- This is how the UX design process in the real world looks like. It is not linear, and there's no magical formula to it. Hope this gives you a clear idea of how designers approach our designs, why defining a good problem statement is crucial and why we do user testing.
P/S: Sorry for the video being out of focus! I spent 3 hours filming this due to all the technical errors that all happen on the same shoot :( Anyway, suggest content you'd like to see from me in the comments below!

Thank you for stopping by! I really appreciate it. I'm still amazed that my content on product design (UI/UX design), lifestyle and productivity helps someone out there, even though I'm a small creator. This has been the only ux channel worth watching for me
That's amazing to hear. Thank you Marco!
@@rachelhow Me too. Found your channel and want to watch all your videos now!
@@rachelhow you so cute, and I like you
me too , it clears alot...
I have done the Google UX certification, this video was the entire course explained in 11 minutes! So clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much for this 😭 Other videos are too complex or don't explain all terms assuming the viewer knows them, this is really a gem of a video! ♥️
Omg. I'm so happy to hear this. Good luck to you!! ♥️
Can i ask the Google UX certification worth it? Or we can learn free knowledge outside?
@@minhchaule7434 Rachels videos are better than a Google UX certification
100% agree, google certificate is so annoying
really? oof good thing i didnt start the certification yet lol
i would love to see a demostration in figma from scratch of a little project made by you, with a short case study more like a tutorial so we can easily follow and understand the whole process rach, love your videos im taking notes and studying!
You’re so articulate, everything you say is so well said and valuable! One for your suggestion box- I’d be very interested in seeing some documents from a real project you’ve worked on (sanitized for privacy if necessary) - how you organize and structure your design file, how you have used site maps and wireframes- do you annotate them? How do you define your feature sets? Like a peek into the world of a real project. Thanks for all the knowledge you share!
So straightforward and informative! Thank you so much for being so clear. I find the UX design of your videos helps solve the problem of my difficulty of learning. I love how you use the question format to raise essential topics we need to know. It's very dialectical and mimics the way one thinks when trying to learn.
I have watched this video over and over again. A lovely idea will be to have a video for each stage where you will go in-depth on each of the stages.
Thank you Rachael
THANK. YOU.
Goodness… BLESS you for even this “quick” rundown! I especially couldn’t wrap my head around research and never found any answers around how that’s actually conducted.
Loved seeing the examples and visuals and pictures. My mind’s more analytical and I need things spelled out for me and to see them in order for it to click. So this video was EXTREMELY helpful!
WAY more helpful than the graphics I Google haha!
Thank you SO much for this!
Thank you, Rachel! Your explanation is simple and do show us what to do in a common way! and the next improvement depends on us!
I love learning through your videos like they're mini-lectures, thank you for providing resources like this for us! I'm currently following your learning roadmap to save money for me trying to go through a whole bootcamp experience, it's really helpful thank you so much!! Hope your well-being n career is thriving
This is the only channel I watch for further understanding and research. Thank you so much Rachel
I just finished watching this video now ...and this is amazing .. i have gotten a lot mixed up lately starting out in self learning ui ux .. and this video put everything in its place
This is hands down the best video I've seen so far in this topic! Thank you so much for such valuable information and giving a realistic picture of the ui ux world
A playlist with an individual video for each of the stages would be cool 👍🏻
This is the best, most realistic, pragmatic and actionable explanation of UX / Product Design on YT
This is a very valuable video for me to be able to learn Ux, Ui design. You covered them all, it's easy to follow and learn them. Thanks so much, Rachel
Hey, I watched nearly all of your videos. Mainly the "How I became a UI/UX Designer in 3 months" gave me extreme motive. I was learning JavaScript. But After learning for 2 weeks I stopped it and after seeing your video it helped me to rejoin in Javascript again. Thank You.
Hey Mr Fathi, please don't stop, keep going.
It may be hard to stay motivated especially during a pandemic (we're still in lockdown in Malaysia). Try to stay consistent, maybe set 30mins to 1 hour a day for learn JS. Consistency always wins.
Hi Rachel!! I just moved to Silicon Valley and my career was not related to tech. I really love your videos and you have inspired me! I already decided to switch careers to tech and your videos are keeping me updated
I love the design of your videos, super clean and sleek, no extra details, to me it's an instant sign of quality. Thank you for your great work!
This means a lot. Thank you for watching!
