Great video! Don’t be intimidated by some of the taller Ducatis if you are shorter like me(5’6”). I bought a 14’ Hypermotard SP from Marty years ago and it was a blast commuting on it everyday.
@@jua_hypetems1316 I have a 30 inch inseam and the Hyper SP is pretty comfortable for me. 1 cheek off I can have 1 foot flat. Getting both toes down is fine
5'6 here with a Streetfighter V4 SP and Multi V4 Pikes Peak. Tiptoes all the way but no problems whatsoever. Careful with the Multi though it's a bit weighty.
I’m 5-6” and grew up riding motocross bikes. The Hypermotard is what I have my eyes on. It’s shorter than my dirt bikes and I don’t think I have ever ridden anything that I could touch both feet to the ground. Looks rowdy
8:07 on the multistrada I think you said "left foot down, not supposed to, gear side." Actually, what you did is correct in most cases, left foot down and right foot on rear brake and in 1st gear.
Man you are my inspiration as short rider department! I love the Hypermotard 950 but this life is not for me, but I already bought Hyperstrada 939 2016 and, man I am so excited to ride anywhere anytime
Appreciate your comment Jay. We made this video to help those who are not able to swing a leg over all the bikes at their local dealer and to show that they should not be intimidated by the larger bikes especially with the lowered seat options from Ducati!
just a great video. its like youre reading everyones mind in content we need. especially these days when a lot of dealerships (especially in korea) dont have a lot of display models due to the problems in the global supply chain. cant say enough as im binging all your videos. cheers
Great video. Thank you for doing this. It’s extremely helpful for us short folks. 👍🏾 I sat on a Desert X this weekend and was completely surprised I could one foot it with the other on the peg at 5’6” with a 29” inseam. It felt a lot lighter than I thought it would be too.
I have a 2022 Hyper SP and and a 29in inseam. Of course I ordered the factory Lo seat which is a little better. But still way too tall. So what I did was I took the factory seat and modified it just like I've had to do with every tall motorcycle I've ever owned. Right now I'm sitting on one cm of jell straight off the seat pan this may sound uncomfortable but it actually isn't now I wouldn't want to do any 300-mile trips on it though. What you got to do is take some Gorilla Glue spray adhesive glue the factory foam down to the seat pan and then you take a bread knife and carve it all the way down to the pan you have to do this because the Ducati factory seat pan is not flat like most motorcycles. Got A large piece of gel off of eBay and laid it in the cut out area trimmed everything to fit. So now with just one centimeter of gel I can get my one foot down pretty well on the pavement not so much of a balancing act anymore when I come to a stop. This modified seat is about one and a half inch lower than the factory Lo seat. Which is about as good as it gets.
Hi guys, what a great idea for a video. You are so right about not being able to check riding ground clearance on a complete range, Ducati or otherwise. I am still waiting for my V2S after waiting 6 months and have been concerned about the standard 32” seat, since I have been riding a Multi for 8 years with the 33” seat. Checked with the dealer and they recommended I go with the taller seat, but they never suggested that when I ordered. I am 6’3” so was worried that when the bike arrived (God knows when!) my riding position would not be optimal. Your video has pretty much confirmed my concerns. I note your comments about the current delivery situation. It is the same here in Western Australia where Ducati can’t even give me an accurate delivery!
The standard seat on the hyper only doesnt have a lot of padding because of the plastic shaping inside of it. The lowered seat has a different shaped plastic molding and has just as much cushion, if not slightly more
OMG thanks. Im currently on Tracer 9GT but I think I'll go multistrada v4s next year. I was riding streetfigther v2 of mine friend for few weeks. I'm 175cm tall and it was looking exactly how you look on streetfighter. Now I'm 100% sure multistrada will be ok in case of my height :)
This is awesome guys. I was about to call and ask Marty's height as I am part of the vertically challenged crew. Want a second scrambler but this time a Desert Sled...Desert X is sick but way too big for me. Hello from 🇨🇦
I'm 5'8" and I'm on my tip toes with my 21' V4. Trying to park it on any type of incline while walking it is a huge pain. It's a small inconvenience really, no issue lol
5’4” riding a stock Multi 1200S. No problem at all. Have ridden the V4S as well didn’t find an issue. I think shorter guys like me find a way to adapt.
Maybe in the future 👍 It's best to stop by your local Ducati dealer and have them prep a SFV4 with the lowered seat so you know first hand the difference.
I have an M1200R and a MTS1260PP both tall bikes. I also have a 30" inseam with no issues. In fact, I set the Multi's seat to it's highest as it provides more legroom comfort. Taller bikes should not intimidate anyone with a short inseam as you have a riding comfort advantage.
Thanks for this. Would’ve been even better if you had a third with a longer inseam and then also showed the rider triangle from the side of the bike with a foot on the peg.
Did you now that the Multistrands S models can have the loads changed in all three modes urban mode has the lowest load settings, which will lower the bike too.
From my experience, it's not just about the seat height, but also how wide the seat is. A few years ago, I was on the market for either the Ducati Hypermotard 950, or the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900. Despite the Hypermotard 950 being lower than the Dorsoduro 900 by the specs, I can't tippy toe both sides of the Hyper, but I can on the Dorso so I chose the Dorso 900 in the end, and never looked back.
This is super helpful. Vertically challenged person myself. Have an Aprilia with a 31.7 in seat height with the 30 in inseam. Looking heavily at the the monster and street fighter v2 as my next bike but was worried about the seat height. Besides me sitting on one this is the next best thing.
