"Are they made from real girl scouts?" Addams Family Values
My daughters love that movie 😂 #Troop583 Citrus Council
such a classic line!
Throw those Thin Mints in the freezer! My favorite treat all year are frozen thin mints!
After you freeze them you can put them in a plastic bag and crunch them up with a rubber mallet then sprinkle it over ice cream... the best of both worlds!
JessicaY1225 I buy the Keebler ones !When the Girl Scouts aren't selling theirs . They also have a caramel, coconut one that is like a Samoa !🛒🐯
I live here in the US and never knew there were two different bakeries. My mind is blown right now 🤯 Samoa’s and Thin mints all the way...
I didn't either until we moved from Kansas to Georgia. In Georgia, my daughter joined girl scouts and come her first cookie season all the cookies were named different than what I knew from just buying them from the local troop.
No way! Well I’m glad we could teach you something new today 😀😀
InTheKitchenWithKate haha yeah thank you for that 😂 also thank you for always making such fun videos, I always look forward to watching when I get the notification. ❤️
Amanda Frye so are you still team original or do you go by the names they use in Georgia? 😂
@@MelissaParrellaI liked the ones in Georgia (LBB) and now Pennsylvania. The s'mores cookie (the sandwich cookie not the chocolate covered) was new and became my new favorite and I definitely prefer the Savannah Smiles over the Lemonades.
Thin Mints are addictive. I can’t stop with just one.
They are so addictive! 😀
Like Monica in Friends hahaha
Yeah, I could easily eat a whole box in one sitting!
You should try British Viscounts
Yay! So glad y’all enjoyed my email and the cookies (biscuit’s) ☺️ my girls were so excited to hear their names y’all definitely made their day and helped me pass 23 mins on the treadmill lol (trying to stay fit after eating Girl Scout Cookies 😂) thank y’all so much! ♥️
My daughter is in girl scouts. We live in the state of Montana. We spent 2 months focusing on selling the cookies. From going door to door (which we didn't do much this year due to negative degree weather) and every Saturday and Sunday the girls would set up a booth in front of a local store for up to 8 hours at a time. A portion of the money they received is going to a camp the girls are going to this summer. We sold the type of cookies on Alex's side. My favorite, as well as the rest of my family, is the thin mints. (On a side note this is the last year for the Savannah smiles.) I absolutely love your channel.
Wow, sounds like they worked so hard. You must be proud. That’s a shame savannah smiles are discontinued. I wonder why. Thank you so much ♥️
Was a girl scout for 13 years and received my silver award during that time! I am now a lifetime scout! So the cookies that kate tried were mostly east coast and the others were mostly west coast! Happy you enjoyed them!
Wow that’s amazing.
Girl Scouts always reminds me of the movie ‘Troop Beverly Hills.’ My mom had me watch it and my favorite Girl Scout cookies are the peanut butter sandwich
I’ve not watched that film! Will have to check it out
Oh, it is one of the better funny movies. I guffaw every time I’ve watched it. Yeah, I’ve watched it a number of times. ❤️
Grayson J. Love that movie!!! “It’s khaki wishes and cookie dreams” lol
I am in my mid thirties and that was one of my favorite movies growing up. I probably made my family watch it 50± times in the early 90's.
Autumn Bradbury 🤗
The movie Alex is referring to is called ‘The Boss’ 🤗 Great box to the viewers and she did amazing with the facts
Thanks Grayson I'd completely forgotten the name of that film. It was so great to have all the facts and the cookies. - Alex
I am a troop leader to my daughters Brownie troop. We sell the cookies that Kate has. $5 a box. Selling these cookies is definitely a huge thing for the troops to earn money and the girls to earn prizes. My troop of 9 sold 1,700 boxes this season.
The lemonades are my favorite!!!
Daisies, Brownies, Juniors- Girl Scouts
I am a Troop Leader and my daughter is a Brownie.
That's so interesting. Ours are Rainbows, Brownies, Girl Guides.
InTheKitchenWithKate same I used to be in rainbows before brownie! Ly
After Juniors you have Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors :)
Jessica Brown you forgot the Cadets, Seniors and the newly created Ambassadors - Girl Scouts.
Crumbling frozen Thin Mints over a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the summer time is an amazing treat.
That sounds really delicious! We'll have to give that a try! - Alex
The freezing is usually actually because of freshness and not so much temperature. Temperature is part of it but because we try to buy in bulk and to spread out snacks or treats out to keep favorites longer. A lot of people try to budget as much as possible to keep it possible to have snacks and treats for the whole month when they get paid monthly not bi weekly.
