are produced by Cadbury in the UK, but sold by Hershey in US.
I’m from America and jelly beans are associated to Easter
In Australia we call it Fairy floss, so different again! My favourite Easter treats at the moment are the Malteaser bunnies, they’re so good. :)
Such a cute name for it 🧚🏼♀️ yeah they’re so delicious 😋
In Australia we call “cotton candy”: “fairy floss”
We called it fairy floss in the early 1900s lol. No idea why the name changed
I love fairy floss that such a cute way of saying cotton candy.
I see cotton candy more around summer time, when fairs and circuses are running
Yes that’s very true
Yes, we mostly have jelly beans around Easter. Do you have them at other times, or not really at all? We really don't have them much the rest of the year.
Love that! Yes we do get them but don’t have many brands offering them and we definitely don’t get all of those flavours!
The Robin eggs are one of my faves. I always go for those or peeps during Easter
I only associate jelly beans with Easter, sort of like candy corn at Halloween. That Pass egg kit took me back to my childhood dyeing Easter eggs with my grandmother. Great memories. Have a good week.
That’s so cool! That’s so not a thing here in the UK! We need more jelly beans. Ah love that it bought back memories for you ☺️ have a good week too Brandon 😀
Cotton candy is a big seller at fairs, carnivals and school picnics that typically occur from Spring through the Fall. I prefer Reece's cups to the Reece's pieces and I love stale Peeps. My favorite though is mini jelly beans, hands down.
EMS Paramedic yes! Stale peeps have been my craving this pregnancy and I’m just waiting to get my hands on some!
Stale peeps are so good aren't they!! 😍 Oh wow! Not sure i've tried mini jelly beans.. YUM
Love Easter candy! Can't wait until we're able to enjoy Easter with family and friends again!
Me too!! Wishing you a lovely Easter with your friends and family when you can ☺️
Enjoyed watching this! I have a chirping chick here. Jelly beans are big at Easter. Cotton candy you can usually get at fairs here in America though, it is not really that big at Easter time. That is a raccoon not a penguin. We don't usually have carnivals here in Ohio at Easter time, we usually have carnivals and fairs in the Summer time, before school begins in the Fall.
Thank you Amy 😀 theyre so cute. Going to keep our forever 🐣 we would love to visit a US carnival!!
This With Them You are welcome. We have been to several different fairs and carnivals when I was little. Some of the fairs are in the Fall (September and October) and some schools do carnivals but we have parades for about every holiday though.
Jelly beans, peeps, and chocolate are typical Easter treats here in the States. Peeps change shapes, colors, and flavors according to holiday/season and they are only sold during those times of year. Around Halloween you can find Pumpkin pie and Apple pie flavors and Eggnog flavor around Christmas. Cotton candy is a summer treat typically.
In the US carnival and fairs come around between the end of April and last up until October in some states here in Fresno CA we have a huge fair around the end of September to the first week of October and cotton candy is very big that time of year!!!!
Oh wow. Didn’t realise they lasted that long! Would love to go to a proper US carnival and fair!!
@@ThisWithThem oh yes we even have festivals in the fall with lots of yummy foods and all kinds of different crafts and fun things to do
Absolutely love you guys xxxx I have been supporting you two since day 1 xxxxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You’re amazing. Thank you for sticking around 😀 we love you too ♥️♥️xxx♥️♥️
This is the serotonin I needed today thank you
Yaaay 😀
Thank you guys for for taking out the time for doing this for us . We love you guys and hope you're save out in Great Britain
Ah thank you Jay! So glad you're enjoying these videos. Hope you're safe too
Love your videos during our lock down how are you both hope everyone is well xxx
Thank you so much Kirsty. We are doing well thank you. Hope you are too! Xxx
We're doing good thanks how are you doing during lockdown? - Alex
@@ThisWithThem hiya Alex and Katie were doing well thanks stay safe both xx
Jelly Beans AND peeps are more easily found during Easter time where I am. Other times of the year they are harder to find. I however dont like either, and say the best way to eat them is to throw them in the trash. 🤣🤣🤣
Ah no way! Hahaha 😂😂😂
Tami Null 🐣 I totally agree ! Gimme milk chocolate ! Especially Russell Stover coconut milk chocolate almond eggs. I am eating so many ! My husband is now hooked though so I gotta share . 🌷
Peeps, Jelly Beans, and Candy corn are 3 candies I will never be seen eating. They are so gross.
