Welcome to the replay of this mixed media art tutorial (recorded LIVE)! This one was challenging for me. I felt lost more than a few times, but I ended up liking the wildness that resulted at the end of the video. Sometimes newness is intimidating and these feel very new for me. Just another reminder to all of us (myself most of all) to keep showing up and let your creativity unfold - you might even surprise yourself!
Materials used: sketchbook, acrylic paint (including paint from Nova Color www.novacolorpaint.com - I'm not affiliated in anyway - it's just good paint) and collage
As always, I welcome your comments and questions and please feel free to share this with others who might enjoy it! I appreciate you all so much.

So glad to have been able to join today Jackie -- missed the last ten minutes but caught it on the replay -- looking forward to hearing more about the workshop and thanks, as always, for letting us into your creating space -- it's always worthwhile ❤
So nice to have you there today! ❤️❤️❤️
Great collage. ❤ this one too
Thank you! 😊
Hi Jackie! I just discovered this peeling the brayer thing the other day by accident too. But, I didn't think to save the peel for collage! Bummer, trash already went out. Next time...
Haha! Next time! ☺️
I keep missing the live stream but im thrilled to see the replay. :)
Would love to see you live but always happy to have you watching anytime! ❤️
fab as always. black never fails. art 4 wellness. art is wellness. was ill 4 long time with no nhs help. and a gelliplate and a ton of paint saw me thru +a lot of expensive private healthcare. but the point is that looking at what i had done the day before made me get up in the morning.
I’m so sorry you were I’ll for so long and so glad you found art so helpful as you healed! I have chronic health issues myself and it can be so disheartening to feel that things aren’t improving. Seeing the concrete evidence that I created something makes a HUGE difference for me - just like you said about your art helping you get up again. Art is underrated as a wellness and life improvement tool ❤️❤️❤️
love your color combo--rreminds me of the summer i worked at the grand canyon.
Appreciate it, @cynthiathomas262! Grand Canyon summers sound amazing! 🌄🎨
Thank you 😊
You’re so welcome - thanks for watching!
👍👏💪 Merci merci pour cette belle et instructive démo 👀 Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de traduction en français 🤔
Hmm, the closed captions aren’t available in French either? Bummer. I’d say I’d make a special French episode for you, but my French is TERRIBLE, so I can say with full confidence that it’s best for both of us that I only speak in English 😬🤷♀️🤣
I just love all of your videos Jackie Thank You for making them🙏🎨👩🏼🏫@jackie
That's so nice to hear - thank you!
I live in eastern Oregon, almost in Idaho. Hells Canyon and Eagle Cap Wilderness close by.
Hi Ivy! Thanks for watching the replay!
What kind of gluing medium are you using for collage? What a great idea to use the color shaper to press down the collage.
I use gloss medium as my collage glue. And yes, the color shaper is a game changer for me when it comes to collaging ❤️
Thanks I tried using medium today with my catalyst wedge. I ordered a couple of color shapers. Love watching your utube channel.
Thanks so much, Ivy! Enjoy your new supplies! Let me know how it goes once you start using them! ❤️
Thanks, very nice! What kind of brush is it that you stuck to the stick?
Thank you! It’s a long (1”) skinny brush (I believe the handle says Newton Regency) that has been damaged after years of me leaving in my water jar for way too long 🤦♀️ The bristles have basically split into two groups at this point. It’s a one-of-a-kind specialty item at this point 😂
Creating art excites me
❤️❤️❤️
Yes
Hi Pamela! Thanks for watching the replay!
I love that B/W crispy collage paper you used in the beginning of gluing things down. Where can I get that?
Can you please send me the timestamp for where to see it in the video? Thanks!
@@jackieschomburgart 12:20
@@originalart888I have a feeling that Jackie makes that b/w collage paper from painting/stenciling/ gelliprinting etc on grease proof paper. It's very easy to make marks on this paper plus when you glue it it looks fab.
Apologies - I missed your timestamped reply until now! I used tissue paper on a gelli plate to create this paper ☺️
You’re close! It’s gelli printed tissue paper ☺️
What brush so you use
I usually use inexpensive flat brushes that are easy to replace 🤣
Wish I had bungee jumped when I was younger but at 72 I’m afraid to hurt my neck or back
Oh my goodness! Im sorry you never got to do it, but I have to say that I think it’s amazing that you ever wanted to bungee jump in the first place! 💪🏼 Even at 18, 25, or 35 I never once had the urge. Too scary for me 😆😳😱
Great video. So many ads on this one
Oh no! Sorry about the ads 🙄 unfortunately I don’t have control over how many ads play during the videos.
No bungee jumping or parachuting for me.
Same! 😆
