Since I recently contributed to Apple's retirement fund with the purchase of a new iPhone, case, wallet, battery, Airpods Max, and M1 Macbook, and a new iPad, I cannot think of anything I need now. LOL!
@@TheAppleBias LOL! BTW, sorry about the Mini’s battery. The Beta excuse doesn’t hold water. Also, I think you’re not using the battery pack the right way. It’s doing wonders for me with a Max Pro. I think maybe your Mini has battery drainage issues based on what you mention here. I use my battery pack when my Max is at 20% and I get about 8 hours of heavy duty with 5G.
The iPhone 12 mini’s battery life is already terrible so as long as the phone isn’t shutting down randomly who cares? You pretty much have to keep it plugged into an external battery all the time.
I can finally say I am in the same position as you. I hit 89 percent as of today and I have owned my iPhone 12 mini since April 16 of last year. The battery life isn’t as good as it used to be (given that I can be dead in 1-2 hrs) in some instances. Take care of your batteries everyone! Don’t overcharge your phone like I did and use it on Max brightness. That will drain the battery life fast
I absolutely love my 12 mini too, I’ve had mine 16 months now, I’ve recently noticed the battery life is getting a lot worse, it runs down so much quicker, I’m due a free upgrade next month, I’m probably gonna get the iPhone 13 or 14
I've had my iphone 6s for almost 2 years and its at 80%. But mind you it is a refurbished iphone. And I'm upgrading to an iphone 12 mini. So this is helpful thank you.
Thats exactly what I did. Biggest difference to me is the camera lol. The rest is pretty ehhhh...can’t get use to how hot it gets with regular usage as compared to iphone 6s.
I got my iPhone 12 mini like December 2020 and now my battery life is at 87% after playing too much game too! The battery is great. After it come below 90 it takes a lot of time to go down a percent
My iPhone 11 pro max is at 84% after 22 months. Thinking about getting the 13 mini 256gb. I usually get the max model but until Im alive, I think i Must try everything once. Any inputs/suggestions are appreciated. (secondary phone is s20)
I just replaced the battery in mine. I have had it for 2.5 years. The battery was at 77% before I replaced it. I am 6’1”+ and the mini is the correct size for my hands. I hope with the 16 they can tune the new chipset way down to prioritize efficiency and make a mini with all day battery life.
@@TheAppleBias the Apple Store employee at Corte Madera who said he had been are Apple for nearly a decade and owned a 13 with a cracked screen protector said he didn’t think it was coming back. The mini goes against the Apple customer experience. I may understand that a physically smaller phone has a physically smaller potential battery than anything that is larger than it. I may understand that in a 3D space a 2’ deep swimming pool that has a diameter of 5.4 feet (143 cubic feet) holds about 65% of the volume of a 6.7’ diameter pool (221 cubic feet). The appeal of Apple products is that you don’t need to be logical to make their devices work well. Too many mini customers wasted Apple’s time trying to fix their phone’s battery problem. It clearly had a problem, the screen was 20% smaller than a 12max and the battery capacity was 40% smaller.
Thinking of going from XSMAX to mini. This will date me but in the 90s, the tiny Motorola phone was the most wanted phone. Fit in a shirt pocket. Loved mine.
12 Mini at 17 months, 83% battery health. Never used magsafe, always use a 5w Apple charger. Someone below stated that Apple claims 1% loss per month "is normal", so it looks like I am right on the money. At 20 months I'll be at 80%. Clearly they have changed all this because we all have used older generation iphones for many more years with less affect on battery health. I went from an iPhone 7 to my 12 Mini. My 7 was at 79%. So it looks like now it will be standard procedure to replace your Apple iPhone battery every other year. $70 at an Apple store is still better than buying a new phone, but.....not thrilled.
I also wonder if the degradation of the battery slows down at some point cause usually people with multiple year old phone are still at least on the 70% area.
2 years late, but heres some advice for ANYONE regarding electronics that have batteries : Try and keep your battery between 20% - 70% (max charge), its MUCH BETTER for your batteries health, thus your device health and enjoyment of that device. All of these devices should come with charge limit options (Lenovo is doing this w/some of their stuff) in their Settings
I bought XS last September and I still have 100% battery capacity. All I do to the battery is that I don't charge it over 80% and don't discharge it below 30%. Maybe this works to keep the battery healthy for a long time.
@@m-stat9 That's not how it works, mate. Before you call anyone dumb you should think twice. Not everyone have to live your world. And besides that the battery life is good enough for my daily use and if I know that I want my phone to last longer I fully charge it once in a while when desired. And what's the benefit of 100%? Well, I get to enjoy healthy battery for the whole period of having the phone. Isn't that enough? And with every phone I don't know when I'm gonna upgrade because the updates are mediocre at best. How many times did you complain about bad battery health in your phone? Or how many people do you know that had to replace the battery?
I have had my iphone 12 mini for almost 3 months, yet my battery life is still 100%. And I use it a fair bit. I always charge it with the cable on my computer. I heard that using magsafe isn't so... safe for your battery.
They don’t sell it anymore but they haven’t discontinued support for it. As of right now apple will still replace the battery in an iPhone 5s. Now they are raising the battery replacement cost by $20 starting in march.
@@TheAppleBias really iphone 5s? It was my first iphone before i change to iphone 12 mini. Iphone 5s is the reason why i chose iphone 12 mini at first place (similiar design and size) btw i bought it in january 2021 and battery health is 76 percent, better hurry up to replace the battery before they increase the price, btw thanks for reply, such a relief to hear
My iphone 12 mini, started using around mid Jan 2021, as of start of Jan 2022, battery health is at 85%. Do not use Magsafe. Felt the degradation is really fast. I do charge it overnight sometimes (around 3-4 days a week) usually from
I contacted Apple and same thing except Ive only had my 13 mini for a out 6-8 months and Im at 88%. Never had a iPhone drop under 90% in under a year. Same usage. Is usually change battery after 2 years at 85% but this is crazy!