I love how sweet you guys are to each other. Really nice brother and sister relationship
Little Brownie Bakers is now owned by Keebler a subsidiary of Kellogg’s. I’m not sure if it’s the only LBB location but I know we do have one here in Louisville, Ky! S’mores cookies are a fairly new addition. You can get “dupes” for thin mints, Samoa’s, Tagalongs, and Do si dos in most groceries year round. I will add the dupes are cheaper but it’s worth supporting the Girl Scouts to pay a bit extra! It teaches the girls about business and finance as well ;) My favorite is Samoas, I love coconut but the Tagalongs are a close second. I think whoever first decides to combine peanut butter and chocolate should have a holiday named in their honor 🤤
I live in an area where I can get both! I order from both bakeries and multiple packs of each kind! It depends on my mood which of the flavors and bakeries I like.
My friend (who was a girl scout) they are sold based on regions of the country. In my area we have Samoas and my friend in Wisconsin has Carmel delights. In Fort Worth, people enjoy Caramel deLites, which are more cookie than coconut, vanilla-flavored cookie drizzled with a milkier chocolate; a few miles east, in Dallas, the same cookie -- here called Samoas -- has a heavier layer of caramel, a darker chocolate drizzle, and its coconut is noticeably more toasted
Say thank you 😀
What a nice touch to have all that information between the two cookies, it really brought the whole video together so well
I’ve been missing your guys videos! And I’ve been so excited for this video. So glad your viewers were able to send you some!
Because wtf has finished it now feels like we hardly post! Glad you’re excited for this video 😀🎉 me too! So lucky
I was a Girl Scout for around 7 years. Selling Girl Scout cookies has become more of a challenge then as much helping others. Troop leaders push the girls to get out and meet people and sell as many as possible, with each box you sell you get closer to certain prizes. The thanks a lots are my favorite, when I was a child and teething my mom would freeze them and give them to me, it helps with the pain, and tastes great!
I first heard about them on Friends, when Ross had to try and sell loads 😂😂
Ahh no way! I mustn’t have watched that episode yet!! Love that 😂
Lauren Williams that episode was so funny 😂
@inthekitchenwithkate season 3 episode 10! Haha
I was a girl scout through my senior year of high school and am now a leader. Little Brownie was the original Baker, ABC was added when Little Brownie couldn't keep up with demand. Cookies are the main fundraiser for the Girl Scout troops. Many of us use the money to complete service projects in our communities. The most popular flavor is Thin Mints, followed by Samoas, and then Tagalongs. Do-Si-Dos actually fall around 4th or 5th favorite nationwide.
The lemonades are my absolute alll time favorite 🤭🤤🤤
😋😋
The Samoas are my favorite. Hope you enjoy all of them though.
So great finally getting to try them 😀 thank you Shawn!
I also love the Samoas. Maybe the reason the thin mints are number one is because people that love the thin mints buy so many of them.
Cookies sold by the Girl Souts are used as fundraisers for the troop. Each troop keeps the funds raised which is a % of each box sold. The girls in each troop then decide how to spend the $. Most often it is used to pay for an activity such as camping, horseback riding , sailing or the like. many times incorporating the ability to earn a badge. Also there are usually council prizes for individual girls who sell the most boxes. Each council has different prizes. The girls are not allowed to sell without an adult present and most have stopped the door-to-door sales due to safety concerns. Most have a relationship with a local retail store or restraunt where they are allowed to set up a table in front of the location to sell ccookies. Even though they are sold for a short period of time, the good thing is that they freeze well to keep them into the months where they are no longer available and that is probably why folks learned that the thin mints taste good frozen. I like the Tagalongs frozen. But even with the best of intentions to freeze them and keep them for later, we often are out of cookies sooner than we wish to be!
We have daisies, brownies, juniors, cadets, ambassadors . The organization as a whole is Girl Scouts. Every age sells the cookies once a year.
