Joburg looks great in this video, but there's a lot of poverty. And the N suburbs are full of beggars at traffic lights and shacks suddenly appear on vacant land overnight.... it has major issues, but I love it too. Very strange.
"Johannesburg is a city where the rich and the poor are trying to make a life for themselves to find their goal. It is full of people living, surviving, losing, gaining, taking, giving...its full of life. If you are one of the lucky to find gold then the city will give it to you, there is a reason why it is often why it is referred as the city of gold and the city for the people" A Love Letter to Johannesburg. (Beautifully encapsulated).
💥💜💥💜💥 I live in Jozi. As wild as it can sometimes be, what makes it a special place is the people. Johannesburgers will embrace you! This isn't a 'lonely' city. The spirit of Abantu abounds.
Thank you for commenting and sharing - ‘this isn’t a lonely city’ hits home for me. It’s something I missed to mention in the video 🙏 thank you for adding it.
❤ I love this city too. I’m 36 as I write this: I lived my first 18 years at home in the EC and then the other 18 have been split equally between JHB & CPT. Jozi may not have the picturesque landscapes, but it’s home to some of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met. Cape Town, for all its natural beauty, came with an unwelcoming atmosphere. As beautiful as the city is, it is home to the most unambitious, miserable and racially divided bunch I have ever met. I made a vow not to raise my kids in that kind of environment, and that’s why I moved up here. Johannesburg, on the other hand, feels like home!
I am CT based but every time I visit Joburg and surround, I am always amazed by how far Jozi has progressed. I enjoy driving the streets, the highways and just looking at all those tall, hostorical buildings. I love that not one suburb is built the same and you can be in an urban area one minute and suburb the next
I'm planning on moving to Capetown from jobrug next year for uni, and although i'm looking forward to it, Jozi will always have my heart. Something about the city has forever engrained itself into who i am and who i want to be. Thank you, Jozi. Thank you
Nothing nicer than knowing I was born and raised in such a special city! It's not perfect, oh but she's certainly a one of a kind. Thank you for this. 🙌
I'm a tour guide whose been in Joburg for close to a decade. I'm so happy that people get to fall in love with the city in ways they never imagined they would. Thank you for sharing Josh
@@johanlotter5197 No. It's only good if you're earning in dollars. I have seen so many people from CPT move to Jozo because they can't afford to live there anymore.
I moved from a small town to Johannesburg, found some gold nuggets and to be honest much as I try to love it and appreciate it, you can only see so much trash as you drive around, so many hawkers hogging sidewalks, so many traffic lights not working, so many 50m high walls and electric fences and hear so many accents you don't recognise. It's not the city we as the people of this city want it to be, it's a city where we develop, bad elements takeover, we run and they cycle repeats itself. Even the North now has the same issues that resulted in the CBD being the unlivable shithole it is today. Off to greener pastures... in Pretoria!
In CT if you have money and prefer CT lifestyles yes, your lifestyle could be 100x better...But of late, CT just feels congested and City centre traffic is a headache at any time of the day. I suppose CT and JHB just offer totally different lifestyles and one is either for or not 😉
This is the nicest piece ever made about Johannesburg.
Thank you - that means alot 🙏

Yup - it is hard to put into words 🙌
The best city in the world. Where you can hustle, live and be free.

Cape Town crime is also higher than Jozi

It’s finally all coming together 😂
@joshuadavidwallen yeah and comments are rolling in! 300 views too 👍🏼
I have lived here all my life. Despite its issues I can't see myself living in any other city.

JOZI FOREVER CPT NEVER 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
CPT sure looks great 😁 . JHB literally has a street that exploded - a first for Africa! Thanks ANC 👏👏👏
@@johanlotter5197 CPT has a nice CBD and suburbs but the outskirts are dystopian. JHB is the reverse of that.
@@FictionHubZA but we can all agree, CPT is better 😁

i'm kidding, things are possible in this city, i love the convenience and variety in Jozi, -Ghandi square, Braam, Melville.
😭😭😭😭😭🙏🏿😥
🙏🙏
Where did you find all these clean places to film 😅
The red open bus did me a solid.
Am shocked also.
Pretoria is better. But Johannesburg is definitely to be respected for the hustle culture
How is Pretoria better? Lived in both and think jhb is the best
its the way you made johannesburg look like japan on the cover for me
I see what you are saying 👀
I used to get nightmares about jozi😂
😂 not anymore I hope
Joburg is only an airport to another country to me....its dirty 😩
You mean the city center? Sandton, Melrose arch, Rose Bank etc are also in JHB
Well done Josh. Keep us posted on Wuhan.
Thank you - will do 🙏

Cape Town only works if you're rich.