I was thinking of getting the 12 mini because the size and just the look seem to fit my needs but one thing I was really stuck on was battery, after seeing these comments about the battery life and how the battery health has degraded overtime I’m glad i got the 12💜
I still love my mini. I switched to the 13 mini and it’s battery health has seemed better. But either way love the size of this phone and it’s worth it.
I'm still rocking the og iPhone SE that I bought in Feb 2018. Battery health is at 73%. It lasts a decent amount of time for the age and size of battery. HOWEVER, the battery completely drains once ambient temps reach the 50s and the colder the temps, the quicker it will shut down and once down to a certain temp, it doesn't turn on at all until the phone warms up. I went to the Apple store to replace the battery at the advertised $49 price. But they said (and failed to contact my sister's phone after the diagnostics) the phone has water damage and will cost an additional $200 to repair. They wouldn't replace the battery without fixing the water damage. With a new battery, I could use this phone for 2 more years with little issue. It's still snappy and takes great pics/vids.
That bites about them not replacing the battery without fixing the water damage, you could try replacing it yourself. ifixit.com has some awesome repair manuals.
It seems Apple batteries just don't last as long as some Android ones. I just want a phone that'll last at least 3 years, and I'm not so sure the iPhone 12mini will. I don't want to have to carry a power bank with me everywhere or have to use one of those bulky phone cases with built-in battery.
@@Harigan No I usually charge my phone in my car on the way to work(the USB ports in my car support fast charging) and then I’ll charge my phone again in my car when I’m on my lunch break. So I’m kinda always in the 30-80% range
Amazing stats. Yeah I charge my randomly all the time as a developer I have to have it plugged in to load apps easier, which I am sure as to why I am so low. But this has been my lifestyle for the last 9 years.
The battery health disparity is perplexing. Perhaps those sill showing 100% may have faulty battery health detectors? Or they rarely use resource intensive app, have low power mode on all the time, use optimal charging, live in a warmer climate, and keep the screen super dim?
I didn't believed anyone who's saying that 12mini battery is that bad...I was planning to buy 12mini...my last iphone was 11...and on standby I don't know on ios16 it drains so much battery so I just sold and bought 11 3 to 4 times still I wasn't satisfied with the 11 touch wasn't that smooth and battery wasn't also that good on ios16 I had to charge it 2 times if I'm using it continuously....as I was saying in my country 11pro/11/12mini have almost kind of same price so next I was planning to buy 12 mini....but thankfully I think I was lucky I saw your video + I'm reading the comments that everyone's 12 mini battery health is decreasing way faster as compared to other phones....so now I have changed my plan 🥺😶
Yeah I really love the mini. But hated how the battery health dropped so fast the 13 mini held up a bit better. I still think the size was worth the trade offs.
My mini is 14 month old, for 12 month i've had it at 100%, and the day i lost one-year apple warranty i also lost 1% of the batter life. And just in 2 month I already lost 9% and currently am at 91%... I am not a heavy user, mostly use it for calls and messengers. Love the phone, but not the battery.
Sorry to hear that. Have you noticed the phone getting hotter? That’s the only thing I can think that would hurt the battery that fast. Good thing is that the mini is only $70 to replace the battery so that’s one thing to keep in mind.
As a 12 mini user, i find the battery terrible after 7 months of use, i have 93% health after normal use! It was the only phone in stock at the store… i should of waited till the pro was in stock. I am stuck in a 2 YEAR contract.
don't worry about battery percentages. epl uses battery drain algorithm to force users to change battery or phone later. all company for mobile phones do this. software algorithm shows false battery condition
I doubt they show false. No way people would let apple get away with that. They love trying to make apple looks bad I mean just look at what happened the last time apple did something with the phones battery
Gone through Apple’s guidelines and according to officials 1% battery health degradation per month is normal. Based on this formula all new iPhones should last 20 months only till they reach at 80% of battery health capacity while Im still having my iPhone7 battery health at 85%. How?
I’ve had my 12 mini since November of 2020 and the battery is at 85 % which isn’t that bad im debating if I should get a new battery when it drops below 80 or upgrade to the 13 mini. My only problem is i charge it at night than i end up charging it for an hour during my days at work which honestly isn’t to bad but it seems like if im using my phone heavy it definitely dies very quick
If at all possible I would recommend waiting for the 13. Battery is better and the health seem to last longer. So it will last you more years than the 12 mini will.
I had my iPhone SE for 3yrs and traded it in at 91% capacity. I’ve had my 12 mini for 11mo now, and it’s at 88%. Something’s not right here… apparently iOS 15.1 has silently fixed the “capacity algorithm”.
@@TheAppleBias I’ve heard rumors that charging w MagSafe degrades the battery faster? I’ve seen some vids/ comments on it even tho apple or other search claims otherwise. I hear it’s cause of the heat of the phone when wirelessly fast charging it. My mom has had the iPhone 11 for 8 months so far and she’s still at %100 health capacity and that’s her daily driver. Either the 12 series has much more of an accurate battery health or it simply was made poorly & drains quicker. I’m just wondering cause I literally just got this phone last month and I did notice it draining faster for the past couple of days 😳 vs when I first got it.
The mini has held up great for me day to day. I went from the 12 mini to the 13 mini just because I loved the form factor so much. I have the MagSafe battery pack on super heavy usage days. When I had both the pro and the mini I found that there are some days where neither of their batteries are going to be enough for me to make it through a day. So I might as well have a sized phone I enjoy. Also mini chargers up way faster too. Less battery to charge up.
@@TheAppleBias That's exactly what I'm doing too. I have the Galaxy Note 10 Plus and I bought it for the battery life, but even now the battery life im barely getting 5 hours of screen on time. So if the Pixel 6a and/or the iPhone 12 mini can do 5 hours or more of screen on time, also at a price range of under 500, ALSO a great compact size. It's basically a no brainer to get the smaller phone. Especially because I use my 12" tablet to watch movies and game, I just need my phone to be a good phone and that's really it. Battery life, brightness, and convenience is what it's all about for me. I don't need all the crazy bells and whistles that I'll never use because it's just gonna drain the battery even more lol!
