Thank you for this video! Here’s an additional tip that works for me: I don’t cut out the lining until I’m done making the outside body. Then I use the finished outside body (flat) as my lining pattern piece. That way it’s a perfect fit. I also just cut the lining about a 1/4 inch shorter so it sits nicely in the bottom and I don’t need to alter the boxed corners. 😊
Wonderful video! I love the way you instruct your viewers and gives us tips that we may not have thought about. I thought your hack was one of the best I've seen. And no music or extraneous talking is a treat- just straightforward instructions. I made sure to subscribe. TY for posting.
I took my time finishing this one. It's my first H2O2GO. I decided to do the hacked version because your cut and sew videos were so well done. I did have to recut my pocket pieces because I didn't think through that I'd need to center the design in the middle if the pocket. Next time I'll just make a separate template piece for the pocket top and bottom. Thrilled with the end product. I manage trainers and tech writers for a software company for our corporate learning center. Your tutorial videos are stellar.
I had to use a 5/8” seam allowance to attach my side panels to get them to match up. I measured them over and over and they were 6” wide. Not sure what I did wrong but it’s definitely throwing everything off.
I love the clarity of your instructions and video! Thank you so much. One suggestion for this and the cutting video: unless the sides of the shapes are equal, they are rectangles (not squares).
Thanks you for sharing this! I have never made any bag before and I'm a novice. This tutorial was extremely helpful. Hoping I can find a kit to try for my first time!
Thanks for the video - I made the bag for the first time using your approach (I have the pattern). Great directions, only thing I would do differently is to reduce the length of the lining by a 1/2” as it may fit a bit better.
Thank you for this video. I appreciate the no music as I really need your spoken instructions. Excellent ! One question..is there a way to reduce bulk in those front vertical seems and at the bottom of the pocket? My machine has issues sewing a straight line over those thick areas ( domestic, vintage).
You can trim your excess seam allowance! You can also shorten the inside pocket lining so that it doesn't reach the bottom seam, just make sure you stitch it closed before finishing that last seam!
This is by far the best hack for the H2O2GO that I’ve made - very well done; thank you so much!! Quick question: every time I box the lining, it comes out 4”x3.75” and I know my 2” up and 1.75” over are exact. Thoughts?
@@SewBestie LOL I’ve been thinking about this for like the last hour! What about this: because there’s no seam on the sides when you go to box, if you mark at 1.75” in from the side and take a 1/4” seam allowance, is that actually adding another 1/2” total? Because I’m getting the 4” across/side to side and get 3.5” from front to back. I was going to mock up trying it at 1.5” in from the sides and see if I get 3.5”. Can you say OCD?!
Thank you for the video! I have a question.. My body liner pieces measure 11 3/8 " after carefully taping so the diamonds shape matches. So when I add two inches my piece is 13 3/8" tall instead of 13". I am printing through Adobe. It is set at 100% . The pattern piece should measure 11"" after taping together correct? Mine measures 11 3/8". Any ideas what is wrong?
I have had a few people comment with the same issue, but it still works the same, just line up you pattern piece at the top of your fabric block and cut out - or add the extra length as desired to your fabric block, then proceed as mentioned 💙
🤣 no worries!!! Everyone learns a little different! I personally love the "noise" of background music, but I'm also ADHD and Autistic - so, not nuerotypical 😅 until someone told me about the music being distracting, I had no idea!!!
Big Thank you for taking off the music. For me, it makes it easier to focus. :)
Thank you!!

Thank you! I love your videos! Excellent video and instruction. I love that we can actually SEE what you’re doing without lots of weird camera angles!
If I can't see it while I'm recording, that means you can't see what I'm doing!!

You have on your machine...a double straight stitch ❤
This machine does not do a double needle, or a double stitch, it is only a single straight stitch, but still my favorite machine in the world!
great video, thank you!
🥰
I got excited and thought you were home. Then I figured out this was a repeat and thought the other video got taken down. Lol.
Lol, almost home!!!! The other didn't get taken down, but some people asked for the video with no music, so here it is!!

That should be accounting for the 1/4" seam allowance on the bottom - so the actual "opening* should match!
@@SewBestie Right?!! It’s driving me crazy because your logic is exactly correct! It should be a finished measurement of 3.5”x3.5”, correct?
I think you might be cutting your boxes the wrong direction 🙈
I'm not sure where you're getting a 4" box measurement?
@@SewBestie LOL I’ve been thinking about this for like the last hour!
