Love this video cause it shows that being a designer is more about your mind and creativity, aesthetic etc. rather than what you wear, he has a very basic outfit but designs special clothing
if i was rich i would wear his clothes literally everyday including buying his entire menswear collections especially the SS15
Actually find it quite interesting that he dresses so casual and with those shoes arguably unfashionable. To me I see his outfit(s) and think he puts every ounce of his creative thought into the brand he is working on and not himself.
That what I like about creaters they normal but they very important when you get pass these celebrities and bs and finds some like this you be inspired by it
Some designers are simply like that; they more or less have an understanding of their brand (or brands they handle), so much so that they know that it's not for them personally, and that's a valid thing. Of course there's also the supposed opposite where the designer literally wears their own designs and products, perhaps because, to an extent, it was also for themselves as part of the market in mind for their brand... like Coco Chanel, for instance.

Watching the room where the clothing is constructed is interesting. I would enjoy seeing more video about the sewing process, because after all that’s what makes everything work. Also, the design. He wants to brand to last for a long time, which is my favorite thing that he said. Personally I would prefer a garment that was so impeccable and timeless that I could wear it for decades.
Fashion people like to sound smarter than they are by adding in "kind of" in front of nouns. "It was a kind of room". So it was or it wasn't?

Voice of a smoker. I know two heavy smokers who sound exactly like Anderson. (Look at image at 1:01)
As for beauty tips, smoking will turn a pretty face into a furrowed moonscape much like the one Keith Richards acquired with his own vices.
BTW: how much seed money does someone need to start a business such as the one Jonathan runs? This studio has a very expensive look about it.
He reminds of many people who work in fashion. He smokes, the way he talks, he always seems a bit stressed. It's interesting how an industry can have so many similar 'types' of people

I bought my first and only one JW Anderson dress shown at NYFW, (not necessary to say which season I think) however, when it came I was almost shocked at the quality of the material, the fit was pretty OK, but the material did give you an uneasy feeling, it is like you lost your appetite, you spend money on a very expensive dress and expect a nice thing, I kept saying "is this it? really?" For me never again JW Anderson!!!

some designers prefer to distance themselves from their work/profession so they can create a product that they have no attachment to. and when you're someone managing TWO labels and excelling at it you really have no time to obsess over what you're wearing.

Then take off everything you own, and go naked, because one hundred percent of what you wear is a collaborative result of both men and women working together.

Elephants Fly honestly there is no point discussing this with you - but I work in a male dominated industry and its not that women cant do the same job but that men don't let women progress in this field - and if you are going to be naive and pretend that this doesn't happen in the fashion industry you are silly - dont you know this industry is super competitive and you have to go above and beyond to get to the top not just being the best - there are many talented people but only the few that know the right folks/go to the right parties and have the right sex interests that get to the top - by the way how is a gay guy able to tell me whats hot on me or not - sorry - I really don't think he has much input - whatever