Yeah I’d probably keep an eye on the used 13 mini market here soon. Obviously you’ll want to ask about battery health of the device and want it in the high 90% but the 13s battery was better than the 12s. And with the new phones dropping soon there is a good chance people will be selling their old ones.
@@TheAppleBias Oh for sure Thats what ill do then. Ill use the Pixel 6a until the line of 14s come out and then try to snag a cheaper 13 mini. Even for new ones the price should drop a bit too i would hope. Great idea, Appreciate it!
No problem. Rumor is the mini size is going away with the 14s which bites. So I’m thinking I’ll keep my 13 but I am sure there will still be a bunch hitting the market right before and after the 14 line drops
I broke and ended up with the 14 pro cause with my kids sports the zoom lens is nice to have. If I could go back I would I loved the 13 mini. Nah as far as no case that is fully up to how much risk you’re willing to take.
this battery thing is insane. after yeeeears of use my iphone 6 has 76% battery health. Just got the 12mini to replace it. Love the design, but hope the battery doesn't cut the honeymoon short.
So far so good, really digging it. Just checked and the battery’s at 89% (worrisome, no lie) but as far as day to day use it doesn’t feel like it’s dying before its time. I mostly use IG, Camera, Maps, and some browsing. In cold temps my old phone would freeze and die in my pocket. This one hasn’t done that yet.
@@mo-kw6pe ohhh, the rumors were true then the battery health deteriorates quickly. I still used my iPhone 8 plus for 3 years plus so far, battery health 82%. I think I will wait for the 13 mini prices to decrease. Anyways, the 12 mini looks so nice !
Small batteries do degrade faster for one obvious reason; you go through battery cycles faster. So, with the same usage you had previously and if your previous phone had a larger battery, you could, hypothetically, go through 4 battery cycles a week, while with the 12 mini you'd go potentially through 7 battery cycles a week (a battery cycle is charging the battery from 0-100%, whether in one go or in increments). As you know, the more battery cycles, the lower the battery health (most batteries last about 500 cycles, after which they'd need replacement), so it makes sense that the 12 mini would have less battery health compared to the larger phones of the 12 series (or previous phones you had with larger batteries) after a year because, based on the above hypothetical scenario, you would have had 364 battery cycles on the 12 mini and 208 cycles on a larger battery phone by the end of the year.
@@TheAppleBias While the relative lack of space to dissipate heat in the iPhone 12 mini compared to, say, the regular iPhone 12 would make the former slightly warmer while charging, the difference in temperature is negligible and wouldn't be the cause of the lesser battery health on the 12 mini. Case in point: your own experience with the iPhone 13 mini; it's about the same size as the 12 mini and heats up to about the same level when charging (per notebookcheck), but you ended up with a better battery health because of the larger battery in the 13 mini needing fewer battery cycles than the 12 mini for the same usage.
Yeah but I also think using a 3 party battery pack on the 12 that continued to charge the device no matters it’s current temperature also played into it where with the 13 I used apples that slows and stops charging when the device gets hotter. I agree that battery size plays one of the larger factors. But I do also think there can be others.
@@TheAppleBias If you were using a battery pack much more often on the 12 mini than on the 13 mini, then that could've played a factor in the lesser battery health of the former. However, many others are reporting lower than average battery health for the 12 mini after 1 or 2 years of use and the higher than average battery cycles their phones went through is probably the main reason behind that. There is a way to check the exact number of battery cycles your iPhone has and it would've been interesting to compare than number on the 12 mini and the 13 mini after a year of use if you still has the former.
I bought my 12mini 7 months ago.. i have no idea why people have been complaining about 12 mini's battery life. I get 10-11 hours avg SOT ( with 1 charge ) daily since last 7 months and my battery health is still 99% right now after 7 months. Update: The battery health now is 90%.. degraded heavily after ios15 idk why and what happened.. but now with 90% battery health it lasts around 7 to 7 and a half hours of SOT for me!
I did my calculations he used 75mah of lifespan of his battery but you used 245mah of battery that's a big diffrence, if both had same usage yours would be at 96.6
My iphone 6s plus original battery lasted for 3 years until it was like 70% and then I went to get the battery swapped. And now 3 years after the battery swap, it's sitting at 76%. Li-on batteries degrade with use, it is what it is, of course how you use and charge the battery affects its lifespan. Ideally you wouldn't want to charge it to 100% and let it go to 0%, but let it sit between 15-80% charge. I wonder if faster charging rates affect a batteries lifespan.
I have the 12 mini. In the morning I disconnect the charger at 100%. Then I commute, work, commute back home. By rhe time I get home I have spent like 2,5 hours of screen on time (mostly Reddit, web browsing and a little bit of messenger) and still has 60% left. So it good. You can probably get 5,5 hours of active use before charge level hits 15%. If you wanna kill it I think it could withstand 6+ hours but I never had the nerves to use my phone that much. Hope it helps
Ive had my iPhone 12 mini 9 months and the battery health is 88%…contacted apple support and they were like, “ ya, thats fine and normal” ….crazy. Disappointing. I like the phone otherwise. I have smaller hands, so its much easier to hold
@@TheAppleBias I doesnt hold a charge very long. I have apple music and bluetooth it to a JBL speaker or my airpods..drains it down pretty fast. Out of all the iphones ive had going back to the iphone …this is by far the worst battery experience. I had the iphone XR before this..
bought mine yesterday for 21k PHP (379USD) with 87%. It'll last roughly 10 hours with minimal usage. Well, that's what you get for wanting a smaller phone that fits your hand.
MagSafe battery is pretty awesome getting you through longer days away from a charger and as it decreases I know in the US the battery replacement cost isn’t too crazy expensive.

