    Hi Ben I want to tell you I appreciate you. And I appreciate your car reviews. I've been cross shopping for a 2nd vehicle and thus vans are cheaper to insure. You can never go wrong with a Toyota I have a 2014 Toyota Camry 2.5 4 cylinder. 11 years later with 237,000 miles I've never had a issue with my foot pushed in it. while keeping normal maintenance. I'm pretty much sold on my next vehicle purchase. And thank you for a real vehicle review. 💕

    My wife and I just retired and we are buying the Sienna for road trips w/ our dogs. Love Pacifica but don't trust it as I had brand new one as a rental one time to drive 500 miles one way and the Navigation went out and AC only worked half the time on very hot days. So Toyota was an easy choice.

    Honestly, I like the interior better on the Sienna better than the Carnival, Odyssey, or Pacifica. Those 2nd row lounge chairs with the massive leg room are a game changer for taller/larger people. The Sienna also has sharper lines, making it more interesting than the others in this lineup. It has a heads-up display, and I think the only one of the others that has that is the Carnival. I'd have preferred a V6 myself, but the 4cyl/hybrid thing seems to be working for Toyota. If it has enough power to get out of its own way, that's enough. It's not a sports car. It's meant to be comfortable.

    I would imagine one would miss that V6 power when you load it up with adults, kids, and bags for a road trip.

    I know a few people who have run into some transmission issues with past years of the Odyssey, and more than a few who have had fits with the Pacifica and constant issues. I never thought I would have a minivan, but I honestly love my '20 V6 Sienna. I do envy the hybrid gas mileage, though.

      Honda Odyssey leak oil and fouls the spark plugs, any honest mechanic will tell you this. This is a fatal flaw of their engine. Stay away after 100,000 miles.

    You nailed it. I have a Pacifica Hybrid. All those cool features are totally meaningless with the amount of problems it has. I am looking to by a boring on paper sienna because I want reliability!

    Just wish Toyota would buck their own trend of having the most outdated cockpit technology especially when they charge a premium over the others

    Gas prices are a major reason why the Toyota will outsell the others. The Sienna looks great from the outside, too. Being that it is a minivan, who needs speed? If you're looking to go 90 every day then go get a Sportscar.

    Have a new 2024 Toyota Sienna Platinum (because that is the only trim level dealerships happen to receive around here...hmmm funny how that works). Pro's: quiet, smooth, nice cabin console, tons of leg rooms in back seat when you slide seats. Cons: 3rd row is like a cave, no light and you can barely see out the tiny windows (biggest bummer). 2nd row Ottoman calf-rests don't work for taller people. The Heads Up Display is a joke really only reminding you, LIKE A NANNY, that you are going above the speed limit, who isn't and like all the time?! Ground clearance is TERRIBLE, scraping on most dips. Too quiet, you never when the engine is on and have to constantly look at the dash. Just sold our Honda Odyssey and miss it's interior but not the oil/sparkplug problem that many people don't like to talk about.

    It annoys me that the nicer wheels and paint colors are available on the lower trims but not the platinum.

    I know people who owned & operated the 3.5 liter V6 driven across country with basic maintenance how wil this version hold up the hybrid batteries in this one are nickle metal hydride which is less susceptible to temperature like AGM batteries

    Does the gas power charge the hybrid battery? I've had 2 Pacificas, and the reliability is a nightmare. However, Chrysler backs up its customers when it comes to the warranty. You can't beat stow and go,and the others don't have every row stow and go. I'm curious: Are the seats removable? Unfortunately, I will never buy a 4 cylinder again unless it has electric motors and the horsepower is at least 250.

    The comments here are comparable to 1st grade comments. The Sienna is for efficiency and reliability. Get a different minivan if it is not your top priority. Nobody understands hybrid technology in autos better than Toyota. Do you know this is the 5th gen hybrid? No other auto maker has the history to backup their claims about hybrid. Starting from 2021, the Sienna received the best hybrid technology and the cost is reflected in the msrp. You get your return on investment (difference in price vs other minivans) in 4 to 5 years due to the better mileage. It's not hard to understand why this is the best minvan

  • @davidhypes5228
    @davidhypes5228 4 місяці тому

    Good review Ben. BTW, you still also get a V6 with the Plug-in Hybrid Pacifica. Considering that Chrysler has sold about twice as many minivans, so far this year, as Honda and Toyota, and about 3.5 times as many than the Kia, doesn’t seem too many people are concerned about reliability.

    • @alexvaliansky7707
      @alexvaliansky7707 4 місяці тому +3

      The plug-in hybrid Pacifica has serious reliability problems. If I recall correctly, Consumer Reports gives it a rating of 36 out of 100.

    • @Gold04
      @Gold04 4 місяці тому +1

      Chrysler pushes out their minivans faster than the competition, availability is why they sell more but their reliability sucks. Most Siennas are sold before they even reach the dealership.

    Nice van but it's totally not worth it 👎🏽 the price is way too high you can get a Cadillac Escalade for that the Excel or the regular version fully loaded....
    Toyota is not at the top no more they're not selling cars or Vans like they used to I know this to be a fact,
    Chrysler Pacifica offers pretty much all the same features or better and it's like $30,000 cheaper 👍🏽

      I’d say the odyssey is the most reliable long term since the Kia and Chrysler competitors don’t have good reliability history. Especially the Chrysler PHEV which has had a lot of problems. I would get the odyssey or the sienna over those any day. The cons of the sienna is less power and slower acceleration except maybe at higher elevation when it has help from the battery compared to NA v6. Plus with higher mileage, you might have to start worrying about battery or ecvt replacement which I’m sure wouldn’t be cheap. Another con is availability since it’s very hard to find and the waitlists are long. Last con is it’s made for families and if you have to fill up all 8 seats, the XLE is the only one you can get whereas you get an Elite Odyssey with 8 seats. The obvious pro is the mpg compared to the V6 competitors so you have to decide if the wait is worth it and how going to keep it

    There is nothing good about this hybrid engines, drives a crv hybrid and there's nothing to be desired. They will get you a good 38 to 39 mpg but not fun to drive on highway or cruising speeds, sat in one of the sienna and power delivery and road noise was unbearable, like the engine sound was unbearable. The crv hybrid tho was not as bad as the Sienna