Thank you so so much finally somebody who took the time to explain it in clear concise detail. As someone changing careers to ui/ux, but also very passionate about helping others, I realized this might be a daunting task but I'm glad someone like Rachel breaks it down and easy to understand chunks. And finally, no matter what I learn I'll be that 1% better each day and I will step away from a toxic job. Happy New Year to all and God bless.
I came here and found this video ... Because i might be leaving my job soon in a telco company, iv been the worst performing .. i strongly had to think about it .. maybe i wasn't in the right place, so im transitioning to uiux, already mastered the use of figma and adobe xd in 2weeks because i have a grsphics design background, so this video is all i need for the ux side .. cos it was a bit confusing .. learning it on my own ... Now i know where mind maps fall in .. and iv literally used mind maps all my life subconciously .. ever since i got my first phone .. thanks to this channel ... Just thought to share my story
Thank you so much! This was really useful
Great as always. If you can talk about the most important challenges you face while working and what strategies you used.
Thanks again for these great videos you are making.
You are real and amazing. i enjoy watching your videos from the beginning to the end. God bless you
Hi Rachel!
My name is Joy and just graduated college with degree in architecture. I love design but architecture just stresses me a lot and I don't really like waking up to my job. Lately I've been really interested in UI UX design and I'm considring a carrer switch. I have started learning Adobe XD. Your videos are super helpful.
Finding your channel is one of the best things that had happened to me. Thanks so much for creating such amazing and inspiring content. I'm your biggest fan 😊🤗🤍
rachel you're literally the first person to say terms and actually explain them after! i was going crazy with everyone saying survey and stakeholders and not explaining what i actually meant, thank u so much for this caring content!
Wow thank you Isabelle!!! Wishing you all the best
This is a clear explanation, Rachel. I got a premium course from a local online course but they explain the course unclearly, so I have to research more on Google or UA-cam to understand deeply about the UI/UIX. Keep creating more videos, Rachel, I'll be in touch. Thank you!
Thanks Oda, I'm deeply humbled! I wish you all the best in your learning journey. 😁
Finally a video on this!
You're the first! Thanks for watching
Hi, Rachel Thnx so much for making this informative videos and providing self learning materials. I have a total 12yrs of professional exp and 5yrs of professional gap. Thank you Rachel for all your videos!! I wish you could make videos analysing various designs and critique them. It would be helpful I suppose.
Hey Rachel, i have started my ux journey 1 month back, Your videos keep me motivated, Please keep uploading more content🥳
Omg thanks Shubham, good luck in your UX journey!!
Your video is pure gold, Thank you so much Rachel !
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching ;)
You are one of my fav design channels on UA-cam. I love the way you explain the UI/UX process.
Thank you for the great video!! I hate it when people use fancy terms without actually describing the real life situation, love how you explained everything so clearly!
The way you explain and the information that you share is truly amazing !♥️ Could you please make a video on how to make lo-fi & hi-fi prototype and the tools used?
Love your tips and how you share your knowledge. Thank you so much. Hoping for more videos soon🥰🤍
Thanks for watching, Czarina!
This is so good ❤
After watching your video, I was relieved to discover that I'm not alone in striving to simplify the UX process. Because I was the only UI UX designer in my company. With the plethora of fancy UX tools available today, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Your approach has really resonated with me.
Great video as always. Please explain each step of design thinking or make a series on design thinking.
I loved the idea how you present subscribe plea as a neat notification. It is way better than annoying flashes. Also, your channel is superb. You are my inspiration.
Super Helpful! Thank you for this video Rachel :)
You're so welcome!
Woah.!! I love this channel. Clearly explained. Thanks, Rachel ❤🔥

this video is really informative
keep uploding this kind of informative video
This is super insightful, as a junior ux designer and a 3rd year univeristy student trying to find an internship, I found the industry of UX. I'm researching on everyday to get more knowledgeable in this field. This video helps way too much, it uncovers the entire real process of ux design IN DETAILS that I have researched here and there online. Thanks Rachel ❤️🥺🙆🏻♀️
Hey Christine, thanks for sticking around my channel, truly appreciate it ❤️ In this video I didn't want to dive TOO deep into technicals but also wanted to give a clear idea of what each process is REALLY like in a real world project. I'm glad it has helped you!