does the charger wattage affect the degradation in some way? I think that if I charge a battery with 5w or 10w charger maybe its health doesn't degrade so fast
I can’t say for sure. I know just letting it sit on a charger after it’s fully charged isn’t good for it. But apple has implemented stuff to try to help that. I know my phone stops charging at night for a while until around 3am just to hold off.
@@TheAppleBias hey FYI, leaving the phone connected after reaching 100% is actually not harmful…..it’s the process of getting there which is bad Here’s a simple explanation: getting under 20% or higher than 80% battery causes faster battery decade. Extended explanation: ion-lithium batteries works by allowing electrons to flow through its “gapped-structure”. And in nature, like all things, the battery dislike unbalance (ie. tension in its structure), so keeping the electrons (battery level) at half level is optimal for the battery’s structural integrity, and thus extending the battery’s life. However in reality, it’s impossible to maintain a 50% charge forever, so a simple advice is to avoid the “extremes” to prevent putting too much pressure (over 80%) and tension (under 20%) to it. I hope that clears it up. Cheers
Generally speaking, yes it does. Though we’re talking about circumstances where Android phones charge at 60+ Watts. iPhones with their powerinput would not really feel degradation because of that.
@@mr_niceman actually reaching 100% is harmful because while yes the phone stops charghing after 100% , what can happen is for example you charge 8 hours a phone, the phone reaches 100% after 4 hours, maybe in the 4 hours left of charging the phone drops 1% every 1 hour of idle , so that s 4 more % of charge that is not good for the battery
Awesome video. I have been looking for a video like this as I’m also using the same phone (same colour as yours too). I don’t want to sound creepy too but my battery health is also at 88%. I guess the battery is small and you would have to charge it often, which also means that the battery cycle reaches the sub 90% faster? I really love this phone, but the thought of having to change the battery less than a year after purchasing it really concerns me.
My 12 mini has 90% battery health after 1 year exactly and my 8 which I had upgraded from also had 90% but after 3 years of using it. I never use the betas.
I used to have an iPhone SE (2016) after 3 years the battery was at 86% capacity, I’ve had my 12 mini for 10 months and I’m at 89%. I’m debating moving to android because of the bad battery.
Why would the battery cause you to move to android? Yeah 12 mini bites battery wise 13 mini was way better still less than the larger ones of course. But that’s just how batteries work.
@@TheAppleBias mine is 5hr 13min and I really want the pro because it has pro motion but they are really big screens and mini battery isn't good apparently haha
I just got a refurbished 12 mini for under £200. Really happy with it. It's not my main phone so I just use it for phone calls and occasionally check out UA-cam but for how I use it I'm happy with the battery. I mostly play UA-cam videos on my note 9 when out and about and use my original SE to play my music when I'm out and about and run my day to day apps like Fitbit or bank apps because of the finger print scanner.
@@TheAppleBias I only noticed it when I watch a movie on it. After two hours, it’s like 30% left. I thought it would be at least 60%. It’s not bad compared to my 6S. Holy smokes.