Your scout honors are so similar to the US but man, hearing that "Queen" in there is so odd!! :P
Thats's so awesome! What do you guys say instead of queen? - Alex
@@ThisWithThem "my country" instead of queen :P
@@ThisWithThem I looked it up on the girl scouts web page (or at least one of them)
Girl Scout Promise:
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
(While saying this, hold up the 3 middle fingers on you left hand)
Girl Scout Law:
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
For the Boy Scouts it's:
Boy Scout Oath or Promise:
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
Note that the Boy Scout Oath has traditionally been considered to have three promises. Those three promises are delineated by the semicolons in the Oath, which divide it into three clauses. The three promises of the Scout Oath are, therefore:
Duty to God and country,
Duty to other people, and
Duty to self
DUTY TO GOD AND COUNTRY: Your family and religious leaders teach you to know and serve God. By following these teachings, you do your duty to God.
Men and women of the past worked to make America great, and many gave their lives for their country. By being a good family member and a good citizen, by working for your country's good and obeying its laws, you do your duty to your country. Obeying the Scout Law means living by its 12 points.
DUTY TO OTHER PEOPLE: Many people need help. A cheery smile and a helping hand make life easier for others. By doing a Good Turn daily and helping when you're needed, you prove yourself a Scout and do your part to make this a better world.
DUTY TO SELF: Keeping yourself physically strong means taking care of your body. Eat the right foods and build your strength. Staying mentally awake means learn all you can, be curious, and ask questions. Being morally straight means to live your life with honesty, to be clean in your speech and actions, and to be a person of strong character.
Boy Scout Law:
A Scout is:
Trustworthy,
Loyal,
Helpful,
Friendly,
Courteous,
Kind,
Obedient,
Cheerful,
Thrifty,
Brave,
Clean,
and Reverent.
You can substitute the word god for your beliefs or leave it out altogether.
Girl Scouts are a secular organization.
@@NotKateHepburn If I could go back I'd leave it the hell out 😂
Freeze the Samoa's and Carmel delight's..I think alot of people freeze them also to keep them fresh because when they come around people tend to stock up..
Thin mints are the best! Especially when you eat them right out of the freezer
My boys are scouts. There are levels in both cub scouts and scouts and they recently allowed enrollment of girls as well as boys. They sell Popcorn as their major fundraiser in my area, but do not know if they sell popcorn in other areas of the country.
Cub scout levels
Kindergarten - lions
FIrst grade - Tigers
Second Grade - Wolves
Third - Bears
Forth - Webelos
Fifth - Arrow of light (webelos level 2)
Age 11-18 is the scouts were they earn different ranks based on their own hard work
Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, Eagle.
That’s awesome they are now allowing girls to join!
Mmm popcorn! That’s a good thing to sell
Aww those names are so cute!
I was a girlscouts from age 5 all the way to age 16! I went through all of the different stages and have so many badges I can’t even count! I’ve also won the bronze, silver, and gold awards! I grew up in Florida and our company was little brownie bakers so we had the Tagalongs and Samoa’s ! When I first started the scouts, the cookies were $2.50 a box and now they’re almost $5 which is crazy! I miss being in girlscouts so much and being active in the community, the crafts, camping at special girlscout campsites, the cabins, the projects, and of course selling the cookies and of course being in my troop, it was like a family, and meeting so many friends from other troops! Also my favorite cookie is the Tagalongs/ peanut butter patties!!!!
One of my favorite channels on youtube.. You guys are awesome
So pleased you love our channel. Thank you so much ♥️
I was so excited to see this video! I was a Girl Scout for almost 30 yrs (as a girl, a leader, PR person for my county, and finally I was the person over the Girl Scouts in my county). I love Girl Scout Cookies. As a girl I was top seller for my council for 2 years and btw, our council uses Little Brownie. As a Girl Scout you can earn a Bronze Award (Junior Girl Scouts), Silver Award (Cadette Girl Scouts), and the Gold Award (Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts). I earned both the Silver and Gold Awards but the Bronze Award was only introduced in 2001 so I was before it's time. Thanks for the great video.
Wow that’s amazing! And how good you were the top seller!! Go you 👌🏻👌🏻that’s so cool. Well done 🥇🥈
I didn't know there was two different types of girl scout cookies until I moved to NC when I tried to buy Samoas and u was highly dissappointed to find out in NC there known as caramel delights. But I absolutely love lemonades.
My daughter wanted to do Scouts, but they didn't have enough volunteers, I volunteered to me a Brownie leader first and then moved up as she did. It was a blast! My daughter was hoping her daughter would want to join scouts, but her daughter said no. My favorite cookies are The Samoas and Thin Mints,my husband loves the Savannah Smiles and Peanut Butter Sandwich. Loved this video because Kate finally got to try our Girl Scout cookies. p.s. we buy many boxes so we can freeze them and still enjoy through out the summer. Yummy!!!
