    Got mine 2 seasons ago. Absolute little ripper and for the money, it's a steal! Cuts better than my 32cc echo. Leaks bar oil and gas ....but for the money I dont give 2 shits! It's so handy for marking my firewood lengths on a downed tree. Stick in one hand, saw in the other. With my full size saw its put stick down on trunk, grab saw with 2 hands and mark and repeat. Saves so much time. Great limbing saw too! Starts, runs, and holds a tune reliably.....100% recommended for the price!

    been using this saw for 2 years, bought it delivered for $100 on sale off amazon. Acutally had vendor support because there were zero instruction on how to tune it and the oiler was going crazy. They sent me tuning instructions. after watching this video went out to see if it would start for year 3 cleanup. Started right up and cleaned up some palo verdes of suckers. I used this on mesquite which is crazy hard and eats chains like crazy. Never even sharpended the chain yet. An yes it is a chicom saw. I originally bought it as a throwaway but it has supprised me. My local small engine guy won't work on it...just because so its up to me. May start to add a bar and chain and do some mods, not like I have a warranty so why not

      There's a video of a guy who upgrades the bar/to make it cut way better

      @@weswilliams8432 can you post a link, it needs a better chain and bar but I don't even know what model it is comparable to

    cool deal, never thought to look up "cheapest top handle" saws for a project. Maybe this would benefit from a narrower kerf bar?

      It's funny you mentioned that this morning was pricing out a 12" bar for 1/4" 0.043 chain, and oddly this top handle has a rim drive sprocket

    hey thanks Kevin for the heads up on these cheap saws. i picked one up for some Hurricane Fiona clean up work and it ran pretty well - but I think it could use an OEM carb. Do you know by chance what OEM carb they cloned for this saw?

    • @chainsawcanuck
      @chainsawcanuck  2 роки тому +2

      Walbro WT carb, which I used in even the bigger clones

    • @jbbolts
      @jbbolts Рік тому

      It's a Zenoah clone

      @@chainsawcanuck it’s not a walbro WT I’ve seen people claim that it is but if you can find me a carb kit, I’d love to see it. I spent a full day, looking at Zama Walbro, and even Tillotson carb kit. I cannot find the exact same diaphragms as I have.
      Unless I have some oddball carb that nobody else has, maybe I do because you’re seems to run really good compared the way mine was.

    • @chainsawcanuck

      @Indeewoods it's a walbro wt, but can buy a whole carb for less than 15$ to your door

      @@chainsawcanuck so yours actually says Walbro WT on it? Because if it’s like mine, it is not a wall bro WT trust me on this one. I just spent 24 hours studying it lol if it is, I can’t find the diaphragm kit for it.

    Just bought one of these as a quick clearing limb cutting saw for a job coming up. Boss will be using a Stihl MS661. I'll be doing ground work with this and a 18inch husky. After this job I wanna mod it.... any suggestions?
    1. Carbs
    2.Muffler Mod
    Anything else you can think of? Thanks in advance!

      Muffler mod helped, tune carb, I might port mine at some point. But definitely do a muffler mod

      What does it mean to port? I’ve had a Stihl 170 that was stock before it got stolen. I am think of buying this saw because it’s a top handle

      Grind the throttle shaft and screw heads almost flat. Biggest difference ever on the 25cc saws

    Was that an eBay find for $100? I want to get a cheap saw like that to port, just to see what I could get out of it. I bet with just a small amount of port work and lighten the piston some and that would make that a whole different animal

    • @chainsawcanuck
      @chainsawcanuck  Рік тому +1

      I got it for just over 100 on amazon.ca, Charles Briscoe ported one, but after hearing what he had to say I'm not sure if I'd port one

    I just bought one of these knock offs, I have my good saws and I thought for some quick work this would work. For a 100 bucks if it dies after a year of off and on use get another one.

      The knockoff are not bad, have a few different ones and they seem good quality, only issues I've had is the recoils

    Hi mate was wondering still using this saw? How is it holding up?
    Also any difference in power with the mod done? After using it after awhile?

    • @chainsawcanuck

      Yeah I still use it, and it still impresses me.
      The muffler mod definitely gave it more grunt, here is a link to my 18 month review ua-cam.com/video/qDqcUj_YnXU/v-deo.html

      I have 4 25cc saws. The vmodest, 2 neotech, and one blue one like the neotech. I ground the throttle shaft flat and the screw heads and choke shaft flat also. The performance difference was incredible.

    There are too many other variables. Sharpness of chain, wear of rakers, oiling, consistency of wood (it's organic, Man!) time of day, earth's tilt on its axis, whether anybody greased that axis, first-run rust on the chain rails, etc. It's best to jury-rig a little dyno and cobble together a differential testing procedure. Doesn't have to be horsepower ... like the old O&R engines you can call it chicken power ... just test the difference.

    • @chainsawcanuck
      @chainsawcanuck  Рік тому +1

      I just like to keep it simple, 2 cuts 20 minutes apart is good enough for me, same peied of wood cut 1/2" apart, backyard dynos suffer the same variables