I did not think it was going to be this bad since I expected better quality from apple the price tag. 95% of the time I wire charge my phone. I don’t use MagSafe
Yeah I heard the MagSafe hurts your battery health thing was bogus. Hate that it’s dropped that low for you! Hopefully you can get it replaced fairly easily.
I love the form factor and the weight, but battery life and overheating are a nightmare. This phone is for casual consumer user. No way to use this as a professional. If i’m driving and making callf for work I must connect it to the charger. It overheats and voilà, suddenly no phone calls and worse no maps… Same if you dare to record and post some kind of video. And not to be forgotten, if it overheats, the overall speed and power drops too. Sorry bud, nice video, but if I saw some kind of honest review on this phone I would have bought a big one.
Sounds like yours may have a defect. Yeah mine got hot some. But never had it shutdown or not work. I filmed a lot of 4k video in the heat of summer and things too.
I have so many questions. What kind of case did you have? Were you leaving your phone in direct sunlight? I FaceTime while moving through Spotty connections and the phone doesn’t get hot or noticeably drain. I use the hotspot to run 4 streaming devices at once and it doesn’t heat up.
@@TheAppleBias the thing is , that the battery health is only like 80 or so but I never really take it anywhere because it dies in an hour or 2 🫤 idk why tho
@jeffrysalazar4479 it’s be a pain but you could try wiping it and setting it up as brand new (not from backup). Just make sure you iCloud backup on for all your iCloud data so pictures and everything come back. If it’s a weird software bug causing the drain that should fix it.
That’s insane I’ve had my iPhone 12 mini since release day on November 13, 2020 and as of right now my iPhone 12 mini has 89% battery health on it right now that’s bizarre!
I would recommend the 13 mini over regular 13. Only reason to get a larger phone is if you want the extra camera and other feature. I don’t think battery is worth the larger screen. My opinion.
I think I would get the iPhone 13 mini because it may be the last year they make a small form factor phone. So I may keep the 12 mini and replace the battery and get the 13 mini and have it on hand to switch if I need too have a secondary phone!

