I just want to let you all know how happy I was with the Pristine Cut. I didn't think anyone was going to top the Thorn but then Happily Ever After happened. That story alone is worth the price of the game, let alone everything else. Thank you for making me fall in love with this game all over again
Thorn is still top of the pile for me, I think, but definitely not by anywhere near as much. Happily Ever After absolutely gives it a run for its money, with The Princess And The Dragon coming in a surprisingly close third. The new routes are all absolutely phenomenal, though.
I, for one, am a fan of the super zoomed in background while you're looking at the mirror. It reveals the artifice of the world in an interesting way I feel
What all of you did with the original game was simply ART, and somehow, you improved it with the Pristine Cut. You deserve every word of praise you get for it, and I hope those aid you in your future pursuits.
25:00 what do yall *mean* you’ve never heard of gripping and ripping???? HOW??? Basically it just means to grab something very hard and pull with no care for accuracy or precision. As in, you aren’t going to make a clean cut, you just gripping and start pulling with a LOT of force bc your intent is to just get the thing apart So in this context, when she was singing for the tracks, she didn’t use precision or care but instead went full force into the takes and came out with some very powerful tracks as a result.
I cannot express to you how much I love this game. At the time I found it I was feeling very stuck and depressed. I didn’t find enjoyment in anything and it was hard to find the motivation for my art (which I used to enjoy) and finding this game truly changed everything. The artwork immediately had me captivated, I was addicted to just staring at it. Finding a game with so much detailed and complex art reawakened the love I felt for drawing. Ever since I played the game, I drew these characters over and over and over again. Whether it was a full body 5 hour sketch, or just a bunch of doodles at the top of my notebook at school. Drawing the princesses brought the joy of art back into my life. And watching you draw, and recognizing the amount of effort you pour into your art is so inspiring to me. This game’s extensive lore, characters, music, and art changed my life. Drawing is no longer a chore, it is a second nature to me. Drawing comes to me as easily as breathing now. And I cannot thank you enough for this beautiful masterpiece you have created 💖
watching for the first time since catching it live, and as soon as brandon drops "grippin and rippin" for the first time, knowing he will not know peace for the next five hours of his life
Played it last winter and man… one of my favorite games ever this game is beautiful i hope you guys come up with a game that can struck as much of an emotional cord that slay the princess did for me An absolute masterpiece
Also you're so right about how Game Theory took on the game...I commented over there that it was really never a good game for them. They enjoy following breadcrumb stories and putting together puzzle pieces of plot, like in the old FNAF games. STP spells out what's going on at the end. There's no hidden lore to find, just character work and thought exercises. And I think they may have liked it but they were so focused on Lore they just couldn't let themselves get invested.
Thank you so much for investing into Polish translation, now I get to share the game that I love so dearly with my friends that aren't fluent in English
Gosh..I just played through paths of the pristine cut, and all of the routes add so much depth to all the characters!! The art and voice acting is beautiful, and your storytelling is amazing. Thank you for bringing this masterpiece into the world. It really helped me feel better about death, which I was morbidly afraid of for a pretty long period of time. idk lol. ^>^
The Adversary/Tower division makes sense when you think about it lol. “I want a version of the Princess that’s TOUGH AS HELL but still my equal because that means I’m TOUGH AS HELL”
After Princess and Dragon, I would love an expansion where the decider stays in the princess and you experience the other routes through her eyes, feeling what she feels and influencing her choices like an advisor. Maybe even with rng reactions from the Long Quiet.
It was so amazing being a part of this livestream (Even though I was in school for some of it lol). The planets aligned perfectly for this very moment.
This game is such a weird case... It is a Horror game, and I hate horror, yet I like this game. It has a lot of gore, which I really dislike, but I don't have any problem with it in this game. From the way it's structured, it feels like I should feel existencial dread, but I don't. This game has so many things, that go against my preferences, but for some reason I love it. I love it to the point, where, ever since I first saw it, I felt the wish to use it as a setting for my TTRPG group to play in, but don't know how I could make it work. The narrative is kinda depending on the visuals, as seen with The Fury, where the description doesn't differ from those before, but the visuals changed from a path in the woods to a path through gore, and I can't think of a way to do this at a gaming table. The protagonist consists of just one person, yet you have the narrator, the hero, and all the others in addition to the player, and only one opponent, which is what makes this work, but is impossible to do (justice) at a gaming table. I deeply wish to bring this unique experience at my table, but don't know how to translate it from digital to analogue without loosing practically everything, that makes it so unique.
Holy Shit! As a new player its actually insane hearings the narrator and princess in a live stream. EDIT: To add: Abby is such a treasure! EDIT 2: PLEASE put Scarlet Hollow on Consoles aswell! (When its finished)
Ok, Tower being low rated is a crime. Probably my number 1 chapter 2, both for having interesting dynamics and for..... Reasons 😳.... Which is funny because apotheosis doesn't read as horny at all to me. In a good way to be clear, they are less like looking at a person than at a force of nature. I love it and found it as a great punctuation to finish off your choices in the Tower.
There's an underrated book that seems up y'all's alleys, called Their Brilliant Careers by Ryan O'Neill. Basically it's a series of biographies of made-up Australian authors, whose stories intersect in ways that kinda require some inference and digging around. It's sometimes dark and sometimes funny and almost always satirical. Funnily enough it was recommended to me by Alan Moore, of all people.
I really hope to see Princess in Dead by Daylight as a survivor, that would fit so much, and her perks could reflect her own killing nature to help her grip n rip through matches!
Man... if I end up having to VA the Princess on stream with my friend (who is likely doing the Hero/Narrator) I am worried my voices won't be different between each LOL
A adore these live voicings for the game. Unfortunately I've missed both of them live because I'm in Aus, but if you do another live voicing for rhe next anniversary, that'd be so cool. You could even turn off the soundtrack and have Brandon Boone play piano/organ/synth(violin) and Amelia Jones do the vocals live! No idea if rhat is logistically feasible, just so cool conceptually.
we need grippin and rippin in the pristine cut 2