So happy to watch this video because this is the closest thing to an easter celebration I am going to have. Thank you 💕
We hear ya! We were looking forward to seeing a lot of our family and friends at Easter dinner, but guess we're gonna have to wait a little longer!
Ah yay I’m glad this could make you happy! I hope you’re still able to enjoy Easter 💕
The Trips 🥕🐇 Easter in June ? 🐣
I have Swedish Fish Jelly Beans. So good.
Oh my word wow. So jealous 😍bet they’re amazing
Yes jellybeans are easter in Canada too maybe cause they r egg shaped i dont know but i love the sweet tarts anything:))
That’s so funny that we just don’t associate jelly beans with Easter. Yes that’s so true. Now I can see that 🥚
Robins eggs......Oh yes please!
☺️☺️
In Australia we call it Fairy Floss. That’s a pretty good box. You always make me jealous when you open these boxes!
Such a cute name! This box was so good! Sorry to make you jealous
In South Africa we also call candy floss, candy floss if you say it in English, but for interests sake in Afrikaans its called Spook Asem; which translates to Ghost Breath. 😜
Haha no way! That’s so cool 😆
Cadbury creme eggs are my FAVORITE Easter treat! Y’all need to try the caramel eggs from Cadbury those are AMAZING!!!!!!!
They’re so delicious!! Yes!! We have those here in the UK. They are insane and my fave 😍😍
We get caramel eggs here in the UK and they are my absolute Easter favourite 😍 - Alex
Cadbury creme eggs are my fave too. One of the few easter candies I actually buy.
Cotton candy,is sold at carnivals on a long paper cone, and they spin it in to a big bunch if candy floss.
First time here ...such fun watching you discover our treats here in America. ...seeing you unwrap the Paas..my mom and i always dyed eggs for easter .my mom is gone but you guys tugged at my heart strings ..and brought back awesome memories with mom and Paas. oh and u have a fan!
I got the shivers just watching you eat the cotton candy!
Hi Kate and Alex, thank you for your videos I love to watch them. Reese's Pieces are my favorite. Did you know the story of Resse's Pieces? The makers of the movie E.T. went to M&Ms to ask if they could use them in the movie, they said no, so they used Resse's Pieces and their sales skyrocketed. A little candy trivia for you.
Thank you so much Tammy. So pleased you love them! Oh my word no I didn’t. That’s so awesome. Thank you 😀 poor M&M. They should have let them!
I love putting Cadbury eggs in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds. They're amazing warm ❤❤❤
OH WOW!!! I need to try this
Palmer is a relatively cheap brand of chocolate, you can find them in a lot of dollar trees and discount candy aisles. However ! When it comes to their ‘speciality’ flavors (like cookies and cream, they have a birthday cake unicorn out for Easter at Walgreens, etc) their flavors actually aren’t half bad. They manage to mostly mask that cheapo chocolate flavor.
Cotton candy, at least up here in Maine, is one of those things they’ve (mostly) just really started pushing for all holidays. They rotate the packaging basically. And jelly beans (except jelly belly) are definitely associated with Easter. You can purchase them anytime during the year but that’s when all the candy brands suddenly have jelly beans lining the shelves :)
I could watch you guys all day! I'm isolating here in Australia aswell and I am so grateful for your channel to keep me entertained😍
So happu=y to hear you are enjoying our videos! Thank you Danielle. Hope you are doing well
Chocolate, marshmallow, jelly beans, I’m being tortured! They look so yummy! Thanks guys for sharing treats!