Yes a new video I just got home time to get my snacks ready love your videos xx
Ah yaay! Hope you enjoyed watching and snacking 😀 xx
The Girl Guides organization was started by Robert Baden-Powell and the Girl Scouts organization was started by Juliette Gordon Low. Both organizations are similar but not 100% the same.
Girl Scouts: Daisies (Kindergarten - 1st Grade) -> Brownies (2nd - 3rd Grade) -> Juniors (4th - 5th Grade) -> Cadettes (6th - 8th Grade) -> Seniors (9th - 10th Grade) -> Ambassadors (11th - 12th Grade). I was a Brownie and a Junior.
Boy Scouts: The Cub Scouts (ages 5-11) are broken down into six ranks (Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, Arrow of Light). Scouts BSA is from age 11 to age 17 and is also broken down into ranks (Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, Eagle).
The Boys Scouts are now called Scouts BSA and have opened their doors to girls. Scouts BSA groups are separated by gender so girls have their own groups and boys have their own groups.
The Girl Scouts have a pledge that all Girl Scouts recite. You hold up three fingers (pointer, middle, and ring) together and say: On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Caramel De-Lites are my favorite Girl Scout cookie (In Massachusetts, where I used to live, we call them Caramel De-Lites).
Wow thank you for taking your time to write that for us Amy! ♥️
@@ThisWithThem You're welcome! 🙂
I’m from the US and I didn’t even know there was two different types! We get the same type that Kate has on her side.
Same! I feel cheated lol
I live in Florida, and we get the opposite!
@@sharons11157 Woah, Crazy!! lol
That is so crazy, I never knew that either! I’m from Louisiana and we have the left side!
I was a Girl Scout in the 70’s when cookies sold for .50 a box. I still have my badges for selling 1000 boxes or more. We lived on a military base when it was safe to go door to door. When people purchased cookies we gave them a decal to stick to their door that showed they bought cookies and that saved another scout from going to the same house.
I used to be a Girl Scout and I really wish I kept my vest of patches! It was such a fun memory 💕
Proud Girl Scout here! 💚
Quick little thoughts/prayers/memory moment for Troop #3055 who were taken way too soon in my little town.. always in our hearts 😞
For Girl Scouts it goes: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. I started as a Brownie and continued until I was an Ambassador. Best time of my life ☺️
Thank you for posting the levels. I for the life of me couldn't remember what I was when I finally left the scouts
I started as a brownie and made it all the way to ambassador! I miss GS so much! Especially the encampments!!!❤️
Thin mints and Tagalongs will forever be my favs! 🤍 also I’ve been banging your guys videos and I love them, just found ur channel today!
Camp Fire Girls - Bluebirds
Blue Birds were the junior organization to the Camp Fire Girls and were part of the program from the early days. The age a girl could join Blue Birds changed over the years, but the motto remained the same:
Sing, Grow, Help!
The U.S.A. Girl Scouts Grade Levels
:
- Daisies
- Brownies
- Juniors
- Cadettes
- Seniors and Ambassadors
The step above Ambassador is GS Leader, time to teach the next generation. I was a Brownie and Girl Scout. No teacher for me to continue as a Cadette.
Ahh the bluebirds sound awesome!!
I was a bluebird and a campfire girl!
Lieutenant General Robert Baden-Powell started the Boy Scouts in the U.K.. With his sister Agnes he also founded Girl Scouts. Scouting was introduced in the U.S. later. If I am not mistaken the selling of cookies is not just fund raising but part of completing a business learning packet to earn a badge.
Thin Mints are by far my favorite and we don’t stick them in the freezer because of the temperature outside but just because it’s better overall! But I didn’t know that there are two different companies that make the cookies so I’m glad I learned something knew! I’ve actually lived in two different states (Florida - where I’m from and Alabama- where I go to university) and both of the cookies they sell have the same names so that was interesting to me!
Little Brownie Baker all the way!!! I live in Southern CA, and our different counties have either ABC or LBB, and LBB is definitely superior. My top favorite cookies are the Tagalongs and Thin Mints. Breyer's Ice Cream brand does Girl Scout cookie limited edition flavors during the GS season too, and they are divine! I loved being a Girl Scout in the 80's. We didn't have tables to sell at, we actually had to go door to door in our neighborhoods. I forget how many boxes I had to sell, something like 300, but I was so proud one year to get the huge purple dragon badge for reaching my goal. The chocolate bars you saw kids selling were probably the World's Finest Chocolate brand, which is a huge fundraiser product for schools, usually $1 per bar.