If you are asking which to go with I vote 12 mini over 11. My wife has the 11 I don’t like the feel of it in the hands. I much prefer the flat sides and the smaller phone of the 12 and 13 mini.
Doubt it’s beta, I got mine on new year which also mark today 10 month. My 12 mini battery is currently on 88% health. Smaller battery died quicker as u said, 13mini should be better, 90% at one year mark I’d say

That’s where MagSafe batteries. Could save the day. If I were you I’d buy the 13 mini and a couple 3rd party ones off Amazon and you’ll have more than double the size of the 11pro max battery life.
Yeah the more you have to charge a device usually means the less battery health you have. If it drops under 80% in the first year Apple should replace it for free. Otherwise Apple charges $70 to replace it out of warranty.
I think Steve Jobs would never have allowed for iphones to explode in size like they did. I have a mini and would get the new one with larger battery. The 13 mini with the 15 bionic would definitely be the one to get.
I don’t know for sure if the 13 is really worth it. I doubt battery is much larger if any. They just improved battery with new screen tech. And they also never said how much faster the a15 is over last years. They just referred to it being 50% faster than competitors. With that wording I’d say it’s probably less that 20% maybe even 10% faster than the 12.

I'm still wondering what Apple actually thinking about the iPhone battery life? I know 13 series was a great battery models, well that's because of past models are shit ..maybe this is a marketing plan, they wants every iPhone users to buy the new models and clear the stocks
They are a company so their goal is always to try to get enough features and improvements to get people to upgrade every year. But battery is always the biggest hindrance to tech. Hopefully they will be a breakthrough in it soon to make it last longer.

