Way to push through Denise …. Every idea can be art in the end if we “see” and persevere! ❤
Lolll..the singing! "come fail with meee, todayyyy" I love it! This turned out beautiful! 🧡💜💕💚
“I like that; I mostly like that; I don’t know if I like that.” You just cracked me up! Although I wasn’t sure about the green and orange at the beginning, once it dried, I loved it, especially the one on the right. always love the mark making. You taught us all a good lesson today, Denise. Thank you.🤗
Thank you for this ‘struggle’ video. It is awesome to see how you pulled out of that. Thanks for being real and honest with the struggle. Inspires me to keep going when I have a hot mess going on
Some days are just harder than others! So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 🥰
What a great lesson in not giving up. I have a painting with at least 4 coats of acrylic of different attempts and have yet to rescue it. Will keep trying because "what would Denise do?" is echoing in my head. Those pieces you "rescued" turned out lovely.
Really enjoyed this video, and these pieces turned out fantastic.
"Wonky Mask" for the win!
It's that..." keep going, till u like it "...that helps... you have saved me several times with that❤
Thank u 4 showing even the strugles...🥰
I really appreciate you showing how you work through the fails. I struggle with the messy middle, so this was really helpful for me.❤
Dollar general and also family dollar had boxes like that also. Love your work Denise!
Denise, in the very first video I watched by you, you showed two things that have continued to serve me well to remember: always squeeze out the acrylic ink into the bottle first (thank you!!), and how to handle a bit of frustration (laugh, sing, keep going, pivot, if nothing else works, punch out a heart!). Thank you for this reminder that I so needed today, and thank you for sharing your art. Oh! And the white paint "wash" was exactly what both of them needed!! Brava!
Eeeek! You’ve really made my day! So very glad you enjoy my channel! And cutting hearts is still my favorite thing to save the day!! Thank you! 🥰
My personal art credo is: if it’s a horrible mess (in my opinion) do two more things to it and change it up. Loved the peachy ink in the beginning, this was one of your best videos. Thank you for being so open with all of us about fails and your encouragement not to let them stop you.
That is a great credo! So glad this video was helpful!! We all have our struggles somedays with our art! Thank you! 🥰
These came out gorgeous! Thank you for sharing that you have bad painting days too. 😊❤
I really appreciate you showing the process of working through the frustration, as I struggle with those moments a lot. Both pieces came out looking wonderful! I laughed at the rogue missing oil pastel and I sighed in appreciation at the stabillo pencil marks in the wet paint.
I finally found that pastel under something on my desk 😂… Thank you! 🥰
That was fun! Very handy to know how one can get out of sticky situations. You saved the day. Thanks for sharing even though you considered your paint day a fail.
I am gut-laughing Miss Denise! 🥰❣❣ I seriously felt like I was reliving my last several paint days, and I'm so thankful you actually shared this video with us. What a great exercise in "just keep going" attitude, and reminding us that everyone has crazy days. What an awesome outcome and lesson in perseverance. I'm certain that all of my paint days will be better moving forward if I just get that wonky mask stencil pronto! It saved the day. Thank you for ALWAYS being the bright spot in the day.....your pieces turned out awesome in the end❣
Haha! It was a struggle to get there today! And I’m so glad I kept going!! Glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you! 🥰
Would have liked to see blowing through a straw to move that ink around at 10:30 - that can be such a cool effect! 🙂This was a fun color palette challenge! Thanks for sharing your work with us!
One of my mentors says, “Don’t stop at ugly!” Thanks for sharing this one.
Loved this paint day and I was cracking up all through it. I like the way it came together. You persevered, I hope I learned that lesson. I kept saying out loud, oh no Denise and then you’d do something I would have never thought of. Spray with water and rub the paint away or smoosh it away, 😂 Thank you for sharing this video, made my day.
Thank you for showing us how to handle a stencil failure. I loved some marks you made with the scraper. Then the stencil mess happened. I am so glad you added back some orange and pink. This video also proved your other belief: keep adding layers until you like it. I have some brand new Posca pens (white, black, & purple) to try out on a watercolor I did this morning. I love your dots.
Didn't think you were going to save these. Definitely thought they were destined to be cut up. But when you added the white dots, everything started to come together. I like the results very much. Good paint day!