Oh my word no way! Bet that ice cream is amazing! Woah that’s so many boxes. Yeah you should be. That’s awesome. That must be it. Thank you ☺️
Daisies, Brownies, Juniors,Cadettes,Seniors, Ambassadors. These are the levels of girl scouts, ranging from grade K thru grade 12
thanks for letting me know sadie 😀
First Class Girl Scout for the win! (First class shows how old, it was the equivalent of Eagle in Boy Scouts). I was the champ seller of cookies one year, and then politely retired so another girl could have that exciting opportunity. Being a Brownie and GS for all those years was the best start ever. Girl Scouts empowers girls for future success!! Hugs to Kate and Alex!
The Samoas are my favorite. My niece is a girls scout and she lives in Las Vegas, Nevada and we can actually order from her online and have the cookies delivered to me in Salt Lake City, Utah. ❤️ Love your videos! I watch them in the morning while I get ready for the day. 😀
They now have them online. That’s awesome. Thank you so much Maryn. So glad you enjoy watching them ☺️
Thin mints have been #1 since my mom was a kid and she is a great-grandmother now. My favorite has always been the lemon and short bread. I enjoyed seeing your take on the different brands. My cousin and I use to always competed on who sold the most and couldn't wait for them to come so we could deliver them. Glad you enjoyed those. Keep up the great work.
I never new that there were 2 different factories that make the cookies and that they make them them differently. Very interesting. Love your videos!!
Yeah so interesting to find that out! Thank you Kellie!
This video was so entertaining to watch x
Thank you Jasmine! So so pleased you think so! X
Great vlog as always. Your hair looks fabulous Kate
Thank you so much Stephanie!
Totally love the thin mints...and your videos.
Great video! You guys always make my day when you post. I LOVE Girl Scout cookies especially caramel delights 🍪🍪 they're very exspensive though! Have a great weekend👍🏻😊🤗
Yaay so pleased you enjoyed watching 😀♥️ yeah really expensive. Thank you ☺️ hope you have a great weekend too!
Theresa here, I was a Campfire girl. We were Bluebirds first and the Boys were Blue-Jays. They are from 1st grade to 3rd grade . In 4th grade we fly up to campfire girls and boys. We sold candy instead. Found this online about the boy scouts www.scouting.org/programs/cub-scouts/what-cub-scouts-earn/. But it too has changed with the times and it is now since the late 70's early 80's when I was in what you all would call Primary school. When I was in it we didn't join until 6 years old or grade one/first grade.] My 23 year old followed her mom and joined.
Past programs[edit]
Bluebirds, Blue Jays, Sparks[edit]
Through the years, many names have been used within Camp Fire to identify different age groups. Camp Fire's youngest members in elementary school were known as Bluebirds for many years.
In 1983, a club program for kindergarteners was introduced. It was called Sparks. In 1989, these two age groups were combined and new program level for kindergarten, first and second graders called Starflight was created. The program of Little Stars for pre-schoolers was added in 2005. The tradition of bluebirds has been preserved as a Camp Fire mascot for all ages to enjoy.[33
Little Stars is for children ages three through five and provides parents and preschool youth with a quality, program-driven playgroup that gives them the opportunity to learn, grow and play.
Starflight program is for boys and girls in kindergarten through second grade. The children meet regularly in adult supervised clubs. Meeting activities can focus on the areas of outdoors, creativity, service, acquiring new skills, learning more about themselves and getting along with others.
Adventure Program is for boys and girls in third through fifth grade. Adventure members earn Action Crafts beads for all the new things they do and for the good habits they learn. At this level youth begin to accept more responsibility for choosing and planning their club activities.
Discovery is for sixth through eighth grades. It gives young people an opportunity to explore new interesting fields. Club members do much of their own planning and decision making, with the adult leader functioning more as an advisor than a supervisor. This is also when Camp Fire youth are eligible to make and wear ceremonial attire, often gowns or tunics, which are worn only at Camp Fire ceremonials.