I use my battery pack when my Max is at 20% and I get about 8 hours of heavy duty with 5G.
Yeah I have heard others with the max not having an issue as well. Not sure what is up. May have been a bad pack

Yeah the 13minis battery was a decent amount better than the 12. But the mini size will never match the larger phones. Just more room for battery.
But since the 12 we have a magnetic back, allowing for a small magnetic powerbank on it for some juice. pretty neat i’d say

@@TheAppleBias is 13 mini better battery health
Yeah I’m guessing the size of the battery impacts it, cause the 13 mini did have a little larger battery

Either the 12 series has much more of an accurate battery health or it simply was made poorly & drains quicker. would you say that an iphone12 mini is a good phone for your first phone??
Oh yeah it’d be a great first phone.
I'm not concerned about degrading, I'm concerned about how long the battery will last when it's brand new out of the box.

Anyways, the 12 mini looks so nice !
That’s what I noticed as well. Even though it was a lot less I still didn’t feel like I had to change up my routine to make it through a day.
Yes. Heat also plays a factor. Charging while my battery is hot def hurt their lifespan as well.

Yeah I am wondering if the faster charging effects things should be pretty noticeable with the watch if it does. With it having fast charging.
How long does it last for you with heavy use versus light use
I have the 12 mini. In the morning I disconnect the charger at 100%. Then I commute, work, commute back home. By rhe time I get home I have spent like 2,5 hours of screen on time (mostly Reddit, web browsing and a little bit of messenger) and still has 60% left. So it good. You can probably get 5,5 hours of active use before charge level hits 15%. If you wanna kill it I think it could withstand 6+ hours but I never had the nerves to use my phone that much. Hope it helps
I get about 4-5 hours as I'm a very heavy user haha. The only downside to the size is the battery for me.
Great and honest review bro loved it ❤️
Thanks.

Ive had my iPhone 12 mini 9 months and the battery health is 88%…contacted apple support and they were like, “ ya, thats fine and normal” ….crazy. Disappointing. I like the phone otherwise. I have smaller hands, so its much easier to hold
How’s it feel day to day can you tell the battery has reduced? Just curious.
Meant to saying going back to the iPhone 4
bought mine yesterday for 21k PHP (379USD) with 87%.
@@TheAppleBias thank you for this. Considering Magsafe as well. Do i need a Magsafe compatible case or do i need to remove the case every time I have to use it? Nonetheless, i love the phone!
Yeah unless the case is paper thin you’ll need a MagSafe case to use it without taking the case off.
Yeah I have had the 14 pro for this year and I am so close to saying goodbye to it and going back to the mini. I miss it so much.
I want to get a second-hand IPhone 12 mini or iphone 11 in 2024. Which one is good? please recommend