Haha sorry hazel! 😆
The item in the PAAS box you referred to as a little bag, actually separates into different bands that go around the egg. You put them on the egg and then dip the egg in hot water and it shrink wraps around. They are very cute ;)
So adorable watching you both with the Easter egg dye kit- so many memories of my youth and then again with my daughter when she was little. I hope you dye some eggs and have a blast! Happy Easter....
Jelly beans are a American treat for Easter.
Peeps originally were only available at Easter. My mom loved spiced jelly beans.
Ahh I feel like I once knew this but totally forgot! Thank you Ramona ☺️ oh wow! How interesting
There’s cotton candy in containers like that all year round! Not sure about that brand but you can find packaged cotton candy lots of places 🍭
The cotton candy peeps are my favorite flavor they make!
And Kate, I also am not a huge fan of PB but I love peanut butter M&M’s and the little Reese’s
Yeah there is something so good about them even though they are peanut butter! Glad you understand too 😂
Love the tulips they are very pretty !!
Maltezer ( don’t know if that is spelled correctly) bunnies are my craving this year, they are so yummy, but hard to find🥺. Especially because I can’t go out, my daughter is our assigned shopper and she is still working so we’re hunkered down in the countryside by the ocean. We’re lucky because we have room to get out and roam around a little. Be careful, stay safe. I thought it was wonderful when people went outside and clapped and cheered for your NHS.🥰
They’re so delicious aren’t they! I’m glad your daughter can go shopping for you! It was so wonderful. It got me so emotional 😭 stay safe too
THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THE CONTENT WE NEED DURING THIS TIME!!!
Ahh I’m so pleased you’re enjoying it!! Thank you Sarah!!
@@ThisWithThem You're welcome!! Thank YOU! xo
That brand of cotton candy makes many seasonal varieties but is available year round. My kids love this brand. At Halloween I saw a candy corn version.
Oh awesome. Thanks Traci! Love that!
Jelly beans are mainly Easter items. You can get some like Jelly Belly's all the time but some you can only get at Easter. It's different now, but Peeps used to only be an Easter candy (at least where I live). Now you can get them just about any time.
Yes we get tons of different jelly beans around Easter! Jolly rancher, sweet tart, Cadbury mini chocolate eggs my favorite! Cotton candy is the best at amusement park made fresh on a paper stick fluffy and big!
semi sweet chocolate covered coconut Easter eggs are my all time favorite. My Mom made them every year for us as children.
Oh wow. That’s so lovely she did that. Bet being homemade they were amazing 😍😍
Loved when Kate said, “wow, you can really dance!” 😂😂😂😂
Haha 😂
We hard boil eggs or blow eggs before dying them. Blowing eggs is when you pin prick the top and bottom of the raw egg and blow out the white/yolk them rinse with a bit of water. You would do that if you want to keep your eggs and/or keep them out of the refrigerator
Peeps are only for Easter here in America... cotton candy is for Easter too, but usually it's for fairs and carnivals. Carnivals come to different areas randomly.
Canadian here....jelly beans are liked during Easter here too. Loved how you commented on the excess packaging! This craziness has got to stop! and that little raccoon....so, so cute🦝
Hey!! Love that! I wonder why we don't get them in the UK for Easter. Yes far too much packaging. Such a waste.
New subscriber!! Found your channel when looking for "best American candy". You guys are so funny and cute!
Jelly Beans are now made by some many companies in USA. My favorite is Russell Stover Pectin ones. The only commercial candy company making them I believe!
They sound amazing, hopefully we can try them at some point 😁 - Alex
Oh wow. We haven’t tried those. Bet they’re delicious 😋
Never knew about this, thanks for sharing
Whoppers malted eggs are my favorite Easter treat! I love the thin candy coating and all the colors!