Horizon is for high school age youth in grades nine through twelve. These young people participate in self-guided programs geared toward preparing them for adult responsibilities and community service. Members may earn the WoHeLo Award.More found here on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Fire_(organization)

I’ve never tried the ABC versions. Everyone in our area has always sold the Little Brownie Bakers. I’ve never understood the popularity of the thin mint either. They’re not our favorite. We actually like the Samoa’s and we heat them for a few seconds in the microwave. It melts that chocolate and caramel making it much more delicious. Savannah smiles are a second for me. Glad you were able to finally try Girl Scout cookies 🍪😊
I’m so glad you guys were able to try Girl Scout cookies. When I was a Brownie in the Girl Scouts in the US, there was a cookie called Snaps. They were like gingerbread cookies with icing. Nowadays, I stick with frozen thin mints. Glad you guys enjoyed the cookies!
Me too!!! I’ve wanted to try them for so long! Mmm they sound so nice 😋 thank you Courtney ☺️
I was a Girl Scout for 13 years growning up. It was a absolute blast. The levels are: Daisy, Brownie, Cadets, juniors, seniors. If there isn't a troop to join you can be a single scout called a Juliette. Try the thin mints frozen, its fantastic! Thanks for your show I love watching y'all.
Wow that’s awesome. So glad you enjoyed your time as a Girl Scout ☺️
Crush up a sleeve of thin mints and stir them into your favorite brownie batter. Magic!
I was a scout and both my daughters have been. We always used Little Brownie Bakers for our entire area.
This was one of my favorite videos! I was a girl scout when I was younger and use to sell these. My favorite girls scout cookies are Samoas and Tagalongs. Glad you guys got to try them!!
Yay so glad you loved this one 😀 yeah me too! Wanted to try them for so long!
Tagalongs are my fave bc i love the chocolate peanut butter combo and Tagalongs are also good frozen :)
I am a Girl Scout! My favorites are Samoas and Thin Mints, Tagalongs are also really good haha. If you didn't know, there are different "levels" based off the ages. The youngest are Daisies, then Brownies, then Juniors, then Cadettes, then Seniors, then the oldest, Ambassadors. There are a few other cookies like "thank you" cookies, and others that my troop doesn't sell. P.S. I love watching your videos! ❤️
I look forward to these every year!!! Yummy! We call them different names but we have levels as well.
I would if I lived in the US 😀😀
This was fabulous! I was a Brownie Troop leader for my daughter - it was an adventure to say the least. Thanks for another great video!
This was such a more educational take on these Try goods, it was incredibly enjoyable!
I agree, thin mints are my fav, I buy them too & put them in the freezer for summer time!! I was a girls scout and loved being in it, especially summer time when we would go to camp!
I would have loved to go to an American summer camp! I bet that was awesome
Former Girl Scout who’s three nieces are now Daisies and Brownies (sold 500 boxes this year). We take our Girl Scout Cookies season serious here lol I don’t get the love for Thin Mints either but Samoas and Tag a Longs are the favorites in my house. Plus having Trefoils to nibble with coffee and tea ☺️ My brother in law also prefers the Lemonades to the Savannah Smiles and was disappointed that no troops around us had them, he had friends on the east coast send boxes 😂
If I remember right in the USA the Girl Scout levels are...
Daisy (Youngest)
Brownie
Junior
Cadet
Senior (Oldest)
The only level I remember about Boy Scouts is the highest level which is called Eagle Scout.
Do-Si-Dos are amazing when dipped in coffee or tea 😍
Ahh I think I had heard of Eagle Scout! Daisy’s are so cute for the young ones!
@@ThisWithThem The Daisy Scouts are really adorable! I just remembered for Boy Scouts that there is a level called, "Cub Scouts" which I think is the youngest but I may be wrong. They sell Popcorn in huge tins every year while the Girls sell Cookies.
I'm so happy you got to try our Girl Scout cookies!!!!! :)
I like how Alex is, he's like im just gonna eat them and Kate's like let's read before we eat, be patient. My sister is just like Kate but im a bit more like Alex even though im a girl. I just love sweets.
Hahaha I've got no time for reading when there's food to try 😀 - Alex
In California, or at least around here they go for $5 a box. I didn't know there were two different bakeries. Last year when I bought them I didn't care for them and thought they changed recipes but now I know, thanks to you why there was different. The girl scouts I bought them from had the lemonades so now I know what to look out for. But if you'd like a treat, freeze the thin mints, break them up and serve over vanilla ice cream and sliced strawberries. Soooo good.
In Canada we only have thin mints and then the vanilla and chocolate sandwiches. But I love thin mints!! 🥰
Thats so interesting! and are they made by the same bakers?