I personally think the mini is the best and the 13 mini has much better battery so I would say 13 mini.
IPhone 6-6years of use -75%percent.IPhone 7plus -around 5years of heavy use -75% battery.IPhone X -around 82% battery after 2years and iPhone 11 -86% battery after 1year and 2months.I’ve allready sold the 11 and bought an iPhone 12mini.The beste choice I’ve done.
Awesome congrats on getting the best size phone every made.
It's probably healthier to top up than let the battery bottom out or die which might be the case with smaller battery capacity.
Yeah you also did not want to leave it on the charger too long after it hits 100%
does the charger wattage affect the degradation in some way? I think that if I charge a battery with 5w or 10w charger maybe its health doesn't degrade so fast
I can’t say for sure. I know just letting it sit on a charger after it’s fully charged isn’t good for it. But apple has implemented stuff to try to help that. I know my phone stops charging at night for a while until around 3am just to hold off.
@@TheAppleBias hey FYI, leaving the phone connected after reaching 100% is actually not harmful…..it’s the process of getting there which is bad
Here’s a simple explanation: getting under 20% or higher than 80% battery causes faster battery decade.
I love my 12 mini but bought it 9 months ago and have 90% battery health, disappointing..
Yeah it bites.
How old is your battery now?
It is a cop out I'm not a developer had my mini for 10 months and I'm at 88%
Awesome video.
Yeah It’s a bummer but I’m hoping that the rest drops quickly so I can just get apple to swap it out for free under warranty.
My 12 pro is at 91%…..I think MagSafe f-ed it up
I think it did. I’ve been using mostly lightning charging and some wireless charging and my 12 pro is at 97%
May be something there I use MagSafe all the time.
lol thats strange
My 12 mini has 90% battery health after 1 year exactly and my 8 which I had upgraded from also had 90% but after 3 years of using it. I never use the betas.
That’s crazy that the 8 has done so well!
my 12 mini has 96% after 10 months could be better but i used to discharge it to 0% too ofthen. guess i'm lucky one
That’s amazing!
I have a 5 years old iPhone 7 with 85% battery health and now thinking to upgrade to iPhone 13 mini.
I’m gonna have to take a look at my original SE and see what it’s battery health is.
What’s your average screen time daily?
3hr and 3min
@@TheAppleBias mine is 5hr 13min and I really want the pro because it has pro motion but they are really big screens and mini battery isn't good apparently haha
Not that it isn’t good just not as large. I personally wouldn’t upgrade for promotion. I have it on my iPad and really can’t tell a difference.
Nice I miss my iPhone Mini, really wish apple would being the mini size back.
I have had my 12 mini for 14 months now and just hit 91% . I only charge with mag safe
Nice!
02:52 nope. I noticed it on my iPad too.
Probably take more years to really notice tho right? I’ve not noticed on mine.
@@TheAppleBias I only noticed it when I watch a movie on it. After two hours, it’s like 30% left. I thought it would be at least 60%. It’s not bad compared to my 6S. Holy smokes.
iPhone 12 mini 128 gb. 13 months at 86% battery health. I’m going to use consumer law to get it fixed or demand a refund for such a shitty product.
I'm a really light user, and I hate big phones, which is why the mini is perfect for me, even with the lighter battery.
I love the form factor and the weight, but battery life and overheating are a nightmare. This phone is for casual consumer user. No way to use this as a professional. If i’m driving and making callf for work I must connect it to the charger. It overheats and voilà, suddenly no phone calls and worse no maps…
Same if you dare to record and post some kind of video.
My iPhone Se-2 is 11 month old and is still at 100% battery life
That’s amazing.
Why don't you consider buying the regular 13 instead of mini? I'm in the same situation
I would go 13 Pro before I would buy the regular 13 if I have to deal with the hassle of the larger phone I'd want the benefits of the Pro features.
Good answer.
My iPhone mini 12 battery dies after 1 hour or 2 of watching vids and the fact that I charge it till 100% ,what can I do to fix it?
What’s the battery health? Go into settings app then battery then battery health. My guess would be it’s pretty low and may need replaced.

Seem like we have similar charging methods.
would you get the 13 or 13 mini?
I would recommend the 13 mini over regular 13. Only reason to get a larger phone is if you want the extra camera and other feature. I don’t think battery is worth the larger screen. My opinion.
I think I would get the iPhone 13 mini because it may be the last year they make a small form factor phone. So I may keep the 12 mini and replace the battery and get the 13 mini and have it on hand to switch if I need too have a secondary phone!

For me. Hands down the 12 mini.

Yeah but the size is worth the trade off for me.
smaller battery leads to charge more.. that is one of reason degrade faster....

amzn.to/2V7hZv0 it’s bulky but cheap and works well. I made a few videos on MagSafe batteries. So far I’ve liked this one the most.
That all being said I love my mini and will be sticking with it.
