A part of me wishes I spent more time in the trial to do some of these because of the time sink, but it's like you said, some people are in it for the story, etc. So it depends on your goals and how much you enjoy side content. Nice video! These are good ideas for people going through the trial 😀

Got all zodiac, Got all anima, all classes and jobs 60 cap, Max tribes, got a necromancer title. free trial for almost 2 years now and its time for me to sub this december(sale). REEEEEEEEEE. i think you forgot collecting BLUE class spells too!
1-15 do hunting log 15-60 do dungeons, dailies, and leve quests if you care to get different gear. You can do palace of the dead too though it’s no longer the best way as before. You’ll be safe with dungeons for trial 60-90 there’s beast tribe dailies that help most
I am feeling you man, it's harder than I thought. And I'm a learn by doing type of guy, so if I die on 150+ to learn a lesson it'll take me days to get back there and I'll hope I've remembered what I learned... At least 149 levels are cake for me now.

Another tip for the zodiac weapons is to look ahead at the steps you will be doing later on. For the free trial, one of the items needed for crafting can only be gotten from a specific set of treasure maps which you can only get once a day and it isn't a guaranteed drop. So getting ahead on that grind even if you aren't on that step can save you literal weeks of time - or months if your rng is particularly bad. Edit: Also, be sure to see where different systems connect and can be done together. For example, the beast tribe quests can get you currency that can be used to get items for your relic weapons. Some of the Alexander raids do that too! Everything connects in some way and the more systems you explore the more you can see those connections.
You should have mentioned The Gold Saucer in general. Chocobo breeding is a time sink, if you want to get good at Vermillion then that will take time (I think never played but it seems complicated) and getting all those prizes, especially with the 4 million MGP mount. There is no advantage to being a full sub, so if you want to do/get any of those may as well do it in the trial.
I can't honestly suggest Ishgardian Restoration, as you need to be level 80ish in crafting to receive points towards that huge grind mount. I'd hate for trial players to get all those scripts for all the mounts and emotes etc. Then find out that they have earned nothing towards the mount/titles. However, if you want to get something using Fete tokens, yes I would recommend that. The Peacelover's set is purchased through Fete tokens, and there is no harm/disadvantage of getting those prizes.
3438 hours free trial player reporting. I just made another alt account for sub. You can login both characters on the same pc and carry your free trial through content lol. For necromancer. I find it less stressful with warrior until you get to floor 170 where time matters. War also got a fell cleave buff recently.
Not really. I'm a RPer at heart/insane, so I just couldn't make one character who had all Jobs. So if you want to make a alt for some reason, then yes as alts do take a lot of time. But FFXIV is NOT alt friendly, and tbh it doesn't need to be.
as a free trial player taking my time through ARR (going for all relic weapons! got quite a few so far) i join nearly every EX/Coils PF i see put up. ive beaten all the ARR EX trials on every role (Tank, Healer, Melee, Phys Ranged, Caster), and have done T1-T10 coils as healer. T9 alone took many many months to clear when finding the random parties in PF, it wasnt until someone that actually KNEW all the divebomb layouts that we beat it. all my groups either couldnt get to the transition, or we always wiped at divebombs

Because of Stormblood inventory space its really an issue, so do you think there is a more valuable trimmed sack? Or maybe one that you get more of, so you can stack more.
You should look at what rewards the sacks drop and if you want to use them. Silver sacks have general-purpose dyes so I've been cashing them in to get Jet back and pure white dyes for my glams, unfortunately I need to get rid of the surplus ARR trial crafted weapons in one way or another. I also got the Night Pegasus from the gold sacks. But after I got what I wanted I stop cashing them in. By saving the sacks you can in a way bank some gil. Because those items can sell well on the market board. I just think that have 4 inventory slots is better than my armory being completely swamped by the equipment you get. Hope this provides some insight.
700 hours into the trial and I'm almost at the end of heavensward with the vast majority of my time spent doing trials and raids minimum item level and no echo. It doesn't offer any reward and there's no progression to speak of but it's a fun challenge.
Just started a 4 days ago and im loving it only said ill do the full sub. Once ive done everything the trial has to offer and with storm blood coming that full sub is in the far future lol

Tried to get Necromancer several times but my luck doesn't help, had DCs in almost all of my runs in any way you can imagine so i ended up giving up.

So what happens to the free trial after 30 days and if I'm not done with heavensward.
No restrictions on play time. Unless you already bought the game and got the first 30 days free that's not the trial.

Considering the glam you use has several pieces from the Ishgardian Restoration I'm surprised you didn't mention that.