In the US the recipes are owned and produced by the two different bakers. In Canada the recipes for the cookies are owned by Girl Guides Canada and are produced in association with Dare Foods (a popular cookie making company that sells many different varieties in grocery stores) which is why Canada only has a few flavours of cookie the Thin Mints in the fall and the classic sandwiches in the spring!
Such fun !! I had no idea how different the cookies are from each manufacturer. I've only had them on the east coast. Thanks for the lesson in comparing and contrasting :-).
Thanks Diane! So pleased you enjoyed our video ☺️
So awesome to hear the original names of the cookies again. In the US..well New Jersey anyway they have changed the names to the side Alex is on. When I was in girlscout they were the names on Kate's side.
Scouts are a chain organization across the country. When I was a kid, the local version was Campfire Girls, and the church our family attends now, have a club called Royal Rangers.
When I was in, I remember making a Christmas ornament out of a Styrofoam ball, and sewing a picture on a square of fabric. Then they put all the squares together and made a quilt for someone that was in the hospital.
I was never a scout as a youth, but now I work for my local boy scouts council professionally; it's always so interesting to hear about different scouting programs around the globe!
Somoas are my favorite cookies too!
Just watched this. I was a Girl Scout in the 1990’s. My fav was always the Samoa’s. My brother liked the thin mints, my mom liked the Tagalongs and my dad liked the Do-Si-Dos. Not a fan of the ABC brand of cookies. Glad you guys got to try both companies!! Btw, grocery stores have started making their own kind of Girl Scout cookies, they just can’t use the same names :-)
Thinmints and Samoas are my favorites. I love them both ways room temp and cold. Have a great day, thanks for the videos & keep them coming!!!
Thank you Leann! Hope you have a great day too!
I was a girl scout and still support them with cookie buying! My faves ate samosas, tag a longs, thin mints and lemonades.
Troop Beverly Hills was my all time favorite movie growing up and made me want to be in the Girl Scouts in the worst way. I loved being a part of my troop ❤️
That was awesome. We look forward every year for girl scout cookies. I love the Smores, thin mints and Samoas. So many cookies so little time lol. Love you both.
How fun , Girl Scout cookies are the best! Kate I love that you are wearing a Colorado shirt!! It’s a beautiful place!
Trefoils are my fave !!! Such a simple yet delicious cookie !!!!!! 😍
My favorite are Thin Mints and Savannah Smiles!! Yum!
Canada has Girl Guides, and I was once sold cookies when I was at a campground! Ruthless!
First, fantastic video. I learned a a lot about Girl Scout Cookies. Thin Mints are my absolute favorite cookie. I will buy 10 to 12 boxes of them. I keep them in the freezer and will eat them alone or add them to vanilla ice cream or just whipped cream.
Carmel Delites for sure. Also good cold. Since they are available only once a year we buy boxes and freeze them. Then we can’t wait and eat them cold. 😁
jslost that sounds delicious I’m going to have to try that 🤗
I hear lots of people enjoy stocking up! I know I would 😆
In Canada....it is Girl Guides and I love their vanilla filled cookies and their chocolate filled cookies. They are very good and I love to put the chocolate filled cookies the freezer so they don't melt.
Kate and Alex....you should try the Canadian Girl Guides cookies. I think you would enjoy them too!
In Canada we have girl guide cookies... There are two types cream filled cookies each box has a row of chocolate and a row of vanilla, and mint cookies they have a chocolate cookie base with a fondant mint filling covered in chocolate.
Fun time! I loved selling Girl Scout Cookies, forever ago! My mother was my Brownie leader...we couldn't wait too "fly up" to be Girl Scouts so we could sell them. There were so many girls in my neighborhood, that the mom's would by a box from each of us and up 20 boxes of cookies. Mind you they were $2 a box then!
I was a brownie scout too Kate love this video and thin mints are my favorite!
Yaaay 😀♥️
So glad you enjoyed watching
Thanks alots are my favorite
I live in Lousiville ky and one of the Girl Scout cookie companies are located here
I was a Brownie Girl Scout! I was with troop 181! I am proud of being a Girl Scout!
I was a Girl Scout all through to high school and got the gold award... Somoas and Tagalongs are my favorite
I am also someone who has earned the Gold Award. It is hard and takes a lot of work but it is pretty awesome to be in a group that has about 6% of all Girl Scouts.
I love thin mints!