I'm a Data Scientist who wanted to learn about the UX process and this channel has the best resource on UA-cam. Thanks Rachel for creating such informative contents.
Wow, thanks Sangeet! That's very kind of you. You are so welcome!
So interesting and useful, thank you)
Glad you find the video useful!
Amazing content!! Can you do a video diving deeper into user research, how it works a little more, and sending surveys or finding users? And maybe dive into scripts or questions?
The way you explain is truly admirable.
Thanks for watching, Tanay! :)
liked and subscribed! that was super helpful. Self taught UX/UI designer and this has been the easiest shortest straight forward video
Thanks for watching, Jess!
Hi Rachel. If you haven't taken a deep dive into each stage yet, please do. That would be much appreciated. Thank you for such a thorough explanation of the whole process.

Clearly explained🙌🏻
Thank you, happy to know that!
I've been wanting to do UX/UI design for some time now but i didn't know where to start. I came from a different design field (interior design) but i find the process similar, End user oriented. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience ❤️
Best of luck!
Same!! I come from Interior Design field too!
Hi Rachel🌸I’m so glad you are doing this for people to learn and understand the stages of UX. you have truly inspired me and I would love to change my career path to UX design. Do you have any recommendations on free courses a beginner should do?

@@rachelhow ❤️
This will be very useful for my research.
Thank you for watching!!!
@@rachelhow Your welcome.
Hi Rachel, thanks for the informative video! I have some more questions about the "Test Design" phase, specifically when we "schedule a test with the users" - how are users testing it if all we have are mid-fidelity designs on Figma at this time? i.e. how do they interact with the designs? I would love to see a video on an example of a mid-fidelity design undergoing user testing. Sorry if this is obvious, I still have lots to learn about UX :)
very very good content!
This was great! I'd love to see an example of this process.
Thanks for the idea!
More topicss pleaseee ❤️
You are the best ever!
oh stop 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Awesome explanation 🤘🙏
Thanks a lot 😊
Awesome video!!
Thanks Raquel!
Going deep into each topic sounds great 😊 I think there is a big difference between a project work when you signed up on delivering a project, opposed to being integrated in a product development team and doing agile 🙂 but regardless, great video as always!
I agree with you Niki. The process is never the same, however the principle remains. Understand the purpose behind each step of the process, then choose what works best to solve the problem.
Hey,love your videos can you make a video on how to start with UI UX design please ❤️❤️
I am a designer using Ai, Psd, Ae, Pr, and I am looking for ui/ux design to further my career too.
Found your content where it gives me a lot of info to start and learn as a ui/ux designer. Furthermore, I am also looking into Malaysia market. 😊
Great content!
Thank you Hana!
You sound like such a boss in this video !! :)
Aww, thank you Alexander! thanks for watching! :D
Thank you.
Very nice, can you please create video part by part on ux design process on each topics, it's really helps me and everyone who watching. Beacuse its really hard that undustand the business that we dont know about anything.
Keep making videos rachel! Can you make video on the research process part like how to create user interview, surgery, scripting, etc. Thanks
Спасибо за видео, отдельно хочется сказать ,что у вас красивая блуза!)
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
The main problem is "How to search users for user research??" no one on the internet talk about it.
thaanks 😍
Hey Rachel, so for example, I’m doing a redesign/adding a feature for a platform as a side project to get some experience. I surveyed 50+ users. If I did that (quantitative research) do I have to make personas etc ? Also when it’s just adding a feature how much do you need to put into a case study? Also can you show examples on how Mid fidelity prototypes look and operate ?
Thanks for the information. Please how do I start practicing each of these stages?
Thank you so much Rachel! You've been so very helpful with my UX design journey. Just a quick question, how do you choose which users you'll be testing the prototype design to, as well as the users you're getting the research from? Are they hand picked by the company or do you choose the users to interview and test? Tia
This was really helpful but when do we create the pixel perfect designs and design systems ?
or are the prototypes you created at stage 4 enough for devs ?
You are the best bless you
Thank you! Bless you too!
hey Rachel, i recently started learning UX... i already functional designer at eLearning job. i feel i can figure out the process by people like you who are helpful and many other on UA-cam my problem is that i am not sure how much time i need to make my fist ux design case study.. i mean i dont want to rush to just finish soon but at the same time i dont want to take lot of time and then procrastinate. what should be the take toward that and how much time should my first case study take. thanks