This was so great! Love how you pulled it all together. I probably would have quit😂I won’t now, I’ll keep at it until I love it❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy how you keep your cool if you get frustrated or disappointed with art. Saturday evening I got really upset that I didn't get the outcome that I wanted & was debating about throwing away all my art stuff because I suck. Sunday morning arrived & I tried again & did much better. I try to keep in mind your words of inspiration: I'm here to have fun & not do a master piece of art. I also like when your nail polish coordinates with your art.
Weirdly enough, it’s easier to keep my cool when filming… I used to go to my art table and wanted to paint something amazing and leave angry, ready to chuck it all too! I’ve worked to get to where I am now with my art and my temper! 😁 Thank you! 🥰
i like how your Fails added depth to these pieces...bring on the fails 😂
love all your videos, however this one was excellent, really great save, the paintings are wonderful x
This was amazing! Had me on the edge of my seat🍿...”do this”...”move this over here”...”sop that up” 🤣😂🤣😂 They turned out great. So glad you show the process...good and bad.
These turned out great....they will make two beautiful pieces of framed art !❤
Great fun! Loved your reactions to each “mess”! I’m working on a mess also… hope it comes out like yours did! Thanks for sharing!
Perfect example of quote by Marlene "if it is not pretty, it is just not finished" I will admit I wondered at a few points but you did have a great paint day. Mine is drying with corrugated cardboard, so we will see about it later. Thanks Denise!!
This was me a few days ago! Nothing worked and I ended up throwing all kind of stuff on it. Gave up, sprayed the whole thing with water and put a thick layer of salt on it. It actually came out pretty good. It ended up looking like ice crystals with tons of texture. Thanks for sharing!!! I love the way yours turned out!!!😊
Definitely was a struggle today! So glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you! 🥰
I've been waiting for you to do something ugly but this isn't even it! I would never ever do green and orange and you've made it look magical 💚🧡 (and when you sang 'come fail with me' I was hearing Frank Sinatra -- Come Fly with Me -- we should totally rewrite those words :)
Now I’m singing that in my head!! Ha! Love that. So glad you enjoyed this one! Thank you! 🥰
I can *not* find my brand new bowl scrapers which I bought specifically for painting. (I must have put them somewhere *very* safe when cleaning for company.)
The other day I was starting to get frustrated hunting for them--already had my paint squeezed out and it was starting to coagulate. So I decided, "I'm a creative person. Get creative." I folded a piece of heavy paper, and used that to spread my paint with.
And you know what? It totally worked! I got some really cool looks, and was able to do some interesting mark-making in the paint with the corner of the paper.
And the best part-- when I was done, I just threw all my paint spreaders away! No cleaning. 😁
One of the best things art teaches you is that there are many ways to skin a cat. And these lessons spill over into the rest of life.
Great save!! so glad you pushed though and found a creative solution while your paint was out!! 😊
Thanks for sharing the fail, the ugly bits, we all experience them! Which color box do you like best- 1 or 2?
So glad you enjoyed that! On the cubes - after using them for a while now.. I seem to prefer box 2 the most… can’t really pin point why though 😁 Thank you! 🥰
Very nice! How do you protect those artworks?
Thank you! 🥰 I did a video a while back on how I protect them here: ua-cam.com/video/_E0I0FjbnXw/v-deo.htmlsi=yPeOt7Exedxp8zae
You are so brave to just “wing it” on every single video. And then you have a rare fail and BOOM! you save it. I have a drawer full of big fat fails. None of them have ever been saved. Makes me feel guilty every time I buy more supplies. I think today I will randomly pull out a fail and see what will happen. Thank you Denise!!!
It's very good that the fails are shown too, that make everyones fail so much easier" to overcome. Thanks for that, not that I want You to fail, but I think You understand that. 🥺
Why don't You use mod podge?
So glad that was helpful! We all have days that are a struggle! Thank you! 🥰
For stencil like that use B really dry brush or sponge. Less paint. Hope thathelps
I’m SO happy that you showed the “fail”!!!!
I’m going to take my failed papers and TRY AGAIN… (deep colors and marks right on top 😄)
It’s gonna LOOK GREAT‼️
➖ THANKYOU 💕👏🏼
I’m going to put gold somewhere on mine❗️🫶🫶🫶
Oh Denise... Been there...done that... Near the end, I told my husband, she needs either bold white or bold black. After you added white, it transformed the painting. 🙂
Definitely needed the white (or black)! Was missing that final touch. So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 🥰