Yeah I mush prefered them with that candy coating 😋
Peeps originally were an Easter candy back in the day (not sure of the year lol) now you can find them around every holiday. In many different flavors, shapes, and color. Yes Jelly beans are an Easter candy. The Paas kit, is yes dying Easter eggs. Here the brown eggs are from chickens who are cage free. The white obviously are not from cage free chickens. But they taste exactly the same. But the point of the egg decorating is to decorate them and hide them and kids take their Easter baskets and find them. It's cute lol
i always crack my creme eggs open first also. one year, I cracked one open and it had gone completely moldy inside so now I must open it first. I still love them anyway
Oh wow!! Now i feel like I always need to crack them open and check haha
What a delicious haul! Love how festive American treats are for each holiday. We call cotton candy/candy floss: fairy floss in Australia!
It was so tasty 😋 me too!! So awesome. That’s such a cute name 🧚🏼♀️
I have no idea how I got this video recommendation, but i was hooked 2 minutes in. What a really sweet couple!!! I truly enjoyed the video and will look for more!
Alex, your hat is the right way round! I think it looks best this way.
Soooo many jelly beans at Easter. I and my youngest son love licorice jelly beans
I think cotton candy is associated with easter because in charlotte NC I only see the cotton candy peeps during easter
You also see jelly beans a lot more around Easter time in Canada too :)
Brown eggs dye really nicely, still try it!
We will give it a go thanks Melissa 😀
Those little clear plastic things are shrink wraps for your eggs. ... put it around an egg and dunk it in hot water and you have a decorated egg! Super cute!!
Yes, jellybeans are a big deal around Easter here in the U.S., we always have so many brands and flavors. My favorites are SweetTarts jellybeans, and Starburst jellybeans!
I love those ones too!! So delicious 😋
Cotton candy in America is sold all year and everywhere.
Thank you Jane!
Creamy Cadbary eggs are super sweet,Oreo never seen those yet here in US
I feel like they try and sell cotton candy around every candy holiday. But I feel like I rarely see people actually buy it. 🤷🏻♀️ For me it’s more of a fair or carnival/circus type treat.
No way! At least they try hehe. Yeah definitely
Jelly beans are found year round in most of Canada. It's just that during Easter they have pastel colored ones with various flavors.
Thank you Mary!
I completely agree with Alex about Oreos. I want the classic Oreo cookie. I don't want it crushed up and put into something else. It doesn't really work flavor wise. It the oreo experience texture and flavor that is best!
Yes definitely!
Sweet tarts jellybeans are my absolute favorite. I look forward to them all year.
So yummy 😋
I love the Palmers cookies and cream eggs. I wonder if they used the cotton candy as the bunny's cotton tail.
Oh my word. Such a cute idea
Your pantry must be amazing 😂❤️ps I love your videos I went through a rough time and they really helped me, you just make me laugh and smile thank you 🙏🏻❤️❣️xx
Hannah Foulis wills 🐣 Hoppy Easter !! Blessings from California. 🌼🐇
We are very lucky to have these awesome boxes! Sorry to hear you went through a rough time. I hope you’re doing okay now 💕 so pleased our videos can help make you laugh and smile ♥️ xx
We can get jelly beans all year round but they are more popular at Easter! And peeps started as just easter now they're available at all holidays! Love the video ❤❤
love this
Yaaay thank you Joshua
I'm in South Africa and we dont really have Easter sweets , mainly Easter chocolates and all the chocolates pretty much taste the same it's just the shape that changes. Marshmellow eggs are very popular at Easter here and speckled eggs which are kind of sweets because they are jelly sweets coated with chocolates(I highly reccomend that you try them if you havent already)The best brand of the speckled eggs is mister sweet
My son is eating those pin balls you sent us while watching your videos.
Ah no way!! Yay. Hope he’s enjoying them ☺️
This With Them they should did. He likes your videos. I let him watch them with me
Love Sweettarts jelly beans. Addicting!
So delicious 😋
